[Balthazar pops up in the feed looking drawn and stressed-out, his voice terse and sharp.] I have a question. Has anyone out there with peculiar weaknesses tried them on their own Shadow? Out of curiosity. Living with them indefinitely seems a bit--

[The voice of his Shadow comes from offscreen, but close.] Draw your sword. Let's try it. I won't even fight back.

[Flinch. The angel's eyes lock on the screen as he attempts to ignore the antics of his duplicate self in the background.] --seems a bit of a tall order, when they're so utterly determined to needle us.

Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot you're a coward. Well, never mind. At least you know I won't stab you in the back, either.

[His jaw twitches, and he goes on through gritted teeth.] Mostly, I'm curious whether spells and sigils can trap them effectively, but mine seems determined to stay close and disrupt my concentration.

Haha! Get it? Because stab--

[The sound cuts off abruptly, and a hand covers the video screen while Balthazar waits for replies.]

We're not supposed to have ANY feelings. But I'm not the most obedient angel. I have plenty of romantic feelings.

[Knowing that's a sensitive point his Shadow could pick at, he opts to change the subject. Plus John's being amusing, now. He laughs again.]

No judgment here. I'm in favor of fooling around as long as everyone's willing and enjoys themselves. [Mind you, he's not sure what John's age is, otherwise he might be more circumspect. Still, it's not Balthazar's place to judge, angel or not.]

yeah, i think that's true.
and like.
we've been here a couple years, so it kind of makes it more and more difficult to decide just how old we are and.
you know.
to care about being gay anymore.
or well half-gay.
gayish.
gayesque.
the point is, this place kind of makes you stop caring about shit eventually.
so it might be the perfect places for angels to hang out, not having feelings!

Does the label matter where you come from? I tend to just sleep with whoever looks interesting and will have me, regardless of gender or sex.

i turned fifteen, last i went home.
it's hard to say how old i am exactly.

and it did, before the world ended.

it mattered to SOME people.
i was never against it but i guess i was scared to be labeled.
people tend to make liking guys into a girly thing.
i'm kinda surprised you'd be so casual about being into whoever you like since you're an angel and all.
most people say god is like

Sorry, that's a bit of a topic jump, I suppose. It's just we nearly had that happen where I came from, too.

But, yes, I know what you mean. I'm an atypical angel in some ways, but ultimately I think the bias toward heterosexuality comes from humans and the religions they've created for themselves. Not so much from God. Definitely not from angels.

my dad did die but that was after.
