01 ♛ video
[ the video feed starts, and lydia's not paying attention; in fact, she'd been using the darkened screen of her device in order to check the status of her lip gloss and mascara. the latter is slightly smudged underneath one eye, as if she's recently been crying, but it's the only sign of any distress as she quickly plasters a different expression on, mouth pouting slightly. ]
I would like to state, for the record, that this is ridiculous. Absolutely, completely - ridiculous.
I mean, they say that the first part of debunking a hallucination is to acknowledge its total lack of infallibility.
Or something.
Besides, the whole 'waking up in Wonderland' cliché? So tired.
[ she pauses, eyes narrowing, and stares a little more intently at the camera, as if silently daring someone to challenge her.
and then she sighs, quietly, the camera panning to the rows and rows of books behind her - several of the titles in different languages - before the feed cuts out. ]

... But he's a little bit late, and he sees that now, many apologies. Looks like she got the basic rundown ( which is fantastic for him, because he's literally the worst at explaining things ), so Scott just smiles at her for a second, not really knowing what to do. Introductions are hard when the obvious is out of the way, so he just shakes his head, running some fingers through his hair. ]
Uh - looks like you got the welcome. [ Awkward laugh. ] Are you feeling okay?

[ she's greeting you with a classic lydia martin expression - a smile right on the verge of actual sincerity, though it's more to give her the chance to size him up a little. oh, yes. we heard all about where you're from. ]
Perfectly fine. Why wouldn't I be?

[ Does he need a reason? He looks kind of taken aback because he doesn't know what to say for another second, before he just grins at himself and sets his hand on the back of his neck. Totally suave. ]
Isn't it kind of kosher to ask that when you get kidnapped? [ grinning??? ] Anyway, Stiles is going to be happy to see you.

Is that what's happened? We've all been kidnapped? Why does this feel exceedingly familiar?
