01 ♛ video
[ the video feed starts, and lydia's not paying attention; in fact, she'd been using the darkened screen of her device in order to check the status of her lip gloss and mascara. the latter is slightly smudged underneath one eye, as if she's recently been crying, but it's the only sign of any distress as she quickly plasters a different expression on, mouth pouting slightly. ]
I would like to state, for the record, that this is ridiculous. Absolutely, completely - ridiculous.
I mean, they say that the first part of debunking a hallucination is to acknowledge its total lack of infallibility.
Or something.
Besides, the whole 'waking up in Wonderland' cliché? So tired.
[ she pauses, eyes narrowing, and stares a little more intently at the camera, as if silently daring someone to challenge her.
and then she sighs, quietly, the camera panning to the rows and rows of books behind her - several of the titles in different languages - before the feed cuts out. ]

action;
More or less.
Well, we might as well get the grand tour over with.
action;
What was that creepy motel thing you were talking about, though?
[ and yes. just...follow allison, lydia. she'll show you around! and by that she means gossip while they're walking because she feels more productive that way. ]
It's not that big, honestly, but I think you'll like the closets.
action;
[ she's more focused on the story than where they're walking, which is possibly a good thing. or not, considering the story's just as much fun to retell as it was to live out the first time. ]
The darach, that thing that's responsible for all the human sacrifices? It tried to use the motel to kill the werewolves. There was powdered wolfsbane in the coach's whistle that poisoned them a little bit each time he blew it. All these people who had killed themselves there - and that night there were almost a few more added to the list.
action;
[ because for half a second that seemed like a really weird thing to her, but she filed it under 'it probably made sense at the time' and kept listening. ]
Why's the darach killing werewolves? I thought he was just after virgins... [ the thing about wolfsbane worries her, because she knows what it does to werewolves and if the coach had been continually administering it to the whole bus... ] Wait. Aren't Boyd, Isaac, Ethan and Aiden all on the cross country team too? [ which...sounds like an awful set up to a bad situation. but then there's the whole killing themselves bit... ]
They didn't, though, right? [ allison is just going to ignore the way her entire body tenses up at the idea of scott or isaac or any of them killing themselves. ] We stopped them.
action;
[ she shrugs one shoulder and then continues elaborating. ] Apparently it only kills in threes. Three virgins, three warriors, three healers. Or whatever. Regardless, it wants the werewolves out of the way, and it didn't really care that they weren't all on the same side. But relax, everyone's fine. Sort of.
[ to say that night had packed an emotional punch would be stating it mildly. ] We stopped them. [ but she won't bring up the part where it took her hearing voices from seemingly nowhere to figure out something was up. ]
action;
[ no matter that that seems really suspicious. whatever. ] So it tried to go for three werewolves? I guess that'd make sense, though it doesn't explain what it's killing for.
[ sort of. lydia... ]
And everyone's okay?
action;
[ she's pretty sure they can rule him out, though. he really doesn't seem the type to go all psychotic with rituals and sacrifices. ]
We don't really know why it's doing what it's doing.
action;
But everyone's okay, right? For now. When you left.
action;
Yes. Everyone's fine. In a sense.
[ but then again, how would you be if forced to sleep on a bus next to stinky cross-country gear all night? ]
action;
[ sorry girl, allison's not a big fan of not knowing the future. ]
action;
[ a couple people worse than others - see above, re: isaac, and boyd, and definitely scott - but lydia gets the sense it's the last thing the latter wants to talk about. ]
action;
Lydia, what happened? Really.
action;
I started hearing voices, alright? That's how I knew there was something screwy about that place. Voices - sounds of people killing themselves.
action;
You were hearing people commit suicide? I thought you said we saved them.
action;
Still didn't make it any less freaky.
action;
[ just give her this moment of suspicion, lydia. she'll be through with it in a moment. ]
action;
[ she hisses, glancing around them as if someone could have overheard that. ]
You believed me, you know. You said you knew I wasn't crazy.
action;
[ okay no lydia don't look at her like that. ]
I do believe you. You wouldn't lie about something like this. I'm just trying to understand.
action;
Sorry. It's confusing enough living through it - which you did, I promise.
action;
[ she winces a little at that, because just hearing voices. of course. no big. ]
action;
- right?
action;
