[ cora wakes up in the maze. her communicator sits a few feet away from her. she spends an hour or two trying to navigate her way out of it, stubborn enough to refuse clicking on said communicator and asking for help. but she seems to only be walking in circles. dead end after dead end — and didn't she just see that hedge ten minutes ago? — and while she's not one to give up and toss in the towel, she's feeling like there's no end in sight if she keeps this up. ]
[ she turns her communicator on and after some fiddling, flicks it to video. she shows the area she's in, which pretty much looks the same as it did a few seconds ago. hedge, hedge, and more hedge. ] Anyone got a guide for getting out of this maze on hand? I'm stuck.
[ the camera passes over her (her eyes are narrowed, her hair is a little messy, but there's no open wounds on her forehead, that's the important thing) as she continues to show her surroundings. it's a pointless thing to do, but, alas, it's the only thing she can think to do. cora sighs. she's alone and she doesn't like it one bit. ]
Not really sure about the shortcuts at the moment. [ lifting her shoulders, she admits a quiet defeat, and begins to walk to the left. it's only a few beats before she stumbles ] — Crap — [ and her head's slightly pounding from how hot she feels and from each step she takes resonating in her skull, before she cuts it off, perhaps waiting for a reply back. ]
[ but she'll continue to walk around, for that is what hales do: be stupid. ]
( OOC: grabbing cora's reserved for the teen wolf idiots, but come engage in some deadpan conversation with her / give her directions. )

SWOOPS IN IMMEDIATELY
But Cora's voice has him immediately turning on his own device, sitting upright and eyes scanning over her image. ]
Cora--? [ Oh great. Cora, stop that. ] You keep wandering around, you're going to get even more lost.
CATCHES
[ great advice, bro. his voice makes cora stop in her tracks. the sight of him makes her feet turn to lead. she frowns; how is he even here? why is he here? where is he? ]
[ at least she's listening, even if she's planning to ignore his incredibly smart advice and continue walking around later. how else is she meant to find him if she can't pull herself out of a maze? ]
You fell down the rabbit hole, too?
IMMA COMIN' BABY SIS
Already moving and head out of the mansion, outside and towards the maze, Derek lets out a humorless chuff in response to her question before he answers. ] You got a better welcoming than I did.
[ He's still assessing her, taking in her appearance and trying to figure out just how much more worried he should be. He remembers that outfit, remembers when he last saw her in it, and his stomach drops the slightest bit. Those were the clothes that she was entered into the hospital with, and what they changed her into when they were trying to get her back out again. ] How're you feeling?
COME BE HER BIG, FAT HERO, BIG BRO
Confused.
[ it's honest, right? it might not be what derek wants to hear, but she's not really prepared to say she's feeling a little off. it's the price you pay for when you're dropped down a rabbit hole, after all; nothing odd here! ]
[ welcoming? either her welcoming package has been misplaced or she's walked right by it. cora hasn't scanned the network for any indication of the who, what, where, when, and why. she has no plans on staying, either. but considering derek's here, her game plan that she'd imagined an hour ago needs some major edits. ]
You're not in the maze. [ which is probably why she can't really sniff him out. even thought he probably could, but, hales: stupid, remember? ] Where are you?
Considering the rest of the welcoming committee...
[ That was your big brother's welcoming, truth be told. Derek can't help the way he frowns a little more with her answer, but it's the truth and he can't quite call her on it on the network when he isn't immediately in her space. But he has every intention of making sure to find her so that he can have a valid reason to call her on it, overbearing brother or not.
He's been worried about her ever since he arrived, and no one's been able to tell him whether she's all right or not. Not even the people further along in the apparent Beacon Hills timeline they've got going on, mix and matched as it is. ]
No, I'm not. But I'm coming to get you now-- there's a mansion where everyone that's been dragged into Wonderland is staying.

[ Isaac is the most eloquent but he really didn't expect to see her... Of course, why not? Jackson just popped up too... From the looks of it, she's in the same nightmare he'd been dumped in when he first got here. ]
Believe me, it's a lot worse when you've been poisoned with wolfsbane.
[ It was terrible and everyone kept talking to him like it was far easier to get out of the maze than it actually was and don't get him started on the hobo. ]
Want some help?
[ Have an amused grin, Cora. He'll always offer to help. ]
video;
[ cora's surprised to see isaac, but she's relieved, at the same time. he's a familiar face, a kind one, if any, and while she can't tell him what his favourite colour is, his offer of help, rather than merely saying her name and leaving it at that, pulls a few of her walls down by just a few centimetres. just a few, mind you. he owes her nothing, yet he continues to give her everything — not that she realises this, anyway. ]
You know a way out?
video;
Uh, sort of. I mean I've been in there.
[ The video is shaky as he seems to pull himself up from a couch, he can definitely walk and talk, so he'll definitely be heading to the maze -- if he trips, well, you better not say anything. He's like a baby giraffe, his legs are way too long for his own good sometimes. ]
Derek got dumped in the pool. [ If he had to say so, he'd say Cora got the big straw, though, he doesn't know the state she's in. ]
video;
[ cora notes isaac's moving. she doesn't know him as well as stiles, but she has an inkling that he's going to play hero, too. or, at least, get up to grab a snack. ]
He got the easy wake-up call. [ though … cora's sort of glad she didn't wake up face-down in a pool. as nice as it would be to easily navigate her way to wherever the gang seems to be from a pool, at least the maze floor was a little more comfortable, if a little itchy. ] So, you woke up in the maze, too? Is that a beta thing?
[ who would willingly come in here? seriously. ]
video;
It was kinda funny. [ He lets out a thoughtful "hm" before nodding. ] I guess. Though I think Scott said he was dropped in the pool too. [ And he's a beta, right??? Right??????? ] You should probably just sit and wait, you might get even more lost.
[ This is the first time he's really talked to her all that much and she's not as bad as he thought she'd be. When she'd escaped and rampaged Beacon Hills... Well, he wasn't sure what to think of her other than she was kinda hot.... And also Derek's sister... Derek who made it very clear she's off limits. ]

Not to mention, of the three Hales, Stiles would infinitely prefer Cora. It could have been Peter. He scrambles to turn on his device, and a familiar, spotted face pops up on the other end. ] Aren't you supposed to be able to like, sniff your way out of there or something?
[ But it's teasingly, at least, and he's moving on the other end, like he's making his way down towards the maze. ]
video;
[ but: ]
[ wow, super offensive, stiles. ] What do you think I've been doing? Do you know how many scents are down here?
[ it sounds like an excuse, doesn't it? and she won't mention that she has a headache that's coming and going, either. she don't need no sympathy nor pity for her werewolf abilities being hindered. ]
Did everybody fall down the same rabbit hole?
video;
[ It's dripping sarcasm, but the corners of his mouth are drawn up in a grin as he takes the stairs down two at a time and skips outside. At least it's not snowing anymore--the maze is a whole other beast to conquer, but Stiles has a one track mind when it comes to solving problems, and the path to get there usually isn't involved in it. ] Literally, dude. You're going to think I'm nuts, but this is Wonderland. Like legit, I've talked to Alice and everything. She like has no eyes, which is creepy as hell, but she's kinda cool.
video;
[ but she's rather grateful for stiles. his humour has always been quite the puppetmaster, pulling the strings of her mouth right up. she's trying to fight it right now. ]
[ her eyebrows rise. stiles has spoken to alice of wonderland? it's becoming difficult for her to comprehend that this is wonderland of the books, but a lot of places take the names of well-known fictional worlds as a way to celebrate their impact on culture. maybe this place is different … ]
You've spoken to a fictional character?
video;
Not so fictional, apparently. I told you, you're gonna think I lost it. [ Stiles is so focused on his answer that he's really not paying attention to where he's going, which is...a really awful idea when you're walking through a maze. But it's Cora! ] The Cheshire cat, the "off with your head" crazy bitch queen, everything. As far as we can tell this is straight up the actual Wonderland.

I've never been in the maze, but I could keep you company while you're waiting for your friends to get you.
[Hey, those conversations weren't locked, so she wasn't being stalkery, okay?]
[video]
Thanks.
[ she shifts, slightly. she's going to start pacing soon. standing still in one spot is what gets you killed. but she's not quite sure how to continue the conversation, since her social skills are just on par with derek's. ] Is wherever you're at far from the maze?
[video]
I'm Lena. What's your name?
[video]
[ but she's starting to wonder how big the gardens are. she imagines it's separating the mansion and the maze, and if derek's coming … she doesn't want to wait out here all day. she's glad for the distraction, then, even if it's of a conversation that will only raise more questions. ]
If you didn't wake up in the maze, where did you?
[video]
[She offers the camera a shrug. Though a lot of events in the past year of her life have been really awful, if there is such a thing as luck, she's had it on her side because she's still alive, as are the most important people in her life.]
It sounds like a number of people here know you, Cora.
[And yeah, she heard them say Cora's name, but she didn't want to act like a weird eavesdropping stalker and tell the girl she already knew her name. She has enough to deal with at the moment. Like getting out of the maze for starters.]

and maybe allison just feels a bit sympathetic. she knows what it's like to wake up in the maze, for the first time, with no idea what's happening. and just like with isaac, she knows someone's on their way to find here - probably derek, this time. so rather than jump up to save cora, allison just kind of sits up in her bed. ] It's not even worth it. I'd wait for someone to come find you, honestly.
[ she thinks back to scott, that first night, and shakes her head. ] Welcome to Wonderland, by the way.
video »
[ this is serious advice that she needs. she's fallen down a hole to find herself here with almost everyone who matters in beacon hills. everyone, being derek, of course; none of the other kids apply, nope. cora won't let them in, because if she lets them in — ]
[ cora purses her lips slightly. she's about to start pacing. while she doesn't know allison at all, she's chosen to respond to her quiet plea for help, so, that, at least, has to mean she's someone who she can talk to. or talk to as much as cora talks to anyone. ] I should stop walking in circles, then.
video »
no matter if she knows cora or not, she can't help but feel the need to help. cora looks lost, and allison understands that. knows exactly what that's like. it's the similarities that she can't shake, and that make up for a majority of the reason she can't cut this message off. ] Probably. [ a slight smile, because okay that might have been a kind of joke. ] You're Derek's sister, right?
video »
Cora. [ might as well bypass the generic yes and imply it in her introduction, right? hales and their shortcuts; cora's wishing there was one in the maze right now. ]
And you're Argents' daughter. [ she doesn't say it unkindly, either. she doesn't know what to think; considering the way things are going these days, the players on the chessboard are shifting — and the enemy is most likely the one sleeping upstairs in derek's loft than those who have been carved out as her enemy since before she was born. but if peter's shifting alliances have taught cora anything, it's to trust no one but derek. ] I hear you're good with a bow.
video »
so she nods. ] I'm Allison. [ it's an effort to keep her face impassive when she hears that. argents' daughter. hunter's daughter. aren't you a murdering psychopath like the rest of your family? it's not what cora says, or even means, but it's all allison can hear. it's all she reads on her face.
but the effort is there, and allison manages to not let that darken her face or her eyes. instead, she actually looks a little sheepish - only a little, until she ends up shrugging. playing it off. cora has no reason to trust her, but that doesn't mean allison should give her a reason to distrust her. and if there's one thing she's learned, it's that honesty tends to be the best way to go (tends, being the key word). ]
I like to think so. [ she could mention her daggers, too, but that doesn't tend to leave the right impression. ] You just got here, right? [ dumb question allison, keep going. ] What's the last thing you remember?
