002 ♚ audio
[Whodunnits aren't really Peter's leisure activity of choice. Who's committed a crime and why aren't as interesting as what a person will do to overcome a challenge. Slapdash, violent, gleeful murder… it's a bit much. And rather hard to ignore after the first few bodies start appearing and the horrified reactions start buzzing amongst the people.]
Lock your doors and shutter your windows, it looks like we're in for a nasty storm.
[Only Peter's boyish voice can be heard; there's no indication of where he might be, or what he might be doing. Maybe he's taking his own advice on this one.]
If you don't, be careful who you come across in the halls. Or what you might find.
| private message to Emma Swan and Regina Mills |
I expect you'll be keeping a better eye on Henry this time. Don't wander off and lose your hearts. Someone taking them without magic makes an impressive mess.

What does "v-day" stand for?
[People who care to sit on the sidelines and bet on how many bodies drop? The more the merrier. People nigh unkillable? Sure. Violent offenders picking off people in increasingly terrible and grotesque ways? Why not.
What Peter can't yet wrap his head around are the decorative candy hearts with the little messages. Harry forgot to explain the importance in his manifesto.]

Valentine's day. People shove chocolate, flowers and cards at the one they take for granted the most, blah blah blah. Singles hate it because they're bitter.
[ She loves it because lonely hearts are the easiest to manipulate...or they were. When she was in the game of manipulation 24/7. ]
Maybe someone spurned our favorite little serial killer and he's just throwing a big ol' tantrum.

Oh. A holiday celebration from your world?
[The pieces are starting to fall into place. Peter might not have gotten an Earth education through a set of false memories, but he's learned a thing or two about the place his son had ended up, including a bit of the culture Storybrooke had adopted.]
A romantic celebration. You have a point, that sort of thing does make people lose their heads, doesn't it?

Through the whole conversation, Meg's been able to tell there's something a little off about this kid. Can't put her finger on it, not without seeing him face to face. ]
People do the whole 'crazy in love' routine and that's what starts all kinds of nasty things. [ She always found attachments dead weight, at least until recently. Now she's not so sure and figures it's not worth thinking about. ] What's your story, boy wonder? Doesn't seem like you're all hand wringy over a killer on the loose.

[Which pretty much confirms Meg's observation.
He could fake a child's fear-based concern, but a warning and an information fishing expedition born out of curiosity... That's closer to the truth and far more natural for him. It lets him avoid the exhaustion of acting and running into the inevitable trouble of someone seeing through his disguise before he's ready to discard it.]
The "natural order" isn't really for me, either. It's everyone else I worry about.
[A miner's axe to the chest probably wouldn't even kill him on the first blow, especially not one dwarven-made.]

[ Jokes. While she's fully confident in her ability to fight off a killer in mining gear, it's way more entertaining to sit back and watch. Like reality television. ]
Worry. Right. [ He hasn't sounded very worried to her, not in the way the usual saps are. ] I'll bet money one of our local fighters for all things good will ferret out the killer soon and we can all go back to our boredom soon enough.

[All this judgement. Honestly, for people who show very little recognition of Peter Pan's true reputation, they sure do a lot of harsh judging!]
And what would you call your interest in the matter? Healthy curiosity? You won't be joining in, I take it.
[He can appreciate a touch of voyeurism.]

[ It's typical Meg style in Wonderland nowadays to just be interested purely out of boredem. Back home she could travel around, go to other places around the world in an instant, but here? It's about as far as the middle of the woods and that's it. ]
Can't be all world weary traveler around here when there's nowhere to travel to. Keeping an eye on all the surprises the place has to bring is the only way to keep sane.
[ Because she's so sane, let me tell you. ]

Someone who appreciates the value of entertainment. That's good, not everyone does.
[Just two totally sane peas in a pod over here.]
It goes without saying you must not have anyone vulnerable to fret over while this storm passes. That can be good, too. No one cry over if find out what kind of adventure death is like?
no subject
Might be a different story if death were a done deal around this hellhole. [ Who knows, maybe it would be. ] After biting it a couple of times myself, can't say I'm going to clutch my pearls over a little violence.
[ Leaving out all the violence she herself has witnessed and caused in her own homeland. ]
Note to self: when editing sentences, remember to add all the words back in. X(
Probably not. She sounds like him, as a matter of fact.]
You've got an advantage, then. But it sounds to me you're well aware.
happens to me allll the time
[ Meg's base nature is to essentially give no fucks, but she does have one person she cares about very much - herself. If that involves changing a little to make sure she stays off a few radars and doesn't find herself chained to a chair, then all the better for her. It doesn't mean she's very happy about it, though. ]
Been a blast chatting with you, boy wonder, but I've gotta split.
[ There is a show to catch, after all. ]
/sobs forever.
[Peter doesn't necessarily sounds like he disagrees on anything that's been said, merely an interested listener in his own right.]
Happy travels.
