video;
[The feed is initially dark and grainy, showing not a whole lot of anything, though there is sound. Specifically, the sound of someone taking a few steps, tripping, and falling over with a surprised sound that's not quite dignified.]
Ow...
[As the unfortunate new comer starts to right himself, his hand jostles against the device and closes around it automatically. The camera angle changes as the device is turned over, inspected, and then a very surprised and confused face appears on the feed.
Kaneki is pretty average looking, except for the eye patch. Right now, he's a bit scuffed, dusty, and what little can be seen in the faint light from the screen shows he's in the caves. He fumbles the device for a moment before he manages to hold it steady.]
Er... I think I'm in a hole...somehow. I don't know if there's anyone around or if I have reception at all but if there is someone...
[He offers a smile that's equal parts embarrassed, apologetic, and nervous, rubbing the back of his head with his free hand. Actually, maybe he's more nervous than the other two.]
I could use a hand, if there is.

[action]
...that's... [He looks shocked but then tries to think about this realistically.] So...there is no way they can survive on human food?
[It's like titans...but if they die without it then it's different at the same time...]
[action]
It damages their bodies if they try, and it tastes terrible to them anyway.
I mean, that's what I've heard. [Smooth save, Kaneki.]
Some of them don't have any problem killing a lot of people and eating as much as they want. Some of them really just want to live normal lives, though, as much as they can.
[Even as he's speaking, he realizes that he's probably exhibiting a little too much knowledge on the subject.]
[action]
Oh...so they have to do it to even live?
[Marco has to really think about this for a moment.]
Normal lives? So they just want to live like humans do then?
It sounds a lot more complicated than our world...
[action]
[Kaneki's smile is vague. He looks around the area where they're loitering. That's enough of that test balloon.]
Is this place hard to navigate?
Re: [action]
[He pauses.]
I guess I would feel bad if anyone had to do something like that to live. Then it's for survive...I wouldn't have a problem if they found a way to feed without killing people though.
[Part of him is surprised he said it himself...but learning a friend of his was a titan...]
Hm? A little but it's also kind of simple? Plus the closets are...magic in a way.
[action]
Magic closets sound promising, though.]
In what way?
[action]
Yeah, seems you can wish for something and it just appears!
[Inside he looks around.]
Oh! This way there's a free room!
[action]
[Kaneki continues to walk beside Marco, letting him lead. He looks around as well, taking in the building's interior more closely.]
It looks like it must be a big place. It's kind of surprising there aren't more people around.
[action]
It is pretty big...bigger than what I'm used to. There's a giant library too!
Here close the door and then wish for something and open it!
[action]
Stepping toward the door, he isn't really sure what to think of and settles for a can of coffee.
When he opens the door, there is a small can of black coffee, though it's nondescript, with no brand name that he can locate. Curious, he picks it up, opens it, and drinks.]
...Not bad.
[action]
Still he smiles when he sees Kaneki's face.]
See! It's pretty amazing!
[action]
It's definitely convenient.
[He closes the closet door again.]
I wonder where it all comes from.
[action]
[This place already had a lot of things he could never imagine having back home. The closet was kind of icing on the cake.]
Wish I knew...it's pretty amazing.
Oh! And when you pick a room out it will start to become custom to you.
[action]
[action]
[He guesses that's the best way to explain it...yeah.]
[action]
Do I just pick a room to stay in?
[action]
[Marco nods to confirm as he smiles.]
It's all pretty easy going.
[action]
[Things are never that simple, though. :(]
And people get along pretty well?
[action]
The ones I've met have been!
[action]
[action]
[There's a pause.]
So, Kaneki, you seemed to know a lot about the Ghouls in your world...Not that it's bad! I'm just curious, do you study them?
[action]
Ah...no... You see, well, they've been in the news a lot lately and this guy who calls himself a ghoul expert is always on, talking about them. My friend's starting to get into the topic, and trying to figure out some of the investigations, but it's really a dangerous thing to get involved in.
[He's rambling now, and he realizes it. Cutting himself off there, he pauses, wondering how the heck he's managed to not be found out so far at home.]
So um...I just hear a lot about them.
[action]
He soon lets out a little bit of a nervous chuckle.]
That is pretty amazing, not sure what you mean by he's 'on' but it seems like it's good to learn more, right?
[Rubbing his neck he offers a smile.]
It's pretty crazy too...I have a friend that seems to turn into a titan...well a few.
Do you know any Ghouls? I mean, from what you said...it seems like they just want to live right?
[action]
[It seems like he's not going to be able to avoid admitting what he is if they keep talking about this. Then again...it's somehow nice to talk about it with someone who doesn't already have a bias one way or the other. Most people at home either hate ghouls or resent humans.]
It's just hard to convince anyone of that. Humans don't want to be eaten, and honestly, a lot of ghouls don't want to coexist with them.
...At least, that's what I think.
[action]
[He knows it probably sounds weird saying something the other likely knows. Marco just feels if they could coexist it might be simpler...but that would require everyone to work together.]
I can understand not wanting to be eaten...trust me, I just wonder if there is a way to work things out?
The ones that don't want to...I could see them making it hard.
