Have ghosts ever happened before? I thought when everyone died they just came back.
It was the first time that I've died here. I don't really know what it's supposed to be but I guess it wasn't what I expected.
I didn't expect to be a ghost.
Unless that was the horror part.
Has anyone been there before to know what else happens?

I've seen them elsewhere, but not here.
I haven't been here as long as some people, though.
It's very possible that ghosts HAVE happened here before, however temporarily.

What happens with your ghosts?

Mostly they wander around our school and make great nuisances of themselves.
Some of them are delightful conversationalists at dinner, however.

Does everyone become a ghost?

Well, they move about, but yes, they're always there.
I don't think so. Only those with unfinished business stay behind.

I guess everyone here counts as having unfinished business then since we never disappear.
Have you known anyone to stop being a ghost?

Well, most of us want to go home, and that coutns as unfinished business.
But any ghosts here seem to have been temporary.

Back home? The ghosts just are. They never change, never leave.
I hear that if some resolve their business they pass on to the other side, but the ghosts at school like being there.

Why would they like being a ghost? Doesn't it just remind them that they're dead?

?Well, I hear they throw some great death-day parties.
Anyway, everyone likes Hogwarts, so maybe if it means they get to stay...

Death-day parties sound depressing.
What do they do at the school?

Haunt things. Visit with the students in their favored houses.
We have a ghost who lives in the library and just reads all day and all night.
And one who lives in one of the music rooms and plays beautiful classical pieces.

I couldn't imagine doing that all the time.
Can they go anywhere else?

You know, I never thought to ask.
They might. Do you think ghosts go visiting other ghosts on holiday?

It would be nicer for them. To be able to still do something or go somewhere and not be stuck.
