[He's been around since about one in the morning, but he was conked out on the bed due to wow coming back to life sucks almost as much as dying. His body still aches from the ordeal, but Dave pushes through it.

[Dave's honestly caught off-guard by this, and blinks for a moment. He wraps his arms around John, looking away.]

I'm not about to blame you for the completely fucked choice Serket made. She was unstable to begin with. 'Sides, isn't it a knight's job or whatever to protect people and shit?

Not if you're going to die. And I blame myself for it. I don't even blame Vriska. Just me.

A knight's just a fancy word for a soldier. It's pretty much expected to protect you and everyone else or fuckin' die tryin'. Not like I die for the hell of it. I either fucked up somewhere or I wasn't strong enough.

[John nods. Now that that's decided, he feels he can get back to more important things.

He wiggles up Dave's chest a little bit and presses a soft, nervous kiss to his boyfriend's lips.]

[Dave shrugs a little.]

Not like you can help it. Still pretty uncharacteristically pissed at spider bitch, but I'm gettin' a handle on it.

[He's not terribly inclined on dying again, honestly.]

[John shivers a little at the order and decides to hit the middle ground and do both.]

[Dave approves, and then attempts turn an innocent kiss into a French one. He's not even sorry about it.]

[John gasps, his fingers sort of scratching at the roof. They've done this a few times before, but, well. French kissing is strange, right? You just sort of move your tongues around? He understood that it was supposed to feel good but he just hasn't...quite gotten it yet.

Not to mention, he knows what happens when things feel good, and he doesn't know if he wants to give Dave the satisfaction of doing that to him. Not yet, anyway.

So he just sort of sits there stiffly, allowing Dave access to his mouth but not...really...doing anything with his own. After all, there's no way to hide anything in this position. So. He'll just. Yeah. Sit there.]

[Oh, damn, he always forgets that John's like a deer in headlights with this sort of thing. It mildly frustrates him, but he figures it's a whole new thing to him.

Dave tries, though. Just a little at a time. First, he applies gentle pressure on John's tongue, kind of massaging, kind of kneading it, and sees what happens.]

John exhaled shakily, wondering if Dave wanted him to respond in kind. That was the only way he was going to learn, right?

So he sort of...moved his tongue back against Dave's, resisting the urge to start giggling at the sensation.]
