[The video clicks on to just Billy's face and he moves the camera back quickly because no one wants to see him that close up. He's sitting on a couch in a room with book shelves behind him and he smiles awkwardly at the camera.]

Err. Hi. So. I had been thinking recently, what with all the stuff this place has been throwing at us and everything, maybe it was time to have a place for the people who come from worlds with magic who can use it or even who want to learn to study or train. We have a fitness room, and a training center but no magic studies room. So uh, I made one.

[He pans the camera around the show everyone the room, before the camera comes back to his face.]

Its not much yet, but I was hoping that anyone who is interested would come and contribute what they know from their worlds. A place we can meet and teach each other or just hang out and discuss whatever. Its on the first floor next to the training center. I'll be here for a while but anyone is free to stop by whenever.

[There really wasn't much else to say so he shot the camera another grin before turning the video off.]

Oh. That sounds interesting actually. What does it make people see? And why? [Sorry Hazel, he's going to ask a lot of questions now. He's always curious about other worlds.]

[Except she was a whole different level of weird. god-mode level of weird, one might say...]

Whatever we want them to see.

And usually...it was to cover our tracks. Hide a fight happening, or a monster showing up. Most people are better off not knowing what's going on around them, if you know what I mean.

[Don't worry Hazel he's a chaos magic messiah whose apparently going to rewrite the laws of magic at some point in his future. He's used to god mode levels of weird.

He has a lot questions for her.]

Monsters? What kind of monsters?

All kinds. But mostly the ones who wanted to kill us all the time.

[Not even joking.]

I do find that most monsters like killing. So what kind of monsters are we talking here? Like Dracula levels or Swamp-thing? Oh or the blob? Which never really seemed that scary to me.

[The...Blob? Swamp Thing?]

[Hazel recognized neither of those monsters; they were after her time. Though, she did at least recognize Dracula; Belga Lugosi's film had come out only a couple years after she was born.]

More like Cyclopses and Giants and Hellhounds.

[So, basically, Green/Roman mythology monsters.]

[ Well, one out of three is good. Though the monsters she names definitely caught his attention. ]

Cyclopses? Like in the Odyssey?

[She nodded]

You see, where I come from...those stories...aren't just stories.

[She didn't look like she came from Ancient Greece...]

So the myths are real?

[Sorry. Demigod code. The only reasons she was revealing as much as she already had was because she'd met others here who were (somewhat) In The Know. And since it seemed that Billy was also not entirely human...she couldn't tell him everything, but she could offer hints.]

I mean...I don't know if they're the same where you come from, but I can vouch for the fact that they're real for us.

[ Aww, hints are good though. He can take hints and draw conclusions. ]

So, are you from Ancient Greece? [Which he realizes is a stupid question because it wouldn't be ancient to her, it would just be Greece. ] I mean, like, when are you from?

[Umm, excuse you, why was it people always assumed the ancient legends were Greek? She was a proud Roman demigod, thank you very much.]

New Orleans. I grew up in the French Quarter.

[...and also a proud Southern Girl, through and through.]

But I was living in California before I came here.

[Because he mentioned the Odyssey and she knew what he meant. ~~And because they were Greek first~~.

Ok, then at least sort of modern day. At least as far back at the last century or so.]

What year was it? I'm from New York, 2013.

I've always wanted to go to New Orleans.

[Now here was where Hazel had to pause. She had two options. Admit the era she had grown up in, which would better align with her worldly knowledge...or the time in which she (and her friends) had come from.]

Well...I was born in 1929.

[She'd already admitted as much to others. It was the easier option of the two.]

But I know about things from around your time as well. And I know about New York.

[Things that Billy would never have believed. She could still barely believe some of it.]

[Billy was from a world where people born in the 1920s were still young. A world where people came back from the dead almost all the time. So being born then and knowing about the modern world wasn't a surprise for him.]

Cool. Have you been to New York?

[She shook her head.]

No. But I have...uh...friends there.

[At least, she hoped. Now that things back home were starting to settle down and her fellow Roman demigods were no longer trying to attack their Greek counterparts out on Long Island.]

I've lived in Louisiana--[As might be evident by the slightest hint of New Orleans accent, faded with time an exposure to other dialects but more apparent whenever she spoke of her home.]--and Alaska and California, and I've traveled to other spots too. Like Italy. But not New York.

[She'd missed out on that battle.]

[He nods, listening.] That's cool, I've never been anywhere really. Well except for Latveria but I didn't really see much of it. And world jumping, but I don't really think that counts.

[She waved a hand in the air, indicating Wonderland as a whole.]

Haven't we all world-jumped, to end up here?
