I have question for those here longer than I have been.

If I kill one from other side, does it come back in the way people tell me happens on this side?

And how do I get one here, or go there? These are things I need to know.

It works differently on the other side. I killed my Mirror, it died over there, and it didn't come back like we do here, not for some time. But it did come back, eventually. I think the queen remade it.

[ A temporary queen who was never supposed to be queen, but that story is too old, and too irrelevant for this conversation. ]

Still, I'd say it was worth a try, but unfortunately it's not as simple as that. The Mirrors are the only ones capable of crossing sides, and as soon as they do we end up swapped. You can't be on the same side as they are, so it takes two to kill one Mirror. One person to get swapped, the other to go for the kill.

Unless you find a different way to their side. The only thing like that I can think of was the rabbit hole, but it's not where it used to be. I can't say if it's vanished, or just hiding someplace else right now.

How do I return?

You don't. You make the Mirror return. Force them to look at their reflection, and you force them to go back to their side, which switches the real person back over here.

[ Castiel doesn't have many material items that mean much to him, and his Mirror had taken one of them. A set of knives that he had never used much because somehow they'd become more important than their function.

Now they're gone, he suspects forever. His Mirror had no reason to want the knives unless there had been some purpose for them.

He isn't so upset that he wants to kill his Mirror for it, though, especially given how difficult that would be to pull off. Strange, but murder isn't his number one solution these days. ]

It's impossible to be on the same side as your Mirror, even if you were to switch. That would only put it here while you were there. [ And might put others in danger as a result. ]

... Could you start a new one? [ Scrapbook, he means. ]

[ Castiel hasn't made a scrapbook either, but he can see how it would become important to someone in not that much time. If she hadn't been granted that kind of luxury before, then Castiel can relate. One of his stolen items had been a journal, one he mainly used for the sake of work rather than play, but it had acquired meaning all the same.

She may be right that stealing is wrong, not that Castiel has hesitated to do that in some of his more desperate moments. ]

Many of us were stolen from. I suspect that there's some reason that they needed those items... I don't think it's a coincidence that the mansion repaired itself not long after the Mirrors returned to their side.

[ Difficult as it may be to accept, maybe those important items of theirs had been somehow necessary. ]

Apparently you can't without those weird rip things. I broke just about every piece of glass in this dumb mansion trying. [It's still kind of unsettling that all of those shattered mirrors managed to fix themselves so quick. It's hard not to feel like they're mocking him a little.] But hey, on the upside, Mabel will scrapbook just about anything if you let her. I'm sure she'd be all for makin' another or something.
