Sure, it may appear to be a comfortable mansion, but a place she is brought against her will is a prison no matter what it looks like.]

My name is Gamora. It looks like we are all prisoners here. I have no quarrel with you, but should you cross me, I will not hesitate to deal with you in ways you won’t enjoy. Let’s make that clear from the start.

[She is a captive, right? And she doesn’t know if the people here are hostile or not. She’s not about to let this turn into her last prison visit.]

This is not the first time I’ve been in a prison, though this one doesn’t look like the typical style I’m used to seeing. It’s far too… well, it doesn’t matter if it’s reasonably comfortable or not.

[The less sense it all makes the more irritated she gets.]

Who is in charge here? I demand to know why I've been brought here and where my crew is.

And what have you sorted out?

Firstly, that this place is fueled by magic. Second, when people do leave, apparently they remember nothing of Wonderland once they've gone. If they return in short order, they do so with all of their memories, but if they're gone too long and happen to resurface? Nothing. As though they'd never been here at all.

[He doesn't much care for that. Memories are not to be tampered with.]

[She frowns a little at that.]

Tampering with memories isn't as hard as some people think. There are some races and technology that can do it.

[Not that it should be done.]

Why are we here? Are you a criminal?

[Because this is a prison, right?]

However difficult it may or may not be, the fact remains that it's inconvenient at best.

[Which is, he realizes, putting it very mildly.]

A criminal? Me? Do you think I look the part? I always considered myself to be dashing rather than villainous.

Some criminals might be called dashing.

[She wouldn't call any that, but some might.]

You're quite right-- and I daresay I'm charming enough to pull off any number of evil schemes, but no, I'm afraid not. I'm no criminal.

[Though some might say being from Tevinter in itself is a crime.]

Simply a mage. Well, no, not simply. A rather brilliant mage, if I do say so myself.

Then maybe this isn't a prison. Not one for criminals, at least. There must be a reason why we're here.

There seem to be several theories about that circulating, as well.

[He doubts he's heard them all.]

I've heard one that suggests the magic from this place feeds off of us-- our memories.

So we're being used to feed some magical being?

[Now that she might be willing to buy. Otherwise why else would they be stuck here?]

Well, when I kill it, we can all return home.

Entirely possible, even if that being turns out to be Wonderland itself.

[The details remain fuzzy, but he finds that story believable enough, given the nature of magic.]

Kill it? I'm certain you'll have plenty of allies on that front, but dealing with magic isn't always so straightforward.
