Hey... so, I totally missed my one-year mark. Pretty sure that was right in the middle of the Infected shit storm-- that couldn't be related, could it? But, anyway, I'm hoping someone just forgot to come by and give me my special badge or whatever you get for this illustrious milestone? I forgive you for being late, since I completely forgot, and you can come by with that prize anytime. Unless it's just for the five-year guys, and if that's the case, then... booooo.

[ Ellie pulls a face, offering a helpful thumbs-down for the camera. ]

Anyway! "What I Learned on My Wonderland Vacation"... I'm way less likely to drown now! Thanks, Jo. [ ... ] Uh, I know way too much about a lot of your personal lives, which is... gross, sometimes. There are kids here, people. [ Some of you are just nasty. ] I figured out exactly how much molten chocolate cake I can down before I get sick. That's three, and I'd say they're all big accomplishments. ... Except that middle one.

[ There are a bunch of other things, too, but her attention is already wandering and she yawns to prove it. ]

Uhh, well I'm pretty new. And I've never seen anything as powerful as Wonderland, or whatever's powering it.

[ she shrugs, trying to get across her very major lack of certainty when it comes to anything wonderland. ]

Even if it's memories doing the powering like people say, there should be some kind of offset.

Magic in my world's kind of about balance-- or at least that's a part of it, anyway. Like how if you fill a tub up to the brim and then get in, the water comes out? That's how power can be-- it has to go somewhere or be balanced out by something.

[ bonnie wonders if she's even making sense. explaining magic isn't exactly something bonnie's all that equipped to do, still... ]

... Right. [ It makes sense in an objective, distant kind of way, but without any experience and without seeing it firsthand, there's only so much she can grasp. ] Sounds like it's just another science, almost.

[ Isn't that the whole debate? Magic versus science/technology? ]

I think you could definitely call it that. It's just a little more immediate than what science seems to be.

Depends on the science. Some reactions happen right away, you know?

Oh. Yeah, I guess that is true. That was the only time science class was any fun, too.

I guess then it's also sort of an art? You have to feel it to use it, if that makes sense.

I don't think science was ever fun, but I remember some of it.

Fortunately my life isn't all scary magic and explosions. Though I do still wish it was more ice cream and parties...

Uh, you could get ice cream literally any time here. And you could probably throw a party pretty easily, since stuff is free and people are... everywhere.
