[ Sarah's lounging in bed, hair up in a ponytail, and she doesn't have much to say except: ]
Why are there no old people here? You know, like...I'm going to go out on a limb and say I definitely haven't seen anyone over 60. And I'm talking visually. Don't be a smart ass and tell me you're over 1,000, I get it, some of you are immortal or magic or...whatever. I'm just saying, no one appears to be over the age of, I don't know, post mid-life crisis.
I wonder why that would be? Wonderland has a youthful aesthetic to maintain? If you're over, say, 65 in human years, raise your hand.

So, you got any theories? Maybe it's like virgin sacrifices, they just need young people here. Although given how much this place runs on memories, you'd think they'd want older people.
no subject
[ But to backtrack for a second. ]
You don't age? Or you'll just keep looking like you're in your mid-thirties forever?
[ Yes that was somehow a compliment in Sarah's world. ]
no subject
[...well, technically he's dead, so.]
Nah just lucked out on looking young so far. I expect back home I'd have looked older eventually. Probably.
no subject
But I mean, it'd be interesting if it was virgins. Sorry. Getting off the virgins.
[ WOW. Pun not intended, and she rolls her eyes at herself. ]
You know what I meant. Moving on.
Maybe old people are too mellow to get riled up about all the things that happen. I mean, at a certain point you just aren't going to be able to run and fight the way this place seems to always want us to.
no subject
[But there are a lot of children here. Which brings up another point, together with what she says.]
Lots of people to look after here. Makes me run and fight.
no subject
[ He's right though, and she nods, thinking about the kids she's met, and the people she'd protect regardless of age if she's able to. ]
I don't have much to offer in the way of actual skills, but I'd fight for a lot of the people here.

[Not that he ever really thought he'd be the type to go around teaching anyone but Lisa how to take care of themselves, but this place is different and even before then, Leonard can work in a team. Look out for people.]
But yeah. I still don't know if anything here has any reasoning behind it. Maybe we're entertaining someone.
no subject
[ Sarah nods at his idea about this place, though. ]
Agreed. I think someone just likes seeing what we do, how we cope with things. Why watch us, otherwise?
no subject
[All he can offer to the question is a shrug.]
Who knows? Allegedly it's Wonderland, there being no rhyme or reason may be the point.

Guess trying to make sense of it helps some people cope. Just dunno if there is much to it.
no subject
[ That'd be weird, if people just did that, right? Who accepts being held captive (more or less) that easily? ]
no subject
Though not everyone here wants to leave. Don't think everyone here has something to get back to.
[He doesn't.]
Or they know they have something bad awaiting them.

[ Not that she's ever done hot yoga, but it's normal and boring is her point. ]
This place is a...maybe 'culture shock' isn't the right phrase. But I think wanting to stay because it's better than home and having to take some time to catch your breath aren't necessarily mutually exclusive, you know?
[ Because God knows her brother is conflicted, she knows that. As if his life wasn't shitty enough, but that's a whole other conversation, probably to only be had with Kurt. ]
no subject
Yeah, not saying it is. If I'd gotten any choice in where to go on holiday, a place like this wouldn't have been it.
no subject
[ Most forms of exercise make her want to die, but then add a hot and steaming room to it? No. Thanks. ]
no subject
Well. Maybe less doing yoga and more drinking a beer.
[Not really his style.]
I was in a steam room in Russia not that long ago. Fun times.
no subject
[ She shrugs; when she was twenty she still wouldn't have done it considering she was busy being pregnant. And honestly, everyone knows it's just showing off. ]
I'd rather drink the beer, personally.
no subject
[He's also somehow a fan of as many clothes as possible, which seems like a contradiction. Ah, well.]
Cold beer, yeah. We're on the same page.
