[ Sarah's lounging in bed, hair up in a ponytail, and she doesn't have much to say except: ]

Why are there no old people here? You know, like...I'm going to go out on a limb and say I definitely haven't seen anyone over 60. And I'm talking visually. Don't be a smart ass and tell me you're over 1,000, I get it, some of you are immortal or magic or...whatever. I'm just saying, no one appears to be over the age of, I don't know, post mid-life crisis.

I wonder why that would be? Wonderland has a youthful aesthetic to maintain? If you're over, say, 65 in human years, raise your hand.

Wow, that's...a little mind breaking to think about. And so weird, I don't want a younger version of my brother to show up or something if he disappears as he is now.

[ Somehow, this makes her think of younger...everything, which makes her think of Taylor, which makes her realize Taylor could show up. Five-year-old Taylor, pre-murder.

Shit. Fuck. ]

I mean, since we don't have a lot of older people here, and there are a lot of kids, any idea what the youngest anyone has ever been here?

[ There's now a slight edge to her voice, though she's trying to keep looking calm and collected. ]

[ Sharon muses aloud, mock-innocently. ] You mean, you don't want to have to change Kurt's diapers? [ THINK ABOUT IT, SARAH! ] He wore those until he was about ten, right? [ She grins at Sarah, knowing - knowing - she's given Sarah some serious nightmare fuel. She might not have siblings herself, but she knows people who have siblings.

She grows a little more serious to answer the question and allay Sarah's fears what little she can. ] The youngest I know of is... eight, maybe? He's young, but able to communicate and take care of himself, at least. I don't think I've heard of anyone under five years old here without it being an event.

[ She lowers her voice. ] So maybe Kurt will need you to change his diaper after all.

If that happened, honestly, I'd owe it to him for every single diaper he changed for me when I had my son.

[ Or...whatever. ]

And by the time he was ten he was making me full on dinner and helping me brush my teeth at night.

[ She does smile though because she appreciates the joke. Kurt was just...too much of her only father figure to even imagine him ever as a kid. She can't remember him ever acting like one. Maybe it'd be good for him to get to de-age a little bit, but that's not the point. ]

At least this place seems to have some kind of standard, I guess. Even if the bar has been set super low.

[ Ugh. Sharon falls back in her chair. ]

You know, I was trying to tease you. And you just... ruined it. Impressive. Irritating, but impressive.

[ Her grin fades. ] I do worry a bit about the kids here, though. [ After a moment, she continues on, awkwardly. ] I don't think you've mentioned your son before. Is he... too young to come to Wonderland, do you think?

Sorry, sorry, I can be jokey, I just...something's on my mind.

[ She half smiles, but then frowns again, shaking her head. ]

No. He's ten.

[ Ten isn't young enough to be considered off-limits or whatever by Wonderland. Sharon frowns, leaning forward in concern. ] Is that what's bothering you? Or-

[ She catches herself. She has a tendency to overstep, and Sarah has had enough go wrong in her life that she doesn't need an overstepping ex-SHIELD, ex-CIA agent on top of that. ]

We don't have to talk if you don't want to. If you want to drink, or shoot, or just... I don't know. Whatever helps, though, I'm available. It's not like I've got a strict schedule.

[ Sarah bites her bottom lip, letting out a heavy breath. ]

My brother and I, we uh. We had a childhood best friend. Her name was Taylor. She and I were the same age. And when we were five, she...disappeared. Kurt's spent his entire life looking for her. We thought Jane might be her but...she's not.

[ For now, Sarah omits the rest of that story. This is the only relevant piece for today. ]

And I just...thought...what if Wonderland brings her here? Because this place likes torturing people so much and that would kill Kurt.

[ Sharon goes quiet, wondering if this was the betrayal - or part of the betrayal - Jane had told her about. Sarah and Jane's world might actually be even more dramatic than Sharon's own. ]

It's possible. [ She speaks slowly, choosing her words with care. ] If that would really hurt Kurt, though, it's likely that something about her will show up during an event. Wonderland seems to know everything about us, and if it knows that Taylor would hurt him... I'd definitely be on the lookout for that.

[ Nothing is probably more dramatic than Tony Stark on any given day, but. That's a digression. Anyway. ]

Fantastic. Gotta fucking love Wonderland.

[ Sarah takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly, then manages a small smile at Sharon. ]

I'm sorry. I took this conversation down a bummer road.

Don't you just? [ Sharon's tone is wry. She understands.

Her eyebrows raise and her lips press together when Sarah mentions the bummer road. ]

Yep. Yes, you did. But it's Wonderland. Wonderland is pretty much at the corner of Bummer Road and What the Fuck Is It Now Avenue. Don't worry about it.

So if I see some kid running around calling herself Taylor, do you want me to shove her in a closet or empty room until you can give Kurt a heads up?
