[ when the feed clicks on, it's of allison on her bed. she's looking off to the side, a tad worried. ]
So uh- [ her eyes come back to the feed, and she smiles a little. it's tired and a little sad, but she's trying. ] Two things. One, I'm not sure who all knew Lydia Martin, but she went home.
[ allison's not happy about that. not when she knows what's waiting for her. what she's going to see. but allison's already lived through it, so she can't really say much. this shouldn't really be news to too many of the others from home, seeing as she had gone around asking about lydia before making this announcement.
but then her eyes shift again, back off to the side. what the feed can't see is that allison's staring at the mirror hanging off the door to her closet, where she's had various versions of help me, please written in all different markers and make-up and anything that could be written on a mirror. ]
Secondly, anyone know what's happening in the mirrors? [ she's looking off in that direction and something happens, and it makes allison jump. in a matter of moments she's standing up off the bed and moving over closer to the mirror, turning the feed so that everyone can see it now. what the camera can see is that the mirror looks broken, almost shattered, but when allison reaches out to touch it, the pads of her fingers move smooth over the glass. ] Or better question- do we know if it'll stay over there?
[ and that's where she ends it. ]

But he knows her name: Allison. He knows that during that event, she'd been the Archeress. There's no guarantee that the two of them will have a similar interaction now that things are back to normal, but regardless, she's asking an important question.
What's happening on the mirror side?
It's not as if Castiel hasn't seen the messages, and he's heard from Dean that it has something to do with overgrown plants overtaking the mansion. But Allison's broken mirror -- that's new.
So he sends over a reply, managing it with little to no technical difficulties.]
It would be safest to assume that it's going to reach this side eventually. Have you heard the details? There's a... foliage infestation.
castiel. he'd also gone by guardian, and they'd known each other. been allies. she'd been comfortable around him then, and in a way it bleeds over, with the way she's not bothered by the fact she doesn't know him here. she even smiles a little, but not much. ]
Just that it's destroying the mirror world or whatever. Is there more?
At Allison's question, he shakes his head.] All I've found out is that there are roots that have sprouted all over their side of the mansion that are attacking them and breaking the mirrors and closets.
[It doesn't sound pleasant, but seeing how they've had more than enough events to deal with on this side, Castiel can hardly say this is inappropriate.]
There doesn't seem to be any way to help them.
Have you been able to talk to any of them? [ there are messages written on her glass, but she'd come in too late. hadn't actually been able to ask. ]
[Castiel shrugs and shakes his head. It doesn't sound good, whatever's going on there, and with no way to help the Mirrors, he suspects the worst may happen. He has no idea what force has decided to attack the Queen of Hearts' creations. While he could see this as a good thing, the fact is that they don't need even more unknown enemies to worry about.]
I've heard that some of the Mirrors are dangerous, but I doubt that all of them deserve this. [Not that anyone on this side deserves the events, either. But Castiel spoke to one of the Mirrors when he first arrived here, and while he doesn't know who it was, they had been very polite and helpful.]
Re: [video]
[ allison doesn't like the idea that there's no way to fight them off. the mirrors might be primarily jerks, from what allison has seen, but they couldn't deserve this any more than they - on this side of the mirror - deserve it if it comes over. but then castiel ends up saying exactly what she's thinking, and allison shakes her head. ]
They deserve it as much as we deserve any of the things here. I guess I just never thought about if the stuff that happens here happens over there too.
[Castiel shakes his head. Everyone had told him that events didn't happen on the mirrorside, which means he can't help but wonder if some of the Mirrors' bad attitudes stem almost entirely from boredom. A group of soldiers with no battles to fight.
Now they have more than they could have expected, and chances are they're not prepared for it. This entire situation is a mess, and Castiel can only imagine it's going to get worse.]
But as far as I know, they're clueless.
[ that thought...worries her. not just because of the havoc its wreaking on the other side of the mirrors, but what it could mean for them. what it could mean when it comes to their side of things. ]
So I guess you're in the same 'prepare for the worst' boat?
[But he hasn't been here all that long. Maybe not even as long as Allison. He doesn't know her well enough to say.
At her question, he offers a grim nod.] Do you have the same skills here that you had during that event? [It was bound to come up, and it's his way of checking whether or not she'll be able to take care of herself when the inevitable happens.]
[ she sounds exhausted, but accepting. she's already reached the point that death and destruction and the idea of imminent danger in wonderland is just a way of life.
at his question, she pauses, because she hadn't necessarily expected him to bring up that event. after the pause, she can't hide the very small, sheepish smile, before she nods. ] I don't- [ she purses her lips, trying to remember the event a little more clearly. ] I don't have the weapons, but I have the same skills, yeah.
The closets should be able to give you the weapons you need. Have you tried asking?
[An archer should be able to do some good against those roots, at least when it comes to keeping them at bay.]
I have a bow. And some other things. What I had there was just on a bigger...I don't know. Scale? [ and this is totally not because just remembering what some of her arrows could do sort of scared allison a little. she'll stick to flash-bombs and stainless steel arrowheads thank you. ]
He nods his understanding, though. Allison seems to know that she can ask a closet for whatever she needs, so she might prefer to keep things simple.]
Is there a reason you learned to hunt? [From what Castiel understands, most humans don't pick up archery except as a hobby, but that doesn't seem to be the case with Allison. There must be some other reason.]
but then she freezes up again, eyes going a little wide because what happened to hunting and secrecy but she shifts the feed to private before she answers. ]
It runs in the family. I kind of had to.
Between that and her response about her family, there can really only be one explanation for what she is. She seems a bit young, but then again, Sam and Dean had started young too.]
You're a hunter. [If she is, she should know the difference in meaning. That he doesn't just mean hunting animals for sport or food, but something else entirely.]
so instead of answer, she just nods, clenching her jaw to keep herself from biting her lip. when she meets eyes with castiel, again, it's waiting for a reaction. good, bad, something. if he knows what hunters are then he should have some kind of reaction to it. maybe he is one, like sam.
how many of them are here, anyway? ]
But he's the last person she would need to hide that from. Castiel's fond of hunters. He's got a handful of them as friends. In fact, almost all of his friends are hunters.]
In that case, I'm sure you'll be more than capable of dealing with the roots, if they choose to cross over. [What are some sentient roots compared to a vampire or a werewolf?]
which is why she relaxes when castiel doesn't seem to mind, even smiling a little. ] Thanks. Never had to deal with roots before, but there's a first time for everything.
Are you a hunter?
... Not exactly, but I work with a few of them. And I've helped out on a number of jobs.
[He isn't against the idea of transitioning to becoming a hunter, or at least to helping when he can, but everything else continues to get in the way. He's had more luck with being useful here than he has back home, at least lately.]
Not exactly? [ she's curious, really curious. her knowledge of the hunter world is small, selective. finding more hunters makes her want to know what their lives are like, if her family is normal or if there are other options out there. other ways to survive. ] Are you an emissary?
Then again, there isn't much reason to hide it, not when Allison appears to be one of the "good guys." Granted, he's judging from an event for that, but nothing he's heard during this conversation has contradicted it.
If Castiel's more easily disposed to her than most humans he first meets, then it's the event's fault.]
That term might have applied to me once, when my loyalties were to Heaven. These days, I fight with them. For them. [His gaze shifts to the side, a small hint of awkwardness.]
maybe it won't work out in her favor, but for now she's not really questioning it.
but her brow does furrow a bit, seeing as she's fairly sure they're having a miscommunication of words here. ] Heaven?
[ a beat, and then. ]
You're an angel. [ and it's said with a little bit of mysticism. thankfully, this is private. ] Sorry, uh. When I said Emissary I meant like a druid. Someone who can use magic.
Had he known that he was giving her hope, he might have smiled wryly, against all odds. Because that's what angels are meant for, and yet he's so rarely been allowed to fill that role.]
My abilities might resemble magic to an untrained eye. They're useful when it comes to hunting -- I can smite most creatures with a touch.
[Sometimes touch isn't even necessary. All he has to do is lift his arm and project heavenly power outward. There's a blindingly bright light, and a moment later anything monstrous would be dead.
Yes, it comes in handy.]
having your faith validated, as strange of a way as it may be, is some of the best news she's gotten in a while. especially when it's someone like castiel, who she can't help but trust already. ]
What all can you do? With your powers. Or abilities. Do you have wings?
[ she realizes a moment later that her sudden interview-like excitement might be a little much, and she looks a little sheepish afterwards. ] Sorry. I've just never met an angel before. Didn't even- [ know the existed, but she should know better than that. instead, she just ends up shaking her head. ]
There aren't very many of them here, at least. She might go a little longer before being completely disillusioned.
He isn't all that bothered by her questions or her enthusiasm. Both of them are regular, the sort of thing he's been on the receiving end of before. Castiel shakes his head.]
It's fine. I do have wings, which I can use to move from one place to another in less than a second, regardless of the distance. I have a holy blade I can wield, and as I mentioned, my divine power can turn most supernatural creatures to dust instantly.
[There's much, much more, but those are the basic, obvious things that he can do.]
