[ when the feed clicks on, it's of allison on her bed. she's looking off to the side, a tad worried. ]
So uh- [ her eyes come back to the feed, and she smiles a little. it's tired and a little sad, but she's trying. ] Two things. One, I'm not sure who all knew Lydia Martin, but she went home.
[ allison's not happy about that. not when she knows what's waiting for her. what she's going to see. but allison's already lived through it, so she can't really say much. this shouldn't really be news to too many of the others from home, seeing as she had gone around asking about lydia before making this announcement.
but then her eyes shift again, back off to the side. what the feed can't see is that allison's staring at the mirror hanging off the door to her closet, where she's had various versions of help me, please written in all different markers and make-up and anything that could be written on a mirror. ]
Secondly, anyone know what's happening in the mirrors? [ she's looking off in that direction and something happens, and it makes allison jump. in a matter of moments she's standing up off the bed and moving over closer to the mirror, turning the feed so that everyone can see it now. what the camera can see is that the mirror looks broken, almost shattered, but when allison reaches out to touch it, the pads of her fingers move smooth over the glass. ] Or better question- do we know if it'll stay over there?
[ and that's where she ends it. ]

hey
I don't really know what's up with you
but we should talk. or hang out. or something.
audio;
You know how in horror movies you always wanna tell the person not to call out "Who's there?" when there's an axe murderer in their house? Or not to go down the dark hallway?
I'm getting that feeling.
audio;
Yeah. [ and now she's just going to never let that mirror out of her sight nope. ] I just wish there was a dark hallway I could not go down.
audio;
Want me to break all the lights in the hallway outside your room?
[ It's not like he hasn't damaged that hallway before. ]
audio;
How about no.
[ but she's laughing a bit anyway. ]
audio;
Just remember: I offered. You could have had the best horror movie plot, but you turned it down.
[ He sounds utterly amused too. Though he probably would break all the lights if she'd asked. ]
audio;
Except I would have been the one to die, so it wouldn't have been the best at all.
[ she knows. which is part of the reason she didn't even joke about saying yes. ]
audio;
I'm not going to let you die again. [ There's something of a set finality in his voice, and he means it. You're not going alone. It's the same tone. It's almost like he thinks if he wills it enough, it'll become true. ]
Besides, we could take an axe murderer.
audio;
the tone of his voice throws her off a little bit, but only for half a second. then it sinks in what he means and what he's talking about and she can't help but smile a little. she could make some remark to lighten the mood, but she almost doesn't want to. ]
Yeah, axe murderers don't scare me. Crazy demon children are a little harder to deal with, though.
audio;
I'll take care of the crazy demon children as long as you take care of any creepy Japanese ghosts. [ Someone has seen far too many horror movies with little Asian ghosts in them. ] Something about the super long hair freaks me out.
audio;
[ sorry bro, she's only seen the ring. ]
But deal. Ghosts don't scare me as much anyway.
audio;
[ There's a "Hmm" noise as if he doesn't like the memory before the subject is changed. ]
Is there even a way to kill ghosts? They're already dead.
audio;
[ she wasn't around long enough that her first thought is his father. she knows, but forgets, which is why she doesn't just let it go. but yes, subject change, right. ]
There's a way. There's a lot of lore on it everywhere. I haven't asked my dad about it yet, but I should- [ and then she ends up pressing her lips into a thin line. god she misses her dad. ] When I go back home, I mean.
audio;
You think he's gonna show up here? I keep wondering if my dad will. It'd be weird. But your dad is pretty cool. Kinda terrifying.
audio;
[ she doesn't sound very hopeful about this fact, but hey. her aunt kate could show up tomorrow for all she knows. that would be fun.
but then she laughs a little. ]
Yeah, he does that a lot. Something about making sure my guy friends all know how dangerous he can be if he needs to, or something.
[ the or something is where the whole 'hunters vs. werewolf' thing is folded in, but allison doesn't feel like she needs to harp on that point. ]
audio;
[ So basically he'd wanna kill Isaac more than he does already... unfortunately he doesn't know about the future where her dad doesn't seem to hate him that much. ]
I'm pretty sure if he had a reason he'd run me over or something... [ There is a playfulness in his voice, except that isn't true and Isaac knows it. He'd saved him from Cora and Boyd. ]
Hey Allison? [ That's a tone she should pay attention to. He sounds pretty hesitant. ]
audio;
You don't have to worry about that. He's not out for blood anymore. And he trusts me to pick who I want to hang out with.
[ he'd let her go out and save them, after all. even after deliberately telling her she shouldn't.
but then she stops, because she does hear that tone shift, and she's a little worried about it. ]
Yeah?
audio;
[ It isn't an offer of protection, even if he would fight for her if Godzilla or Mothra climbed out of her mirror or closet. It's an offer of friendship. She lost Lydia, her mirror is doing weird shit and now she misses her dad. He knows what it is like to miss a best friend and his dad... ] Or you know, I'm having a really weird craving for macaroni and cheese. We could get something to eat? [ That is not an invitation for a date... who eats mac n cheese on dates. That is a totally platonic friend hang out offer...
Not that he is ever all that good at leaving her alone when she wants to be... He is a lot better at creeping through windows and providing company regardless of whether she wants it or not. ]
audio;
see, the thing is, allison doesn't want to be alone. she wants someone to be there, and maybe even more than one someone, just to keep her mind off things. things she really shouldn't be thinking about because she has no control over them. things that she can't change. but this need to be around people? that's a weakness. that's something that she shouldn't need, because she's strong enough to do this.
it's not like lydia's dead. it's not like her dad is dead (yet). but sometimes it's hard to remember that, and sometimes she just needs to let herself relax. ]
I haven't had mac and cheese in forever. [ and sure, it makes her think of her mom. of days when they'd spend all day cooking random things in the kitchen, most of which turned out badly. ] That actually sounds really good.
audio;
He probably wouldn't let her be alone even if she said she wanted to be at least not for a long time. Sometimes he does worry about her, he knows what it's like to lose family and to have so much going on in life. The idea of pack has been forced upon him, and after going through life with hardly no one, well, it's easy to see that having people there is a lot nicer than not. He doesn't consider it weakness.
When she'd come back from Beacon Hills, soaking wet and obviously not okay, it was a little overwhelming. Especially when she'd hugged him, it was something he hadn't expected to need so much, but after all the stuff with Scott, it was a relief to have someone to just hug. It made him feel good to know he made her feel a little better as well, even if she'd tried to get away from him as fast as possible.
They're definitely friends and after she'd come back she was definitely acting more like it, which is a bit of a relief for the future. It was weird how easily they'd settled into getting along. ] See you in a minute.
