[Hello Wonderland. It's been a while since Sirius' arrival but taken a while to adjust. Suits of armor, psychopaths, the world breaking into pieces. Even for a wizard that's a lot to process.
The idea of a network is brilliant, but he's not had much of a reason to use it yet. Until now.]
Hello,
[Young, handsome, English and well articulated, he's sitting with an easy grace and confidence that is clearly identifiable as upper class.]
My name is Sirius Black. [Because it's only polite to introduce yourself, right? James is lurking somewhere in the background with a large red pool inner tube. The kind you might float along a water ride in.]
I'm lead to believe there is a swimming pool here. In fact, I know there is, but what I find surprising is that it is completely deserted.
Now, unless the water is poisonous, which it's not because I threw James in and he's not dead or grown a second head, I think we should fix this.
So, what I think I'm proposing, is something of a pool party.
[Do you see that glint in his eye? Bikinis are optional. He goes to sign off but quickly has a second thought and comes back to centre.]
Ah, also I've been told that I've apparently been seen here before? For the record I have no knowledge of this and therefore accept no responsibility whatsoever for any of my previous self's doings.
...But...if you have a good story, I'm all ears.
Cheers.

action;
Of course, Sirius has only seen him, y'know, dead and cut open, so Souji's a bit circumspect about his entrance to the pool area. Not shy at all, but he certainly doesn't strike a pose, just stands and looks around to see who is there before approaching Sirius (and possibly James), wherever he might be.]
action;
The thing about seeing a dead person is...you're never quite prepared for it.
A ghost is one thing, Sirius has met loads of them. You can't avoid it when your school is bloody crawling in them.
But someone back from the dead? (Zombie??)
He's not had to really deal with that before.
He's also not been told about the rules and regulations of Wonderland death.
So it's not exactly a surprise when Sirius actually jumps and points with a noise something less than manly.]
action;
...Okay, nope, it's just him Sirius is shrieking at.
Not sure how else to respond, Souji raises a hand in a vague wave.]
Hey. Sirius. Nice to meet you finally.
action;
And...oh, it's Souji. It doesn't immediately dawn on James why Sirius would be so startled, but he grins and waves at Souji (who he is one hundred percent completely unsurprised to see alive and well).]
Souji! Glad you made it!
[It seems more than a little tacky to introduce them properly at this point, since Souji was a corpse the last time Sirius met him. Besides, Souji's clearly got this figured out.
It's still not clicking, but there's obviously something very wrong here so he turns his attention to Sirius.] ...You alright, mate?
action;
H-how?! How is he here!?
action;
James forgot to tell you we come back. [He raises his eyebrows at James.]
Sorry you saw it. [His dead and gored-up body, that is. Souji's pretty sure he wouldn't have wanted to see it either.]
action;
What? No, there's no way...I know I did. I must have!
[But he looks at Sirius, searching his face, and either their usual ability to speak without words has vanished or he really didn't tell him. And it actually makes James freeze for a second, because that's a major piece of information to just not tell someone - especially Sirius.]
But...Minato asked about it and you were right there! Weren't you?
[James is searching his memories though and the more he thinks about it, the less he's sure Sirius was present. But it was right after he almost died so Sirius had to have been there, right? Right??
...Though, he did get up at some point, didn't he? Maybe...no, that was definitely it. Sirius got up and missed it. James puts both hands to his temples and tugs at his hair - he looks completely mortified and guilty.]
I...I am so sorry, Padfoot. Honest to Merlin, I thought I told you about it. Everyone comes back to life if they die.
action;
He clenches his fist, shaking his head first to Souji - this isn't his fault - before turning on James.]
You didn't think that was something important to mention? Oh, Sirius, you've been plucked into bloody Wonderland and it's full of magic and dragons and- oh, people can come back from the bloody dead! [He hisses, seething mad. It's not even about Souji, not really, but they've just lived through a murder spree that James, himself, very nearly didn't survive and perhaps he's still affected by that!]
action;
Buuuut they are kind of in the middle of a bunch of people who are having fun, and Souji's been here a long time. He knows how things that are really important to newcomers are taken for granted by people who have been here as long as James and Souji. Things slip your mind when you've accepted them as normal.
He moves forward, not getting between the two of them or on one side or the other, but making sure he's in line of sight.]
There was a lot going on. [He keeps his voice calm.] And there's a lot to tell about this place.
action;
I...It never came up before then! It's not exactly the first thing you want to say to someone when they've just turned up! Oh, it's great to see you! It's been months since you were here! Missed you lots! Oh, and by the way people can come back from the bloody dead!
[It's probably not super mature or smart of him to throw that back at him, but he's at a loss. There was never a good time for this conversation and James had thought they'd had this conversation a couple of weeks ago. He's kicking himself though because wow, obviously not. What had he thought Sirius had done with that knowledge? Just gone "oh, alright then" and left it at that? He'd never! Not with something as important as coming back from the dead.]
Look...I'm sorry. There really is a lot to tell and it's just a lot to take in at once, that's all! I never wanted to keep anything from you - you know I wouldn't want that!
[It's true, but as soon as it's out of his mouth he knows it won't satisfy Sirius. They're excuses and they aren't good enough but James doesn't know what else to do.]
action;
He should understand that this is a very strange predicament and it will only get stranger the longer he is here.
He should understand that James would never unintentionally tell him something so important. That maybe he hadn't been listening or had wandered away during a conversation and missed this little gem of information.
But as it stands, his hands ball into fists and his expression turns from stunned to stormy.]
Is that right. [He answers. It's not a question. Not really, just something to throw at him that isn't a string of offensive or hurtful words he likely doesn't mean.]
Because I think that might be the first thing I'd say considering everything here seems to go through considerably great lengths to attempt to murder us.
What else aren't you telling me? If I jump off the roof will I grow wings? Every Thursday a pack of wraiths gathers in the library and play bridge?
[A beat]
Mate, I've got no idea what you want right now. I hardly even recognize you.
action;
The part of him that is still at the pool party and listening to two people who know each other much better than he knows either of them arguing about something that isn't really his fault at all, but for which he feels acutely responsible, is very tempted to put his hands up and slowly back away while avoiding direct eye contact.
He has no idea what to say or do, but he's kind of standing here listening and so he feels like he has to say or do something.]
I'm sorry.
[Wow, apologizing was not what he expected himself to do. But here he goes, dipping his head politely like any decent Japanese person does when apologizing for something that he really is not at fault for. He's not even sure if he's apologizing to Sirius for sparking this fight that seems way more serious than he would have expected, or to James, for pretty much the same reason.]
I can go, if you'd like.
action;
This is a nightmare. James had a thousand different things he was going to say but they've all been vanished somewhere else with just that one sentence. For a second he just stands there, frozen in place.
He can't even protest. Countless things come to mind - Sirius doesn't know about all the times he has died, or about their future, or about Peter, or anything like that. He hasn't even told him much about what he and the previous Sirius-es got up to because so much of it was tied to darker things he didn't want to talk about. He'd tell him later. When the time was right.
But there was no right time.
He doesn't feel like he's changed. He doesn't want to have changed, but...maybe he has. Maybe Wonderland has finally worn him down, and maybe everyone who ever told him he was going to ruin himself trying to change things...maybe they were on to something.
He shakes his head and pinches at the bridge of his nose and finally hears Souji.]
No, you don't have to be sorry. You didn't do anything wrong.
[Only one of them had anything to be sorry for, and it wasn't Souji and it wasn't Sirius. Whether he should go or not, well...it's Sirius' party.
Finally he takes his hand away and looks at Sirius. He's still at a loss for words, but it feels so damning this time. This is clearly the part where he should be trying to reassure Sirius that no, there isn't anything else, but he's taken so long to get the words out. He's still shocked and hurt. There's a tightness in his chest.]
...Sirius. I...look, I'm sorry. I should've told you sooner, but I can't go back and change that now! It was a misunderstanding!
[But it's more than that, it's obviously more than that. He's not lying but he's not going to blurt out everything in a huge group of people. Still, it's written all over him. He and Sirius are close as brothers, two halves to the same coin, and now...now James is looking at him as though he's not sure he recognizes him either. That one sentence had been a perfect blow, straight between the ribs and into the heart and there's no way Sirius doesn't know that.
For the first time ever, James is worried he's broken something between them that he can't actually repair, and the thought scares him a little.]
action;
[He snaps, rolling his shoulders backwards with a breath, sharp grey eyes glaring daggers at James.]
Whatever else you're keeping from me? I don't want to hear it. I'm done.
[Of course he know exactly what to say to cut James right to the core. They know each other better than anyone which is what makes them so incredibly strong.. but on the very very rare occasions when they fight? It's catastrophic.
The logical part of him knows he shouldn't even be mad. He should take a breath and laugh it off and make a zombie joke in Souji's direction and that should be the end of it. He's not even sure exactly why he feels so wronged other than this was an important thing and he missed it...or perhaps it's all to do with James' near brush with death.
Or it could be the compression of all that on top of every other ridiculous stress. It's making him crazy!
And now, with the look in James' eye as he pleads for understanding, it's so clear there's more to come but he's not sure he wants to hear it. Angry, yes. Irrational? On occasion. Very bad at being cooped up? Yes!! But thick, Sirius isn't. Every single part of James is mid panic but he can see something brimming just under the surface. He's not telling him something.
And it's infuriating.
He's actually doing it. He's actually going to quit his own party and stalk out dripping wet and leave you here.
Sirius gives a nod to Souji - mate this isn't really your fault - and mumbles pleasure to meet you before turning away.
He has nothing to say to James and he won't be coming back to the room tonight.]
