[Dipper's sitting in his room, holding a red-wrapped piece of paper and looking very seriously at the camera.]

So, I just received a very interesting package–Mabel and I both did–I mean, we each received a different package, and… [He holds his up, then holds the note up to the camera.

It reads: In the search for something lost, do what you know you must. -RQ]

So clearly they're important, and I thought it'd be best if we open them nice and slowly and everyone can have a chance to see and weigh in, cause this is definitely a puzzle, and–

[–and Mabel shoves her way into frame violently, pushing Dipper aside and slamming a jar in front of the camera. The jar contains (1) blue eye that darts around in confusion at being jostled so savagely!! For a hot moment, Mabel does not care about that. She’s too busy looking a bit frantic.]

THIS IS AN EMERGENCY. This is the moment I’ve been training for since I first met Alice. [She balls a tiny hand into a fist.] I have one of her eyes, man. But that’s one more eye than I had before!

[She’s… definitely going at this with all the passion of a drill sergeant.] So my question is… Who’s got the other one? [SUSPICIOUS SQUINT. YOU BETTER NOT BE HIDING IT FROM HER. SHE WILL FIND YOU.

Dipper looks annoyed at the intrusion until he sees just what it is she has, at which point he looks shocked and amazed, one hand going to his head.]

Mabel, that's amazing! Oh my gosh, we have to find the other eyeball and figure out where the heck she hangs out when she's not announcing events… I'm going to get a clipboard!

[Whoops dashing offscreen now. There's a thump. Followed by an "I'm okay!" then another thump.

Mabel watches all of this with increasingly more pained flinches at Dipper tripping over everything, all while hugging the jar close to her chest.] Um… We’ll be right back, guys.

[She flicks the camera off.]

[It doesn't take long for the twins to track her lab down. They are tiny and determined and that makes them speedy.

Mabel knocks intensely as soon as they arrive, the jar tucked safely under one arm.] Alphys! Alphys, it's us! It's Mabel and Dipper! Can you hear us?

[krmvgivv]

[The eyeball swimming in the jar fills them with determination!]

She said just to knock, of course she can hear us. She probably has like, sciency videos and motion sensors and stuff too.

[When the door opens, it's not Alphys directly behind it; a large, 7 or so foot tall stone golem blocks the entire doorframe, looking down at the Pines twins judgmentally for a few seconds before heavily stepping to the side, revealing Alphys sitting sideways at her desk, her eye in question looking around as it sits atop it. When the golem moves, she looks up, smiling at them.]

H-Hey! Sorry, I just got over here- wanted to make sure he didn't, uh, stop you or anything.

[She waves them both in, so they can take a look at the eyes in question.]

[Mabel waves hi to the golem without a care in the world and bounds over to Alphys's desk, plopping her jar beside the other. The two eyes stare at each other and look to be excited to see one another.] Awww! Look, they're happy to see each other. Womp womp!

[Now excuse her while she tries to gently fish her eye out of the jar like it's a goldfish.]

Mabel, ew!

[USE A NET OR SOMETHING. DON'T JUST TOUCH ALICE'S EYE LIKE THAT.]

W-Wait, don't do that--!

[She sort of pushes Mabel's hand down, still looking nervous.]

I got, uh, a b-bigger jar for them. We can just pour them in. You don't have to, uh, touch them or anything.

[She sprints across the room quickly, grabbing another larger jar from the windowsill and bringing it over, unscrewing her own eyeball jar and gently pouring it, with the liquid, inside.]

[Mabel pulls her hand back with only mild reluctance. This is Mabel we're talking about. Of course she'd want to touch an eyeball.

Taking Alphys's lead, she follows suit with her own jar and her own eyes light up as the two eyes immediately begin to circle each other like excited fish.] Awww! Look at them! They're so happy. [She squeaks in delight.]

[krmvgivv]

I mean, they're eyeballs. I don't know if they have emotions.

[But they do... kind of look happy. Weird.]

We need to find Alice.

[sciencelizard]

[Alphys lets out a little coo as well as the eyes seem to know each other, smiling as they spin in tight corkscrews until Dipper speaks.]

How are we g-gonna do that, though? She's a resident. We can't just, uhm, call her, can we?
