[The stream turns on to show the back of a certain young Musketeer holding a biscuit in his hand, looking down, and speaking to someone or something unseen.]

Sit. Yes, good girl! [Let's hope it's not a woman he's speaking to.

He bends down, makes a few kissy noises and straightens up, moving out of the frame. As he disappears, a husky can be seen, sitting patiently. If you're familiar with Philip, you're probably familiar with his dog, Faraday. Except she's D'Artagnan's dog now, and he's trying his best to be good to her. Really. She tilts her head as D'Artagnan swears off screen, whines at him, and stands.

D'Artagnan appears again, offering her another treat. She takes it and he scratches behind her ears. He moves offscreen again, mumbles something the microphone doesn't pick up and Faraday whines at him again, jumps around for a moment and then bolts out the door.]

Hey, hey wait! [D'Artagnan runs to the door, holding a bright tennis ball, and then runs back into the room, grabbing his device.]

Hello, yes, if you see a dog, could you please let me know? She won't hurt you or anything, she's just friendly. Her name's Faraday, but only responds to that sometimes. Thank you.

[And the feed cuts off with a blur-- most likely D'Artagnan running out the door with it. How far has she gotten? D'Artagnan has no way of knowing.]

Ah, yes, are you familiar with her? Philip gave her to me. He said he'd no longer have time to care for her properly?

Yes, Evelyn supposes not, since Philip has gone underground in a manner of speaking (perhaps literally as well, because he doesn't seem to have taken up residence in any of the Mansion's standard rooms). What happened to the bar, then? Was it given away too? She can only assume as much.

Distantly, Evie remembers groggy mornings in a warm bed with Faraday insistently licking her face. When she speaks again, her voice just barely cracks before she swallows it down.]

[As he entered the house, Luke was prepared for many things. Confused victims. Gloating kidnappers. Maybe a bomb. The usual sort of stuff that happened when you woke up in a strange place with no memory of how you got there.

A dog running full tilt through the entrance hall was actually more unnerving than the alien he'd been expecting. It didn't look wild, but it was big, and Luke wasn't really on friendly terms with the four-legged members of the animal kingdom. He'd frozen as it ran past, turned a corner and vanished.

Minutes later, when he finally accessed the communicator device and saw a video from someone who seemed perfectly benign, he felt very foolish indeed.]

I think I saw your dog..? Think I lost him again, too.

[The man at the other end of the communicator seemed perfectly at home here. Not confused or scared like most of the other posts he'd seen over the communicator. He didn't sound like someone who'd just enacted a devious plan to kidnap a bunch of strangers, but he also didn't sound particularly bothered that some stranger had just wandered into his house. Whether he was a victim or an innocent bystander, he obviously wasn't surprised by what was happening.]

Sorry. I think I'm by the front door? Not really sure how this place works. I could see if I... You said Faraday, right? I could go after it.

[Who is.....who is that? D'Artagnan's never seen her before, that much he knows, because he would remember someone so smokin' hot beautiful. No really, it takes a moment for him to answer.]

[He thought maybe she'd gone back to Philip's room, but no luck.]
