[Shock and awe, Wonderland. Tom has been here for how long and this is his first time on the network unaffected by an event. But anyone who knows him knows he hates the friggin' thing. Or, more to the point, just really doesn't like drawing too much attention to himself.
But hey. He's happy for once in a very long time. He's in love! And instead of jumping around on someone's couch or screaming from the roof tops, he's sitting outside the back of the house with a power saw, a generator, and a stack of timbers that he has lugged from the closest closet.
A lot of you he hasn't met but you might remember him proposing a football game a months or so back, but he wasn't feeling quite himself then. Living alternative lives and all that.]
Was thinking about doing some work out here. Idle hands and all that.
[It's a beautiful autumn day, guys. Come out and do something constructive.]
Could use some help to get the walls up. Not like we've got much else to do.

action;
Lucky for you, I've learned my way around a hammer.
[For hitting Sylar purposes, not building ones. But hey, how different can they really be? She finds a stray one laying in the grass and crouches down to pick it up, giving it a spin like she used to with a baton in cheer practice.]
action;
[Uh. Awesome. He smiles and stands. Let's fuckin build a workshop, then. Tom holds out a hand for a rather formal shake.]
Glad to have you on board Miss Bennet.
Someone said he thought the best place to build was next to the greenhouse. What to do you figure?
action;
Why next to the greenhouse? Wouldn't that be weird, having two buildings sitting right on top of each other? We should spread things out a little.
[She looks over at what he's built already, then glances back up at him.]
What're we making, anyway?
action;
[This is very serious business, Claire.]
He said the ground seemed level there and we could pipe electrics from the existing outbuilding to the new one instead of trying to wire something from the house.
action;
Makes sense. Except if this place defies physics and natural laws on a regular basis, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be that hard to wire something out of nothing.
[But still...she looks over at the greenhouse.]
I didn't even know this place had a greenhouse. Does anyone even use it?
action;
[A small pause and Tom shrugs. He and Claire are close. He'll fess up.]
I don't really know anything about stuff.
[He just wants to hit stuff with a hammer and feel fulfilled.]
action;
[She likes hitting things, so hitting stuff with a hammer sounds great. And maybe using a saw, that also sounds awesome. Basically, she really needs to get out anger with these tools. Which she starts doing by hammering nails into something that...looks like it goes together.]
If it works out, you should offer to build people houses out here. Just small ones, but maybe you could get some decent people owing you favors. It's always good to have that.
