[ figuring out how to use the device isn't the hard part, no, it's swallowing the fact that either purgatory changed on him in what could only be described as seriously trippy as shit way, or he's in yet another new dimension. so have dean, wonderland, covered in dirt and grime from head to toe. it doesn't take squinting to notice the obvious splashes of blood either, though all of it's dried as if he hasn't changed his clothes in a while...

in his hand is a massive weapon; axe-like in shape, with a blade made of something unrecognizable but decidedly dangerous. ]

Alright, listen up. This is how it's gonna go; whoever thought this-- [ he gestures vaguely around with the tip of his weapon. ] -- was a great idea? Hand up now. You and I are gonna have a couple words, and how pretty they end up bein' depends entirely on you. [ a threat is laced in every single word. ]

Or I can always just start demandin' answers-- [ you know the violent way. purgatory kinda rubs off on you after a while. ] -- 'cause you know what? I don't have time for this. Not today. [ not when one minute benny had been going on about something or another and now the vampire isn't anywhere to be seen and his search for cas is interrupted.

which leads him to adding, after a pause; ]

Cas, if you're here for some messed up reason, lem'me know. Same for you, Benny.

[ end feed. ]

::Ed was going to respond about Gabriel, but then Dean kept going. He shrugs.::

I'm not the one that named the place. Characters from the book do show up from time to time though. And no, nothing like that. It's... basically a place that pulls in people from different worlds and points in time.

How long people stay here varies. There's at least a couple of people here that've been here for over two years, I've been here for several months, and I've met people that have disappeared inside of a week. There's no pattern to look for that we've found. And then there's the people that come back after disappearing. Some come back soon enough that they remember being here before. Others, like you, are gone long enough that they don't remember having been here.

You try to walk out through the woods, you pass out and wake up here. Try to swim out? Same thing happens. I'm betting the same goes for the flighted types if they try to fly out.

People have been trying to figure out how to leave on our own terms and keeping our memories, but... ::He shrugs.:: No luck, so far.

While you're doing that, you've also got a bar to run. One of the people working there has been holding the fort in your absence.

I think you might go a bit stir-crazy if you never left. Sometimes you were in there when I am, sometimes you weren't.

Anyway, you were here longer than I've been, so you had time to get used to the crazy this place brings.

Yep. Feel like having me toss more info at you, or do you think your brain's had enough to cope with for now and someone else can fill you in on the specifics when you're done 'what the fuck'ing about what you've been told so far?

I haven't gotten to the fun stuff yet.

::Ed gives Dean an entirely too cheerful smile.::

Such as the mirrors. There's a flipped version of the place on the other side with flipped versions of ourselves over there. My Mirror's an asshole. So's my little brother's. I'll leave it up to you to figure out what yours would be like.

Probably because they are. They're called Mirrors because they're mirrored versions of us. While we can't see through the mirrors to their side, they can see through them to ours. So unless you want yours watching you as you sleep or something, I recommend covering the mirror in whatever room you crash in with a blanket.

Also, we can communicate back and forth with them. They can hear what we say, but they have to write on their side to answer.

::There's an unspoken 'watch what you say near the mirrors' in there.::

Besides the part where the mirrors fix themselves after an hour or so and it's not worth it to be constantly breaking them?

The people tend to stay on their side of things unless the Queen of Hearts gives them permission to come over here. And since we can't be on the same side as our Mirrors, we get tossed over to their side until they go home to theirs.

::Now Ed scratches at his neck absently.::

They're not all bad--I've met a decent one or two--but most of them, you need to keep an eye on.

::Ed thinks about that for a moment.::

You mean that if the Mirror version is nice, the original isn't? There's probably a few cases of that.

No problem. There's plenty more, but I think you've probably heard about all you can cope with for now. I'll let someone else info-dump the rest on you later.
