[ when the feed opens, it's on the floor at first, but after a second it turns to face a pretty girl with long brown hair and a bit of a smile on her face, sitting on the bed in her room. elena looks happy, which is, unbeknownst to the citizens of wonderland, kind of an unusual thing for her. ]

So, Wonderland. [ her tone conveys what she thinks of that, thanks, but she continues on after a moment with her smile growing wider. ] My name is Elena Gilbert, I'm new, and I have a question for you all, if you don't mind.

[ she rests her chin on her hand and raises an eyebrow. ] Is Wonderland better than wherever you came from? Like... personally, I miss my friends, obviously, but I don't want to go back home, because someone very important to me is here, and they're... gone, back home. [ now she looks a little shifty -- she doesn't want damon to know either how important he is to her or that he's dead when she comes from. ] Does anyone else here have something like that? A loved one back from the dead, or maybe you're back from the dead? You're missing out on the apocalypse?

Just curious!

[ and now the feed cuts out, and elena flops back on her bed, grinning at the ceiling. ]

Someone's rather cheerful.

[ He hasn't decided how annoying it is yet. It's certainly a change of tone when compared to the typical post from a new arrival.

It's also a change from her usual disposition. Which probably had more to do with him than it being her general mood. ]

So far, general opinion is not in favor of this being better.

[heightens]

[ and there goes her good mood. elena's smile falls and she glares at the tablet in her hands. ]

[ no matter that elijah had warned her that his brother was here, she hadn't really thought she'd get any attention from klaus -- last she knew he was in new orleans, and had no interest in her or her blood anymore. the fact that he's talking to her, now... it makes her more nervous than she'd like to admit.

of course, elena's gotten good at hiding that by now. ]

When did you get here?

[ It's amazing what Klaus' presence does to many good moods. ]

Oh, a couple of weeks ago. People don't usually arrive in such good spirits. Trouble at home?

[ Someone is completely unaware of what happened in Mystic Falls, other than what he managed to get out of Bonnie when he called her once he started having nightmares about his father - the Other Side must be completely gone at this point. It makes no difference to him. ]

[heightens]

You could say that.

[ and that's all he's getting out of her on the subject. her "trouble at home" includes another round of "kidnap and torture the baby vampire" and more death that she can't deal with, but she's managed to get a bit of solace from it in the form of wonderland, and she's glad to take it.

granted, she wishes it didn't also come with a klaus, but beggars can't be choosers, and all that. ]

Was there something you wanted from me? Because I'd just as soon we pretended each other didn't exist, if it's all the same to you. I have more important things to worry about than you.

[ a lot of bravado coming from the girl klaus could easily compel or kill, but elena's gotten fed up with all these people trying to ruin her life, and she's not going to just roll over and accept it anymore. anyone who wants to take anything more from her is going to have a goddamn fight on their hands. ]

Nothing in particular comes to mind.

[ Boredom, pure and simple, is what drove him to contact her. Usually, boredom meant he would seek out someone to torment a little, but this will do. Troubles with his family aside, Elena is nothing more than just another vampire to him. ]

Seems like you don't have a worry in the world here, love. What with the cheerful mood and all.

[heightens]

[ elena's going to ignore both statements for now, because she doesn't want to give klaus anything he could possibly use against her. there's only so much her good mood from finding damon again could help, and the reappearance of klaus in her life is rapidly outshining that joy. they're not on his radar so far, but klaus is a capricious, impulsive man. that could change without so much as a word from her.

to any reasonable person, that would translate to keeping their head down and just plain avoiding klaus wherever he's to be found. elena's done that, however, and she's tired of it. ]

If you don't have anything you want from me why talk to me at all? I'm sure you have better things to do with your time.
