[ She fishes a small notepad, flicks it open, and hands it to Sharon. ]

The short version: it's useless.

[ She shrugs smugly at Natasha - and yes, she knows how fortunate she is to have someone around who can put up with her dorky sense of humor - and reads over the list.

It isn't as disappointing as she had thought it would be. She would have been surprised if Natasha had found something. It's no slight to Natasha; it's simply the nature of the place. ]

Maybe we should rename Wonderland as Square One.

[ She hands back the list. ] Evelyn O'Connell knows the most of anyone about this place, I think. There's also that Dipper kid, but between you and me he's kind of an asshole. [ Why no, Sharon doesn't have much experience with teenagers. Do teenagers act like Dipper? Maybe because Dipper is a teenager? Huh. Nope! It's just that he's an asshole. ] He keeps talking about his notes, though they're apparently written in code, and the likes of us could never understand.

Evelyn's much better to talk to anyway you slice it.

I never thought I'd be any good with children, [ she says, thoughtfully, then, ] I've spoken with Evelyn. Her research is the most thorough of anything here.

[ Not to mention how long Evelyn herself has been here with no respite, but that's sympathy for a different conversation. ]

I never thought I'd be good with kids, either, and I was right.

I should probably get in touch with Evelyn again. I haven't spoken to her in a while.

[ Her eyes fall to Natasha's notepad, then dance as they rise back to meet Natasha's eyes. ] Well. You've been utterly useless to me today. Any chance I can be of any use to you?

[ It's funny in the darkly humorous way spies are funny. Natasha hehs. ]

You can make me some of that famous noodle soup of yours. Chop chop.

[ Sharon mock-gasps. ]

Did you just make a cooking pun? About soup?

[ She gasps again and clutches imaginary pearls, then pauses. ] Actually, I don't know if I'm offended or impressed.

[ Natasha does not make a half-arsed attempt to be stoic and terrifying. She just snickers. ]

[ Sharon stares at her for a second, unsure how to take that, either. ]

[ She stops. Nope, starts up again. Still funny. ]
