01 🔥 video
I'm getting real tired of getting dumped in strange places against my will. I don't like it.
[There's a low, dangerous growl of disapproval and the expression on Mick's face is not a pretty one. It's somewhat reminiscent of an angry bull. This was the second time in God knows how many days that Mick Rory has found himself stranded somewhere new and different, unsure what the hell is happening. It's not a good feeling. It didn't inspire much good will.
Though this is a definite improvement over the last place. For one, there's food. For another, he gets a free smart phone to yell at people over and voice his anger. Not bad. Though he did kind of think they went a little overboard with the white. What was with all the decorations anyway? This better not be like some low rent Christmas Town cause honestly, that sounded a lot like hell.]
You got five minutes to convince me not to torch this place to the ground cause I ain't in the mood to play nice right now. Somebody start talking. [The words come out as an angry snarl, teeth barred. He's not a happy bunny.]

[Mick reaches out and grabs the lighter, picking it up and pulling it in closer.]
I was just a problem he had to shove aside while he played hero. He realised he wanted something else, something that wasn't me and suddenly that's what I was. A problem. [He looks down at the flame and tries his best not to let the emotions overwhelm him again or he'd end up provoking another fight before this night is over.] People think I'm mad because he tried to kill me but I'm not mad over that cause he never had the stones to try.
He left me. And it doesn't matter if he came back in an hour, a week or never, the point is that he left. He picked them over me. And we never did that to each other. He was -- [Everything to Mick? His best friend, his partner, the reason he had anything to do in his life. He took care of Leonard and Leonard took care of him. They saved each other from so much shit. It had been that way since they were kids in juvie and he guessed a naive part of him never considered he'd get left like this. That he'd stop mattering] -- he was never supposed to see me like that.
[He huffs and gives the side a sideways look.] What I wanted was my friend. What I got was to know that he sees me like everyone else sees me. As a problem.

[She reaches across the table and sets her hand against his wrist.]
He probably just doesn't understand what's happening.
[Because otherwise, Lenny's done some terrible things that make Maya worry that Riley might do some terrible things, and it's all so confusing she's not sure what to make of all of this.]

[Shit. She's touching him. Mick turns his head and looks at her for a while, unsure what to do with this. With her. In the end, he makes a decision. He moves his hand away but he gets to his feet, slipping his lighter into his pocket.]
We're done here. [This conversation could lean nowhere good.] Where'd you live? I'm walking you back.

[She won't argue with him about needing to end this conversation somehow. It's already done entirely too much damage.]

[He wasn't leaving her to wonder around like that when she was dressed... well, like something a frat boy would want to get all up in. And he wasn't going to be able to rest easy without taking the child back.] I'm not letting you hang in a bar any longer. You don't need to be around these drunken assholes.

[Her eyes snap back up. Since when are you her Dad, Mr. Burnsalot?]

[He's say the same thing to any other girl he knew that turned up to a bar like this in a strange place with no known combat skills. And some guys actually... three spring to mind already. Moreso than the girls. Girls tend to take care of themselves better, in all honesty, but unfortunately this one was young, not a reincarnated bird girl, a deadly assassin or Lisa Snart. Therefore, not gonna be left alone.] Don't think you're special or you're being victimised for being a kid. Unless you can kill a man with your bare hands, I'm walking you back. Got it?
[He makes a vague growling noise as he grabs his lighter and pockets it.] Besides, you can't even drink. Who wants to be in a bar if they're sober? Only dumb people.

[She sucks at her teeth, sliding from her chair until she stands as steadily as she can manage in shoes this high.]
People come back. I mean, Lenny's teaching me fight stuff, but there's a limit to how much it can do.

[And Mick genuinely believes that. He slips his hands into his pockets and gestures with his head towards the door, waiting for the kid to follow him. He was going to make sure she was safe, that was top priority.]
You got yourself a weapon yet? All kids need weapons in a place like this. It's unpredictable.

Not yet. But I'm trying to get Lenny's nerd to make an ice gun for me? Lenny won't let me figure out how to work his.
