Hey people! [Dipper grins, bouncing on his heels. If he hasn't slept much since the event, it's hard to tell, but considering how much sleep he got that weekend, it's really all averaged out to his usual semi-exhausted state.]

It's been a while and we've got a lot of new people so I thought it was time to remind people about the weekly game I'm running.

[He holds up an epic looking box.]

Dungeons, Dungeons, and More Dungeons! Which is pretty similar to something called Dungeons and Dragons or Warlocks and Warriors or probably some other magic stuff and other magic stuff that's found in any number of different worlds. It's tabletop roleplay, and it's awesome. If you're interested in escaping this weird fantasy world for a different, better weird fantasy world where you can fight evil and do magic and be awesome, let me know. Or just show up. I can help you make a character and show you the rule book.

[A beat.]

It… doesn't require as much math as you think it does. But you still might want to bring a calculator.

I remember up to a point. But there's a gap in my memory, even though people have told me I was still here.

A new one, I think. And I'll try to complain less this time. Can't promise it'll work, but...

[Look, getting used to the fact that what works in real life and what works in tabletop are two different things is hard.]

[They may not have gotten off on the right foot, but Ishimaru is still curious. Nanami had encouraged him to try out games since they could be mentally stimulating, and some of what Dipper says does sound promising...

He stares into the feed awkwardly for a moment before he speaks.]

Excuse me! I apologize for this intrusion, but... I am very curious about this game! You say that... it involves a rule book, as well as math?

I'm thinkin' a monk, or perhaps even a bard--I certainly got the know-how needed for one, I'd think.

[And that's when McGucket picks up a banjo from somewhere that had been sitting previously off-screen and strums out a tune that one might find themselves quoting the DD&MD oath along to: With pen and paper, shield and sword, our quest shall be our sweet reward...]

Perfect! What room?

Yeah! [He holds up a book of rules.] You also need graph paper.

[That is so cool. Dipper's never played with a robot before.]

Cool! Ever played before?

[He doesn't want to assume.]

Sure, that'll probably make things go a little faster. [He holds up the rule book.] They probably have more copies in the library.

Yeah, it just wasn't the same without our bard.

[Ah, the banjo. Nice to know he retained something from his sanity days and didn't just start playing it when he lost his mind.]

Bards are hard to play effectively, but I feel like you can probably handle it.

Graph paper? [He grips the nearest table in anticipation!] This is sounding more exciting by the moment! After all, I appreciate any opportunity to put my studies to the test!

[Aww, she's grown as a person.]

Once you get used to the rules, believe me, there's all sorts of cool things you can do.

....that's impossible. Wonderland doesn't work like that.

[But if there's one thing Dipper knows, it's that Wonderland resists attempts to make it make any sense at all.]

Well....maybe, but I don't know how else to explain it. I was here, then I was gone and I don't remember anything. Then I came back months later, and everyone told me I'd been there the whole time. So...I don't know what else to tell you.

The only thing I can think of is that the me who was here then was the me from the future. I left, Wonderland jumped forward in my life to bring me back, then I left and it jumped backward again to bring me back again.

[He shrugs and shakes his head.]

I don't know if that even makes sense.

we can just say tahoma was taking a real long nap. it's pretty in keeping with both his character and mine.

by the way, uh, sorry, but you're probably gonna need to remind me about some of the rules.

(They'll probably pick up the rules pretty fast, though, once they're explained.)

[Indeed: ask Ford sometime about how he had to ban Fidds from playing the banjo after 8 because of how excessive his playing was when they used to work together.]

Of course. 'Sides, a challenge like that can make playin' the game more interestin', right?

[This guy gets him.] You haven't played before? Cause I can definitely help you make a character and everything.

But the future you remembered Wonderland too. It would be just like the usual trips home except that now you don't remember any of it.

[Wonderland makes so little sense. Sometimes Dipper wonders why he even tries to get it to make any sense.]

Only if you're ready for it. Believe me, I've played with some terrible bards.

Oh yeah? Got any good stories to share with that statement?

It's cool, I still have to look things up half the time and I've been playing all my life.

That's fine, a lot of people here haven't. I'm sure we'll get you up to speed fast enough.
