Hey people! [Dipper grins, bouncing on his heels. If he hasn't slept much since the event, it's hard to tell, but considering how much sleep he got that weekend, it's really all averaged out to his usual semi-exhausted state.]

It's been a while and we've got a lot of new people so I thought it was time to remind people about the weekly game I'm running.

[He holds up an epic looking box.]

Dungeons, Dungeons, and More Dungeons! Which is pretty similar to something called Dungeons and Dragons or Warlocks and Warriors or probably some other magic stuff and other magic stuff that's found in any number of different worlds. It's tabletop roleplay, and it's awesome. If you're interested in escaping this weird fantasy world for a different, better weird fantasy world where you can fight evil and do magic and be awesome, let me know. Or just show up. I can help you make a character and show you the rule book.

[A beat.]

It… doesn't require as much math as you think it does. But you still might want to bring a calculator.

What's their job? Beating up heroes? Or... getting beaten up by heroes, more likely.

[Dipper shrugs.] Sure, if it works for you. I'm not gonna tell you the best way to relate to your own dice. That's between you and them.

[She doesn't entirely sound sure because now that she thinks about it, what was the point of even having guards, because...]

Not really any heroes in Oz. There was a thief, once, but heroes, no, not really.

So... why do you need henchpeople at all?

[He was expecting to hear something unpleasant, but not something like that. He just sits and kind of stares for a minute before realizing that he is and glancing away.]

Even "nerdy" is better than "girly" where I'm from. [He grimaces.] But I guess we got that in common-- people thinkin' our hobbies are weird.

Good point. [ What with the lack of time passing and all. ] I'll get right on that, then. See if I can beat you one day.

Oh, it's not a winning game. I mean, it can be, if, say, an evil wizard wants to eat you and your uncle's brains and refuses to give it up for anything besides your other uncle and your sister playing him in a competitive game that uses you as the pieces.

[..............not that this specific situation has ever happened, why would you think that.]

Anyway, it's more about storytelling. I'd put things in your way to make it hard for you, but I don't actually want you to lose. I'd be a pretty sucky GM if I did.

Sounds like you're from a place filled with jerks.

[Dipper has his own insecurities about coming off as girly. Still, between his time with the Manotaurs and the fact that it's a lot easier to get mad at someone else's behalf than it is to be okay with your own love of, say, girly pop songs that are Top 40 hits for a reason, dang it, he's certainly coming around on team be interested in whatever you're interested in, "girly" or not.]

Who cares if it's girly? It's plenty manly to stay true to yourself even though people are mean about it.

I wish I could say it was the weirdest dice-related conversation I've had, but we haven't even brought up dice witches yet, so doesn't quite get there.

[Well, he might have just lost a lot of people their jobs. But also maybe saved their lives? Or the lives of any heroes who do show up? So it probably works out. Well, it would if it mattered.]

I like cute artsy stuff. I mean, y'probably already knew that. [He and Mabel have had some pretty solid conversations about the many uses of glitter.] Some people think that's weird, but I stopped carin'. If it makes you happy, that's what matters.

You wanted to find the guy who did it. And you... really weren't hanging out with humans anymore, which seems not super healthy for you but hey, trauma. I'm not judging.

[It's not that he minds playing with someone who is self-described as wicked, but. It would be nice if she wasn't killing people or turning them into monkeys or stealing shoes or whatever.]

You probably don't. [Dipper shrugs, flashing a grin.] See you at the game.

Art stuff is girly? [Glitter, sure, and maybe cuteness in general, but Dipper has honestly never thought about it like that.]

But, yeah, good! Who cares what they think, right? Lots of people think I'm weird. And Mabel is definitely weird. But who wants to be normal? That's boring.

[Which Dipper will continue to believe right up until he gets teased next.]

...oh boy. [This might take more explaining than he predicted.] How... familiar with high fantasy are you? Like, have you seen [What's it called in worlds other than his again? Ah yes.] Lord of the Rings? Or read it?

Well, the stuff I like is-- or people say it is. I don't really give a damn. Sewing, crochet-- I just like making things.

[He cracks a lopsided smile as Dipper goes on, agreeing with that.]

Yeah, I'm with you there. Normal's pretty damn lame if you ask me.

Lord of the Rings ... is a book?
