What do you do when someone breaks your trust in them? Is there a way to regain it? Should it be regained? How do you learn to trust anyone again?

Completely, but Damian was the grudge-holding type. Would he ever trust Jon again? Probably, which is saying something because he was never the trusting type, to begin with.]

That is a pretty big breach of trust.

They said they were curious. They wanted to know what I was hiding, what I was so ashamed of.

I would have told them at the right time, when I felt comfortable with it. That should have been my choice to make.

You're absolutely right.
It should've been.
Did they at least seem apologetic?

They did apologize. They said they were sorry. They said I was like family.

But how can you treat family like that?

They shouldn't but family will do things you don't desire if they believe it's best for you.
What this person did, didn't benefit or help you.
They did it to satisfy their own selfish curiosity.
To call say you are like family after the fact sounds like attempted manipulation.
Cutting ties sounds best.

If you know this person as well as you claim, then you know the answer to that.

Right now the only thing I believe is that it could happen all over again with anyone.

It will.
People betray each other all the time.
You just have to learn to better protect yourself from it.
Not start crying, because tears solve nothing.

I was about 10 when I figured it but, it did take me longer than it should've.
