[When the feed clicked on, Fitz was still in the midst of a panic attack, the young scientist barely able to focus on the device as he fiddled with the settings some, hands trembling.]

Director Coulson? Agent May? Anyone? Please tell me I'm not the only one here.

[Because that's the last thing he needed right now. He didn't want to believe his was happening right now. It just wasn't plausible.

Trying to pull himself together, Fitz set the device down for a moment, scrubbing at his face and letting out a breath. It took a moment for him to get himself together, his hands still trembling but it wasn't near as bad.

Breath in. Breath out.

He could do this.

A little more composed, he picked his device up once more, trying to put on a neutral expression.]

This is Agent Leo Fitz of SHIELD. Can anyone hear me? I'm not sure where I am but if someone...if someone could please contact me....please?

[Panic. Panic is not good. Luckily Sam has dealt with panicked people before. Don't get much more panicky than the undead horde descending right? When he speaks again, it's firmer, but no less kind.]

Okay. You need to stop and just listen to me, alright?

Nothing will happen at home while you are here. We know this. When you get sent back, you don't remember Wonderland and nothing at home has changed. It'll be like you were never away.

[That firm voice was a good choice and it causes Fitz to close his eyes for a moment, hand going to his forehead as he tries to concentrate.

So whatever the cause for him being here was would effect the flow of time in that nothing would continue. Odd but it was somewhat comforting, even if he was still freaked out as to why he was in...Wonderland in the first place.]

...How can...How can I be sure of that though?

[That's better. Sam keeps it up, the sort of tone he uses when running high risk missions. With less panic over approaching zoms.]

I dunno. Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey stuff?

Look, if you're from SHIELD, there are people here from your world. [Some version of his world?] I'm sure they'll be able to confirm what they know.

[His eyes open, staring at Sam with a tiny hint of relief.]

There are? Can you--I was told Coulson was here but who else? If you can tell me.

[Sam smiles back.]

Yeah. I spoke to Coulson. Um... I think I had a conversation with Captain America the other day.

['cause that doesn't sound crazy at all.]

And The Hulk was around, at least on the other side of the mirrors. And Natasha Romanoff.

[He sounds crazy.]

...The Avengers are here?

[Holy crap this was unexpected. Fitz took a deep breath, running a hand through his hair and resting it against the back of his neck, free hand on his hip.]

That's...that's a good thing then. Yeah. Definitely a good thing.

[Apparently not as crazy as Sam had anticipated.]

Yeah, it is. Even if Natasha did leaves bruises during our last training session.

Look, do you have any idea where you are? Any landmarks? I can come meet you, or at least guide you somewhere. The kitchen is pretty nice.

Not surprising.

[It's murmured, a little bit of his snark slipping out there before he's looking around, getting a good look at the room he's in.]

There's..a piano. Grand piano. I would hazard to guess this is a music room?

[Sam sniggers softly.]

It's what I deserve for taking classes from her.

Mmmm, okay, yeah. I can work with that. I can get you to the kitchen and I'll meet you there okay? This is sort of what I do at home, guiding people to places.

Alright...alright if you're sure that's going...

[He stopped, knowing that he needed to quit doubting Sam even if he was still wary about this place and him and just..just everything.]

Where do I go?

I'm sure. And if you turn... left.

[He's already grabbing his rucksack (just in case, always just in case), and heading out himself.]

I'm Sam, by the way. Sam Yao.

[So left it is as he hesitantly starts on his way.]

...It's nice to meet you, even if it is all rather..not right.

It does take some getting used to, yeah. But it's not all bad. I mean I don't think so. Me and Simon might be unusual cases there though. People are pretty helpful though.

That's a positive I suppose.

Well yeah. Would suck to be stuck in a place where you hate everyone. Wouldn't mind a few more people from my world though.

Are you the only one or is that...is..Simon? Is he from yours as well?

Yeah, Simon is from the same world. Same township. We sort of... We work together at home.

Are you teammates?

[That's a way better way of putting it!]

Yeah! Yeah we are. I do comms. He's like a- a field operative.

[Fitz nods a bit.]

That's similar to how our team at home functions. Everyone does their part.

[Except him these days. At least, that's what it feels like.]

Yeah, everyone at home does something. Keep the town running. [help defeat insane semi immortal mad scientists]

But we're friends too.

What do you do? For your team? Or like for fun too. Fun is good.

I...I build things.

[When he can. It hasn't been easy lately but Mack has been helpful.]

Anything they need I try to I try to put together.

[A pause and then his voice is quieter.]

It use to be fun but it's been rather frustrating lately.

That's cool! Building things. Janine, she's like the person in charge, she's a really good electrical engineer. Does all the electronics around the base.

[He'd like to say Fitz would get on with her but Janine is just a bit on the abrasive side]

I guess it can be sometimes. You just have to keep going. I mean if it's what you want to do. If it isn't then find something else.

It's just been a bit hard to do anything these days. It's...It's getting easier though.

[Because it is, Fitz knows it is. Sometimes it's just hard to focus on the good when he's so frustrated with himself; hating himself for how worthless he's become.

At least, in his mind he's become worthless. Hard to say what the others really think.]

Sometimes it is. I mean after- something happened to one of my team and I- Maxine, our doctor, confined me to the hospital for a couple of weeks. It was pretty bad. But I got back. I'm sure you will too.
