[ When the video feed comes to life, Isaac is lounging on a rather plush chair looking far more smug than he ever has in his life. He's got a cup of tea balancing on one of the arm rests and next to it a plate of biscuits - quite the sweet tooth at the moment apparently. Two things stick out like a sore thumb - the amount of stubble on the usually babyfaced teenager and the white gauze pad above his eyebrow. Of course when "Isaac" opens his mouth it becomes apparent quickly that either A) Isaac has developed a European accent or B) this isn't Isaac. ]
I'll say, one moment I was smack dab in The French Quarter and then I found myself here and I haven't a bloody clue how it happened.
[ He purses his lips a bit indignantly before speaking again. ]
And while I have to assume the company here is far superior to the company I was forced to keep there - I'm not a big fan of this unbreakable boundary spell. I'd like to meet the witch that cast it.

Mmm, it happens every day. Not a big deal. My coven was full of loons and most of them were daft loons. They tried to control everything I did, even made it so I couldn't practice magic for a long time. It's not rocket science to decide you want out.
[ Cami, he's not going to share anything all that interesting. ]

Given what I’ve learned about witches, and what you just said, deciding you want out and actually making it happen are two entirely different animals.
[Whatever he means to share or doesn’t, Cami’s had a lot of experience to force her over her naivety. She presses her lips together, trying to decide the best way to approach what she wants to ask next. He’s got all the arrogance typical of a kid his age, but she suspects its worse than that—after all, just how much reason does she have to believe everything he says?]
So how did you end up meeting Davina?

[ Questions with questions... But Kol will relent a bit, he has nothing against Cami. ]
I met her at a record shop, thought she was gorgeous the moment I laid eyes on her - awful taste in music though. Plan to help her with that, if she'll accept the help.
[ Kol knows his way around these types, give them far more details than they need - useless details. ]
To be honest, it was rubbish music she was buying - but she's sweet. So I asked her on a date... Well, the first one I missed because witchy stuff came up. But the next one I made.
[ Really, listen to this Cami - me me me me me. Let him talk about himself and bore you to death with boring details. ]
Horrid date though; we ended up getting jumped by your friend's werewolf mates. I guess he doesn't take kindly to me much anymore.

Maybe that's exactly what you're doing. After all, I'm not her mother, but I am Davina's friend.
[And Davina is particularly vulnerable right now, between what's happened in Wonderland and what she remembers from back home. Not to mention that there's far too much coincidence here, she thinks. Even through all the superfluous details, Cami notices the lack of the one she's looking for: some indication of when it happened. Of course, technically she hadn't asked for that in the hopes of not being too obvious, but still.]
Witchy stuff? [Of course there are things she won't just let by. Witchy stuff in the Quarter has rarely amounted to anything good for the people Cami cares about.]
I wouldn't say he's my friend. After all, you seem to know him a lot better than I do. [And she also wouldn't necessarily say that the kid had been the one attacked. Still, why go after her then, when she'd been with this kid, if they are working together?]
Yeah. I've heard witches aren't big fans of people who leave their covens.
no subject
Yes, witchy stuff. [ He pauses - clearly embarrassed by his next words. ] If you must know me mum wanted me to go out and get her some herbs... Can you not tell Davina... It's sort of - I don't want her to think I'm some loser that still lives with his mother and buys her groceries and does everything she says so she doesn't kick me out of the basement.
[ Meh, so it wasn't the truth; it's not like Cami is his friend or someone he particularly cares about. ]
I wish I didn't know 'em. [ Totally and completely the truth for once, god he could do without Finn in his life. ]
Yeah, well, you can understand I don't like when they try to do my head in with a sodding bar table.

[Might as well get it out in the open at this point. The simple fact is that none of them knows this kid, save for Cami herself--and that knowledge is incredibly limited. While Davina clearly trusts him in the future, it wouldn't exactly be the first time someone had tried to manipulate her for their own personal gain.]
Really? You're what, all of eighteen at most? [It's not that unusual for kids his age--and yes, Cami still views him as a kid, never mind that there's only a few years difference in their ages.] Somehow I doubt she'll take it that far.
[But it doesn't mix: a kid who is a self-proclaimed rebel, one who claims to have left his coven, but then turns around and stands up Davina to obey his mother? Cami already knows she won't get answers if she presses, but it's enough to keep her wary.
Kind of like what he follows up with.]
Wait, wait. They tried to kill you? Was that before or after you left?
no subject
[ Is that a jab at Cami? Yes, yes it is. ] I mean you must've known what was happening and yet you let them terrorize her whilst she hid from the Harvest Ritual. Unless you weren't friends with her at the time. Were you?
[ Cami your rude is showing. When she guesses his age he just nods, with a soft mhm. ] Oh, really? You don't think.
[ Hmmm. ]
The night I was with Davina. One of the blood bastards got me. [ Oh, and listen how mad he actually is, how dare they attack him. They were supposed to be on the same side - it was an order of his brother's no doubt. ]
no subject
[That's officially not the way to get Cami on his side, for the record. Clearly this kid doesn't know the situation in full--how many people honestly do? But the blatant accusation is a few dozen steps further than Cami's gone so far, and it leaves her with absolutely zero desire to get into the whole mess of her history back home with him.]
Well, for the record, I didn't actually know what was going on. That's what happens when vampires compel you to forget the truth about the crazy supernatural world you're being dragged into. [She gives him a moment to grasp that before she continues on.] And when I was decompelled, finally, the first thing I did was to try and help Davina get out of town. So maybe before you make baseless accusations about which of us should be suspect, you might want to get your facts straight.
[Because Cami has proven herself, time and again, to be Davina's friend and protector in whatever way she can manage. This kid, on the other hand? Isn't doing anything to convince Cami he's worth trusting.
It doesn't stop her from continuing to pump him for information, however. For better or worse he's the only source she's got.] So Vincent's in the coven leading the wolves. Well that's just fantastic.
no subject
Okay. [ Wow, really? Was it that easy? ] You're her friend, so am I. I'm not going to hurt her. You've got no reason to believe me or even like me, but it's the truth. And if I were out to get either of you I wouldn't have warned you about Vincent, would I have?
[ Cami doesn't have to trust him, he's not really all that trustworthy, he's a trickster and a troublemaker - but he has no intention of hurting either of the ladies from New Orleans. ]
Vincent - he's dangerous, you can't let him know I warned you - he'd... [ Kol has an unnerving feeling he knows exactly what his brother would do to him. ] If he's focused on you, it means there's a treacherous reason - you're not a witch, you're not a wolf, or even a vampire. A pressure point, possibly. [ For better or for worse. And while he'll give her most of the truth, he's not going to give her the entirety of it. ] Or he fancies you - which is just as awful, I'd say. [ Ew. ]
no subject
A pressure point. [That's easy enough to see; it's not the first time she's been warned that she could prove to be someone's weakness. Elijah had said as much, and Klaus so many months ago.] Well, whatever it is, we won't find out unless he shows up here.
I should leave you to settle in. [She puts on a small smile as she starts to end the conversation.] This place takes some getting used to to say the least, but I'm sure I'll see you around.
no subject
For both our sakes I hope he doesn't show up here.
[ God, he's got free reign here, if Finn showed up that would be crappy as hell. ]
Thank you. [ He's not sure there's really much to thank her for, but he does regardless. ] It was lovely to meet you.
