[James has been busy today, but he's been in very good spirits lately. There's an extra skip in his step and a bright smile as he goes down every single hall in the mansion and tosses a red invitation beneath every door that looks like it might have someone living behind it. It reads:

James Potter & Lily Evans
Request the honour and pleasure
of your company at their marriage on
Saturday the twentieth of June

at three o'clock in the afternoon
in the Gardens of Wonderland.

He's admittedly gone a bit overboard with distributing them. In addition to slipping them under doors, he's charmed several of them to stick to the walls and doors, and there are even some strewn about communal areas like the kitchen and the tea rooms. The idea is for no one to be able to go anywhere in the mansion at all without learning the good news - that not only are James and Lily getting married, but they have a date.

At some point in the middle of distributing them, James decides to take a break and sits right down on the stairs. He sends out a message to the network, holding up one of their invitations.]

So! You might've found one of these already, but if not I'm sure you will soon - Lily and I are getting married! In two weeks!

[He sounds like he can hardly believe it himself. He's so excited, and so happy. Happier than he's been in a few weeks even.]

I just wanted to be absolutely clear - everyone's invited. We could all use a bit of a celebration, don't you think so? And we know there's always the chance an event could come and derail things - if that's the case, the 27th will be the...err. "Rain" date, let's say. [It's not really, but everyone knows what he means.]

Anyhow, I've got to give out the rest of these. [He waves the invitations in his hand.] We hope to see you all there!

[Then he stands up and shuts the camera off, getting back to work. He can be contacted by video, or he can be found distributing more invitations all over the place.]

[James gives him a bit of a funny look and then laughs. If Hook can pretend he never heard, then so can he.]

Since nearly forever now! I can't believe you haven't heard! We must not have been shouting it loudly enough from the rooftops, I suppose.

I should hope so, considering I've nearly wallpapered the entire mansion with these.

[Well, maybe he hasn't gone that far, but they really are practically everywhere.]

[ Blake! Blake totally guessed this would happen. Honestly, it's quite pleasing to hear. ]

Congratulations. Is there anything I can do to help out?

I know; it was an absolute shock!

[Not really, but James doesn't mind if everyone saw it coming months ago.]

Thanks! Just come to the wedding, and bring everyone you can! If you know any musicians that would be helpful too, but we'll figure something out I'm sure.

[Wow, they're definitely not throwing this together at the last moment when they've had months to prepare. What? Pfft, no. Whatever gave you that idea?]

If I had to wait any longer, the dress I'd already picked out would be at risk of going out of style.

[And we couldn't have that happen, could we? ...but, no, the bright smile on her face betrayed the happiness she felt for them both. Honestly.]

[James laughs.]

I'm sure that would've been a tragedy! Glad we set one just in time then.

[He's just as happy though, and it shows all over his face.]

We wanted a bit of time to call ourselves engaged, but it's been long enough now. I don't think I could stand to wait any longer!

[Jo is grinning from ear-to-ear when she responds, having already retrieved her invitation from beneath her door and promptly wrangled Simon into agreeing to dress up and be her date to this most important event.]

Two weeks is pretty damn fast-- although I know you've been waiting a hell of a lot longer.

[You're a patient soul, James.]

It might be fast for you, but we've had months to prepare for this! It's not as though we're tossing it together at the last moment.

[Spoiler: They are absolutely tossing it together at the last moment. They could have and should have done more planning, but beyond idle daydreaming and finding someone to officiate the ceremony, the bulk of the preparations they've made have been in the last week or two.

Not that James is about to admit that, of course. Besides, is it so wrong of them to have jsut enjoyed being engaged for a little while?]

I'd be more shocked if you weren't - it's going to be the most fantastic wedding you've ever been to, I promise.

[About the time James hits the third floor with those invitations, Lily pops up behind him with her wand in hand-- and her own stack of invitations in the other, having tastefully posted several in very public places.]

At this rate, we'll have the place wallpapered with invitations before the end of the day. Hope everyone likes red.

[She grins, shifting to tuck her own stack beneath her arm.]

Interested in breaking for lunch, Romeo?

Pfft. Who wouldn't like red? It's objectively the best color out there.

[Because he's not at all biased in any way whatsoever. Nope.

He turns around and has a grin to match hers. Hanging up invitations and making sure everyone knows makes the wedding seem even more real than it already was, and James is brimming with excitement as though it's happening tomorrow.]

For Juliet? Absolutely. We've got all day to get these out, after all - and that's if we don't get sick of it and enchant them to hang themselves up.

[He tucks his own stack away and offers her his arm.] Where to?

Congratulations on the auspicious occasion, and my respectful compliments to the bride to be. Having not made the acquaintance of yourself or Ms. Evans, receiving one of your invitations was an unexpected surprise.

If you do not mind my asking, is there a reason for inviting so wide a following? I would have expected family and close friends only.

[Or at least she will when he mentions it to her. They've hit the point in their relationship where he's entirely comfortable just tacking her onto his messages like that.]

There is a reason. You see, if we limited it to friends and family from home, we would only have two people in attendance - three at most. [Luna clearly counts, even though she's far ahead of them in time.] If it is expanded to friends in Wonderland it becomes a bigger party, but even then it would still be smaller than we'd like.

[James debates how detailed to get about it, but then he decides to just go for it.]

We're due to be married at home as well, but we've learned the ceremony will be rushed, quiet, and very small if things stay the way they are. So, we thought we should take the chance to have the sort of ceremony we really want. We want everyone to come celebrate with us!

[ Dany eyes the feed suspiciously, but if James is keen-eyed (which he is), he'll notice the hint of a smile. ]

Are you truly inviting the entire mansion? Do you have no enemies who might cast a pall on your wedding day?

[It's a fair concern, but James doesn't seem worried.]

Hm...not really. Or at least, none that I think would do anything worth worrying about. [There's Dean, but supposedly he's back to normal now.] The worst that could happen is Wonderland itself trying to ruin things, but if it does then we'll just push it back a week. Nothing could spoil this for us.

[He sounds confident insisting that, though hopefully he's not tempting Fate there. Frankly though, considering his future, he's pretty sure Fate owes him one at this point.]

Nice to hear some good news for once.

[Especially given the way Neal and James had met and all. Seriously though, it's impossible not to feel happy for the guy, given the way he's beaming over the network. Neal would be hard pressed to say when he last saw someone looking so gleeful over anything here.]

[he continues in his head:] (This is just overkill, dude. And that's coming from the dead kid.)

Of course we meant everyone - I wouldn't have said it if I didn't!

[Everyone means everyone. James laughs though.]

Don't get too used to calling her that! She'll be Mrs. Potter in a couple of weeks, after all! [And he is absolutely delighted by that.]

[James has been pretty good to Carl while he's been here and he'd say they're on good terms. He's happy for the guy - he wouldn't call James a friend right out, but he seems like he deserves it. Good for him. More than that, it's nice to see something like that. That people at least have this sort of thing as a luxury.]

[And James is pleasantly surprised when Carl says he'll come to the wedding. Somehow, James imagined he might take more convicing, but he figures he must be settling in well. And that's good. Good for him!]

Saying everyone's invited might be a bad idea

[ might as well put that out there, though dean wants to believe james has thought this through. either way, he's testing the waters here, carefully and... uncertainly. what he'd said to james, threatened to do, it hadn't been a joke. and this? isn't so much about going to the wedding, but simply seeing where they stand at all. ]

[To be entirely honest, Dean is the main reason for them to be concerned about inviting everyone, but somehow saying "everyone except Dean Winchester" didn't seem right either. He's supposed to be cured after all, but James is still angry. He's furious about the threats, and about what happened to Jo, and about the specific way he was threatened - the promise of possession, something that makes James' skin crawl to even think about.

He's not sure he buys that anything can completely cure someone of what Dean became. So, naturally, he runs his mouth more than he should instead of addressing the issue Dean's brought up.]

Oh? Is it now? Can't imagine why you'd think that, aside from the fact that you're a walking bad idea yourself.

[ Simon's voice is fond and friendly and matching the wide grin on his lips. ]

Thanks! And I can only imagine! She seemed fairly excited earlier.

[As does James, right now. He's thrilled about the whole thing really and he's probably going to spend the next two weeks ricocheting from excited to nervous to absolutely overjoyed.]

Oh, is that what they're called? I never realized! [He's entirely serious about that part, but he laughs after.] I'm sure you'll manage for one night though - unless you'd rather wear dress robes, of course.

Well, technically we found each other at home, but why waste all this time not being married when we could be married for even longer than we're supposed to?

Thank you! We're hoping so. We're still working out the finer details, but we'll let you know. Outfits are set, and everything else...well, we're getting there.

[Someone is trying to plan a whole wedding in two weeks. James and Lily have clearly made excellent life choices here.]

[ Now, Hannibal doesn't really know James all that well, nor does he care to, but a wedding is the perfect opportunity to show his face. Who would dare be so brash as to attempt to confront him at a wedding? Can you even imagine the rudeness? I mean Hannibal can, but he wouldn't have to raise a finger to stop it. It's a wedding not a witch burning.

Being amicable to the host though, would not be amiss. ]

I believe congratulations are in order. I would offer to prepare a menu for the occasion but this soon to the wedding I'm sure you have catering entirely under control.

[Unfortunately, Hannibal has made something of a name for himself and James and Evelyn go back years now. He's well aware of that post she made, outing Hannibal's crimes to the entire mansion. James had been horrified at the time, and still is to some degree, but right now he's mostly just...astonished he would offer after all that. Honestly, he sort of wants to laugh, but he bites his tongue. Laughing at the local cannibal is probably not the wisest move.]

We do have it under control, actually! The diner will be helping us there, though the offer is...appreciated.

[Not really. Not even a little, actually, but he figures he ought to be polite about it.]

[James wouldn't call himself fluent, not by a long shot, but he did have an aristocratic upbringing and several vacations to France when he was young.]

We were hoping it might be. Everyone could use a party by now I'm sure, and we're more than happy to share the big day with everyone. Besides, the more the merrier, right?
