[It wasn't enough, she thinks, to lose so much back home that she had to return here to another loss she was only just rebuilding. It wasn't enough to take away, it wasn't enough to really hurt, no, to quietly return to a familiar room, empty with its vast walls and dark corners. Slowly she filled it again, odds and ends of furniture and the trappings of a home to which she can never return.

She has a reputation to uphold even in spite of the circumstances, better to nurse the greatest wound out of the public eye, a garish scar across her stomach. Evelyn could swear the blade reached her heart.

The exhaustion nestles deep into her bones, a palpable chill that reminds her what she is.

What she isn't.]

I've been informed I was away for a little while, [she addresses the network, unable to muster more than a tired smile.] Perhaps someone might catch me up. I'll be-

[For a moment Evelyn appears distracted, hand gravitating toward her waist.]

I'll be in the library. I've also got several, erm, dogs that need homes. Please let me know if you're interested.

Well, there's...currently a Welsh Corgi and a small boar piglet that haven't be homed, yet?

[Hopefully he might take them as a set.]

Reasonably well-behaved, the pair of them, ah- the dog is named "Ein," I don't believe the piglet was ever named.

I...I'm sorry, I honestly have no idea. You could name it something that isn't gender-specific?

Hmm. If it didn't already have a name, I don't know that I'm ready for that sort of responsibility. [But he can take care of it, obviously. Naming is much more serious.] You have any suggestions?

[A very wry part of her thinks she should name the thing "Bacon," but it seems in poor taste.]

...it's very sweet in temperament, um...Latif, perhaps? It's Arabic, for gentle.

[Perhaps it is a testament to Evelyn's immense knowledge of languages that it doesn't seem particularly odd to suggest something along these lines when naming a piglet. Then again, stranger things have happened.]

I'm- a linguist, it just...sort of came to mind.

Just not a language I'd have thought of, I suppose. I do shout Latin and Greek an awful lot, though, so I suppose I can't judge.

[Not that he knows many of the literal translations for the spells he casts.]
