[When the video turns on, it seems pre-preemptive and not from the usual angle Shepard's seen at- instead of being on her arm, it's actually projecting directly from the device, streaming sideways from her nightstand. Shepard can be seen coming in and out of frame, seeming to be putting a few things in a duffel bag. It looks like she could be cleaning, if her hands weren't shaking and she wasn't muttering to herself something that's not being picked up on the recording. It doesn't take her long to notice the device is on, and rolls her eyes as she picks it up, addressing the network but still looking more serious than her usual playful demeanor shows off.]

Sorry about that. Damn thing isn't working right. Though, good timing, because I was gonna ask something anyway.

[She shifts, trying to look more nonchalant. It doesn't come off perfectly to anyone who's paying attention.]

Anyone know any good places to relax in this place? Still a little messed up from that last event. Wonderland really knows how to throw us for a loop. Looking to chill for a bit. Let me know. Might not check this thing a lot in the next couple days to try and get my mind off things.

[She will, of course, be ignoring all suggestions, because what's really happening here is a thinly veiled panic attack, and she'll be running off to her battle tank. Aside from responding to the main prompt, anyone who might know where she is can feel free to find her holed up in the Mako. It'll either be parked behind the Greenhouse, or, on one occasion, driven down to the beach so Shepard can sit on top, looking out to the ocean.

(They are concerned.)

[...That sure is a very large, very armored vehicle on the beach. Certainly not something that Toriel was expecting to see during this pleasant walk.

She thinks she recognizes the person sitting atop it, as well.]

Um... Excuse me, ma'am? Is this really the best place to have something like this?

[Toriel holds a hand to her mouth, calling out as she approaches, lowering her voice as she gets closer.]

It seems like an area that is a little too public for a tank. ...That is a tank, right? I have never actually seen one before, but you mentioned having one.

[Well, that was sure odd! From what little Chara knows of the illustrious Commander Shepard, she's a lady whose shit is very together. This carefully-projected veneer of casual small talk, this hasty packing of things, this mumbling to herself... it looked like the kind of thing Chara would do.

They didn't comment on it at the time. Didn't have a good answer. (They knew a great spot, but the more people are aware of hiding spot, the less of a hiding spot it is, and it might have sort of been a little less picturesque after Chara and Frisk left it.) They don't know what room she lives in, either, so they don't bother visiting there.

Instead, they just... wander. Used to walking aimlessly until they stumble onto encounters, and they sort of know what they're looking for, after all.

There it is, out by the greenhouse. The tank she let them fire one time.

Maybe it's empty. If it is, maybe they can hotwire it. (Probably not, they know absolutely nothing about hotwiring tanks, but it's an appealing idea.) If it's not empty...

They pick up a rock and chuck it at the Mako as hard as they can.]

[She smiles, trying to look genuine. No need for them to worry!!! None at all!!!!!!!!!!!!]

Sorry, Legion, you missed out on the last event. It was a real doozy. Got a lot to think about, is all.

[Shepard is sitting cross-legged, looking out at the ocean, and almost jumps a mile out of her skin when she hears Toriel calling for her, scrambling a bit to regain her footing so she doesn't fall face-first into the sand. Finally, she sees who's calling, tries to regulate her breathing, get her act under control.]

Sorry. Wasn't planning to fire it or anything. Just kinda wanted to drive somewhere.

[She swings around, sitting on the edge closest to Toriel and letting her feet dangle.]

Figured this might be quiet- didn't mean to scare you.

[It is, in fact, not empty, and Chara is more right than Shepard will ever want to admit. She's sprawled out across the chairs of the backseat, duffel bag mostly full of food and some clothes down on the floor, and she does, in fact, jump when the rock hits and ends up right next to it with a loud thump. She's got the top of it open, the "sunroof" of sorts, and she falls directly into the path of the light, grumbling. Who the fuck. Why the fuck.

Shepard climbs up, sticking her head out the top, and... yeah. Of course this would happen. One of the people on a short list she was sort of hoping wouldn't have to see this. She leans on the top, propping her head up on her elbow.]

You're not gonna break it that way, you know. Armor's a lot better than that.

That is understandable. Peace and quiet and a calming atmosphere is why I wanted to take a walk as well. So, I am sure you can understand why seeing something like this on the sand... took me out of the mood ever so slightly.

[Really, it's... kinda surreal. The sound of waves crashing against the shore, an occasional seagull cawing, cool ocean breezes, sand beneath her feet... and a several ton death machine parked in front of her.]

Still! I hope that it is helping you relax.

[Judging by the last video post Toriel had seen from Shepard, it does seem like she needed it.]

Shepard.

[And then he stops.

He knows what this is. He knows what he's looking at. He knows what he's looking at because he's looked at it before and felt it before and she's the one that gripped him and grounded him when he got wrenched back here and felt horribly, gut-wrenchingly sick with himself.

This is panic. And she's doing jack squat to hide it.]

[So. Assess the situation, Kralie. Decide what you can influence. Determine the risks and costs and benefits. Torque it.

He torques it.

He remembers a tank. Small cramped space, not something one might favor if one is claustrophobic. But perhaps what one might favor if one needs to feel safe, in control.]

I'm coming.

[Why. Why is he coming to her aid. Why does he plan on showing up. Some sense of obligation? Solidarity between those that understand what it is to cope with a rifting, shearing panic, the abyss-like nature of your mind when it yields to exterior influence and turns the world into grayish smears?

Perhaps out of debt.

He owes her.

So from one fuck-up to another, he starts to look.]

[A tank is not a difficult thing to miss. He scours the area, he locates it.

He approaches, and he knocks.]

Shepard. It's...Alex.

[ she knows shepard. maybe not completely, but you can only follow someone on so many suicide missions before you have some idea of what makes them tick. and something's ticking wrong here, so tali doesn't leave it to a network communication. instead she checks shepard's room, then anywhere else that seems likely. and then as a last resort, she heads to where she's narrowed down shepard to be and where tali's been avoiding since she first saw it parked there.

there's no point in knocking, so tali doesn't, just crawls into the mako like she's done so many times before and turns to tug the door shut behind her. ]

I would give you suggestions but I don't think that's what you're really looking for.

( The 'not going to check the device for a bit' gave her away. Plus Lydia's #seentoomuch to not pick up on a few things. You've protected her Shepard, she wants to try and help )

[ There's a few moments of silent debate and thought before Natasha opens up a feed to reply to the message, her own expression carefully composed - a defense mechanism she's fallen into in the days since the latest event. ]

I suppose it depends on what you're looking for in relaxation. That tends to differ with a person's preference of coping mechanism.

[ Robyn remembers easily a few times in her own Wonderland stay where she'd looked and sounded much like Shepard does now. As such, she hesitates, torn between concern and... more concern, really, but unwilling to let this lie. ]

I have somewhere I could show you, if you'll meet me. [ Then, she offers a tiny smile, adding: ] You mustn't tell anyone, though. It's a secret.

[ And it isn't the chapel she'd made, though she's found solace there before, and though she and Shepard had both been there together. ]

Kinda depends on your definition of "relaxing."

[Nate's personal favorite place to relax is on the roof, but not everyone likes to climb ten stories without a harness. He can't understand why, but then, he is incapable of empathizing with the notion that some folk are afraid of heights.]

[Really, they haven't entirely planned this through as much as they like to plan things through. It was a "because you can, you have to" situation. They can understand this. They literally did exactly this, like, a month or two ago. Shepard laid in a flowerbed with them a while back, and now they're... here. To... to do something.

Wow, they have no idea how to fix this problem! Should have asked Frisk, maybe.

Guess they'll just... do their best. For whatever that's worth.]

May I come in?

[Honestly, Shepard can see why Toriel would be surprised. To her, the tank is safe, in fact, probably the safest place to be- nobody's going to be able to kill her through tons and tons of steel and armor plating. But that's... not what normal people think about. Not what normal people worry about. It's been hard remembering that, in Wonderland, after spending so much time surrounded by war.]

Yeah, just... trying to find some peace.

[She looks curiously down at Toriel, and thinks for a second before speaking again.]

Do you wanna like... see it? I mean, inside, or up here. Might make you feel better about it existing. I won't turn it on if it worries you.

I am glad that you have found somewhere to relax! I would have offered you advice before, but... I did not really have any. The library or the kitchen help me relax, but they are not exactly secret spots. If you enjoy reading or cooking, then those would be rather obvious choices.

[A moment of thought passes, as she looks down at the sandy ground beneath her.]

I suppose I could have mentioned the beach, though. It did not come to me at the time. Still, you found it anyway, so it does not matter too much.

It... could be a nice view, and could be interesting to see how it works? So long as you are treating it more as a means of transportation at the moment.

[Toriel looks up at Shepard, before climbing up onto the tank, sitting herself down next to her.]

[Hmmm.]

You wanna borrow my ship? No getaway like being about two miles in the air. And it's got a h-hover mode, so you can just chill.

[Sans kind of needs a getaway too. He's been making himself rather scarce the last few days in an effort to just sort of...relax. Not that he's particularly stressed, but being around people lately has been pretty relaxing. The beach is big enough that it's pretty easy to avoid anyone who's there to swim.]

[He's just kind of wandering when he spots the tank further down the beach and haha holy shit that's definitely a fucking tank on the beach. He only knows cause he's seen pictures. Well, this he's gotta see.]

[There's also a lady up on the top. He approaches pretty cautiously since...well, he's pretty sure he can dodge a tank...bullet? thing? by just teleporting to the other freaking side of Wonderland, but still. That's not something he'd particularly like to risk.]
