[ Usually when Clint wants to think or be alone he heads for the tallest thing he can find, in Wonderland's case, besides trees, that would be the mansion roof. Only today he's found himself wandering down to the shooting range by the beach with his bow and quiver. He really needs to fix this place up.

It was weird, waking up that morning in a room he didn't remember for a moment. The last thing he remembered was Steve getting them out of the raft and then...well then he was a sixteen year old Hogwarts student. His memories came back slowly and then all at once. Wonderland. He wondered how long he was gone, it feels like he's missing time.

So he heads down to the shooting range to clear his head for a few hours and at some point in there he addresses the network. He figures someone might want to know he's back. ]

Uh. So I'm back, I guess? I mean I've been back, but we had that weird event and I didn't know I was back. Yeah. Back from a trip home. [ Now he knows what everyone has been talking about. They were right, he was probably better off not knowing. ]

Does anyone else miss flying on a broom?

[ He's about to turn the feed off but he pauses and looks back at the camera. ] Hey Rogers, just so you know, I still don't feel the need to punch you.

[ Then he ends the feed for good, going back to shooting his arrows at targets. ]

[ She doesn't know Barton as well as the rest of the Avengers, but she knows what it's like to come back from that point back home. She'd seen Steve, Romanoff, Wanda, and Tony when they had each come back. It looked like Sharon had gotten lucky this time around. The others look like they've seen a version of hell.

They've all lost everything, it seems. Sharon might be the only one who isn't bothered it.

She pastes a small smile on her face and is just about to respond when he cuts the feed.

Mopey, huh?

Huh. Barton isn't much of a moper.

Now she's bothered. Turning off her comm, she goes to track him down. It's almost an hour before she spots someone shooting arrows at the shooting range - and there are only so many people who do that.

She makes her way down and sets her hands on her hips, watching for several moments before speaking. ]

Welcome back. And for the record, I do not have a crush on you. And would never have had a crush on you.

[ See? Light-hearted, embarrassing stuff. That ought to help lighten the mood. Right, Clint? ]

[ Clint knows she's there. He spotted her out of the corner of his eye but since she seemed content to just watch his target practice he waits for her to talk.

He's surprised when her words make him let out a small laugh. He shoots off his last arrow and turns to look at her, bow resting in his hand. ]

Damn, Carter, I'm hurt. Do you like them more spangly?

[ Sorry, Sharon. He totally knows about the kiss. Sam has a big mouth and teasing Steve is tradition. ]

Oy. Hands off the bow. Gone one week and you're divvying out my gear?

[ Well, eventually everyone's time was going to come around, right? At least this means they're all more or less on the same page.

Clint's remark directed at Steve should be some kind of relief, yet in the end he fixates on the fact that it was "Rogers" and not "Cap." Which is how it should be now, but even for someone who chose to set down the shield, it's an adjustment.

While Steve could go find Clint at the shooting range, he still isn't convinced that his company would be wanted, and so talking over phone is easier. For both of them, probably. ]

Glad to hear it. [ Although Steve's guilt about taking Clint away from his family yet again still remains firmly in place. ] Have you talked to anyone else yet?

[ Well this was definitely the Steve he remembered, not the Professor he was used to seeing for the past few days. It was almost a shame, Steve was never as relaxed or, to a certain extend, carefree. He always felt like he had to carry the world on his shoulders. It was times like this when Clint wished he could help carry the load and give him a break.

Contrary to what Steve thinks, his presence is always welcome, and Clint stops what he's doing to reply. ]

I told ya, Cap. I have your back, no regrets. [ He knew what he was getting into. Even if Laura may kill him, but she knew too. He had her blessing when he left. ]

Not yet. That event kinda threw me. I wanted to clear my head. [ He shoots him a grin. ] I would apologize for trying to convince you to give a lecture shirtless, but I'm not actually sorry.

nah, wasn't a big fan of the brooms. seemed too precarious. you'd think they'd come up with something a bit safer than, yanno, a flying stick.

[..thats...a skeleton. Ok. Not the weirdest thing he's seen actually. He's just gonna go with it. ]

I'm used to balancing on small surfaces from large heights, at least with the broom I had more control.

Now who would have ever thought they would say a sentence like that? [ He shoots her a grin. ] Thanks. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be grateful I'm back or not. Still working that out.

[ Natasha doesn't bother with a video feed, now that they're all back to themselves and this message comes through. She knows right where to find him, so she shows up with a thermos of coffee for him, holding it out as she stares at the targets he's been murdering since he sent the message. ]

Bet Stark could build you a flying broom, if you were that attached to the damn thing.

[ Because this is how they did things. Tested the waters, so to speak, until they found a place they were both comfortable launching into the thick of it. ]

[ She's the first person to find him. Not that he's surprised really. Most of that video was to let her know he was back and all- other people too but mostly Natasha. ]

Think it would be an apology broom? [ He lets the arrow he currently has nocked fly as he turns his head to look at her reaching for the thermos she was offering him. He wasn't mad at her, not really, he was more mad at the entire situation. ]

[It took a lot of deliberating before he finally decided to give it a whirl. He'd been so attached to Barton as a student, but Barton didn't know him as anything other than his teacher then.]

I sure as hell miss flying a broom.

[His tone is confident, yet playful. That was why he went with audio rather than video, because he sure as hell didn't look either of those things right now. He looked more like he was walking on eggshells. Felt it in the pit of his stomach.]

...so, welcome back. I... mm. ...didn't think this one through. [It was weird having made up with Barton before the guy actually lived it, but now...? Yeah, time to go back to not talking to people, apparently.] You may not wanna punch Rogers, but I promise I'll keep my distance if you promise not to punch me if we pass by accident.

Of course you do. [ And its easy at first to forget that he's angry and to fall back into the banter they shared as teacher and student. But things aren't that easy not yet. ]

Do you ever? [ It's harsh and Clint almost regrets it. Almost. ] One question, Stark.

Flying on a broom? No. [ Caitlin shakes her head for extra emphasis. If the Hogwarts version of herself had one class she failed at, it would have been flying. ] Aside from one very particular instance, I prefer a little more between me and the ground when moving at high rates of speed.

[ That exception being Barry Allen. But she's not going to say that. ]

It was weird, being eighteen again.

[ He shakes his head. ] No one seems to have an appreciation for flying. [ Not everyone enjoys heights as much as Clint. ]

It was weird being sixteen again. I haven't been sixteen in...well a lot of years. We'll leave it at that. Not sure I actually miss that part.

I don't miss brooms... Or the massive pile of books and being back in school. [ And yeah, okay, she's a little jelly that she's pretty much the only one who hasn't gone and will probably never go home but WHATEVER. There was more than enough going on around here and her plate was full bouncing back into the swing of Wonderland. ]

[ At least it was fun and no one died. He still hates when this place erases his memories though. ]

I kind of miss having the ability to boss everyone around... [No, Cami actually doesn't. Maybe a little.] The flying was pretty cool too. The random explosions though? Not so much.

So welcome back. That's a hell of a reintroduction. [Although it could've been worse in some ways; as far as events go, Cami thinks the last one had gone pretty well.] And given your comment to Steve, probably after a pretty messed up time back in your world, too.

[ Clint shoots her a grin. ] Now come on, the explosions weren't so bad. You did manage to circumvent a lot of them. Look no one should have let me near things that combust.

Thanks. I mean, it could have been worse. It could have been a weird zombie world we all thought we always lived in. I would much rather think I'm part of my son's favorite book series. [ And she hits the nail right on the head. ]

Yeeeah. I probably would have been more content to just stay here and. It know what was going on back home.

[ Well he can't keep the smirk off his face at that comment, -!; he's really hoping that the teenage boy didn't mean that to come off like it did. But he's amused nonetheless. ]

[Jo doesn't know Clint well enough to say much that's meaningful about his situation over the network, but they both make frequent use of the shooting range, which means they have something in common-- a sort of standing camaraderie, if he needs someone to talk to. She'd already been planning to head down there later in the day, and seeing Clint making use of the targets makes her move her plans up, approaching the range not long after his message goes out.]

[ Clint likes Jo, he has always admired a woman that knows her way around a gun, and a shooting range. He welcomes her presence whoever they are both out there practicing. It's nice, something familiar that doesn't remind him of home. She is a welcome distraction.

He turns his head slightly, sending her a glare that lacked anything that could resemble heat. ]

I'm just gonna pretend you didn't insult me like that, Lauchlan.
