Out of curiosity, how many of you have been to different dimensions, not counting this one? Alternate worlds? Other parallel planes of existence? Or... engaged in any form of time travel, for that matter. How did you do it? Was it even on purpose, or by some fluke?

I myself spent three decades adrift in the multiverse. Fascinating stuff.

Fiddleford and I should be able to take it apart with no problems, but Stanley, since you did push to have it built in the first place I thought it was only fair to tell you what I want to do.

Absolutely! My assistant and I built a multidimensional portal thirty years ago by my perspective. He's here in Wonderland and the night we tested it is his present, my past.

[And since it isn't a secret anymore and he's about to deconstruct it--]

Were you here last summer when there was a gravity anomaly? My brother and I--and another scientist--collaborated on a similar project to try and find a way to escape. All it did was lead to a very nauseating portal from the basement to the swimming pool.

That was you?? It happened shortly after my arrival. I've been engaged in portaling research for months here for that very reason -- I'd love to see the notes from your findings, even if there haven't been successes just yet.

[There are plenty of people here who want to play armchair scientist and say they could do it better. Fitz has yet to see anyone actually put something into practice.]

Yes, it was! We would have warned the mansion about the anomaly, but we hoped no one would be out of bed during the late night test. The building of that portal had some unfortunate social consequences--namely with our nephew and niece--but those have since been resolved.

The use of the portal actually caused an apocalypse at home, though I can also say that the crisis was averted. I wouldn't worry about that happening here, by the way. Wonderland's properties are vastly different from those of my home dimension and I liken this universe to a flexible but iron-clad bubble with extreme surface tension.

You'll uh, have to pardon any hesitation about sharing notes. It's been decades since I really shared those with anyone. My brother had a copy and shared them with another scientist while I was briefly sent home. [Ford rolls his eyes. There is definitely at least one story behind this wall of text, but at least Ford seems to be forthcoming and willing to share.]
