[ she's been missing for a month. cora doesn't know it for certain, but she can sense something is different about wonderland. it's the smell, the way the leaves crunched differently beneath her feet when she walked out of the woods earlier that day. she can't quite put her finger on what's different, but she knows that the world she had left behind earlier that morning (five weeks ago) has somehow shifted on its axis. ]

[ however, despite her suspicions, cora's not going to bother with the pleasantries. nor is she going to bother to ask. she doesn't do network posts — doesn't see the purpose in them — but she'd been out for a run in the woods. she'd gone out in hopes of pushing herself out of her negative headspace, but has only seemed to dive further in it. ]

Throw a dog a bone. Anyone know any good jokes? Could use a couple. My brother doesn't smile much and it'd be nice to see him :) for once. Or :D if I'm lucky.

[ ha ha. something is off and perhaps it's because derek hale has learnt how to smile. ]

[ cora does let out a little laugh. but because he has attached his time and space travel with a joke, cora doesn't think that he really is a time-space traveller. ]

Neither are they mine. I'm not really that funny. I went for a run in the woods. Guess I got lost. Or time moves differently there. Still a little confused on it. Things feel different, that's all I know for certain.

Guess eight should watch out - six wants to eat it. Think that joke would work if I said it aloud?

[ basically: the entire content is scary. derek laughing? cora capable of a joke? hales being happy? clearly this place is bonkers! cora would think so, too, if someone had told her months ago that she'd be in wonderland, asking for jokes to make her brother smile because she wants to see him show a flicker of positive emotion. ]

[ cora doesn't even think to question him questioning her being here, either. to her, scott has always been here, never having left wonderland in the first place. it's the bliss of having been trapped in some timeloop in the woods. ]

I've seen him try. Usually comes out as a :|. Not sure if his mouth knows how to form a :D. But I'm going to try. No knock knocks?

[ how can she forget the princess she always finds in distress? it's hard to forget someone who seems to be almost as damaged as she is. but as to who she's talking to, she doesn't really think too hard about it — at least, not as hard as adam is. she's just returned from being gone for longer than she had realised — talking to anyone right now is a bit of a fresh air. and to see someone she knows (but doesn't know) is a bit of a relief — things have changed, but not by too much. ]

Older. Bit of a :|. Apparently I've been gone for a while. Want to make him :) so he can forget about it for a bit.

[ and not lecture her, basically. distractions are good! ]

Well, I'm trying to put together an anti-gravity device, so a book on anti-gravity is bound to be of some use.

[ the first part makes him grin, because 100% true, but also kind of saddening. scott'd still get upset if only because isaac was his friend (for some deranged reason that stiles only barely understands) but...it didn't have the same weight to it anymore.

[ she can only imagine how derek feels, with cora back. with cora remembering. allison doesn't have siblings, so she can't possibly begin to understand, but there's a sinking feeling in her gut thinking back on that moment when they all realized cora was missing. ]

Kind of expected him to be mad. It's easier when he's annoyed with me.

[ and that's a little too much information for cora. she responds to anger better than anything else. derek upset and worried — she can't deal with. him telling her to stop pushing herself, him telling her to stay back, him telling her to watch herself and not do anything stupid — while it's all a sign of him caring, there's gruffness to it. she can fight back when he says things like that — prefaces it like an order — but when he's quiet and broody, she can't try and divert the attention away from his point. ]

[ she's been gone — missing, again. and to think of the pain it's caused her brother … she'd rather he be angry. ]

[ if cora was in hell, she would know that, without a doubt, derek would do something stupid to pull her out. that's the big difference between adam's brothers and her brother. but we don't all know that. all we need to know is that hales are stupid when it comes to family — including peter. ]

Probably. He doesn't like it when I walk into trouble. Might endure a lecture.

[ OR A HUG. but hales don't know how to hug. ]

I don't understand what's happened to me. I spent an hour or two in the woods. Apparently it's been longer than that.

[ she doesn't know why she adds anything else to the text. maybe it's because adam isn't part of the pack — what she tells him, he may forget. she may never cross paths with him again. it's not a big deal because he hasn't endured her being missing for six years. derek has — and she has a feeling the rest of the beacon hills gang have somehow become sponges and feel that sadness she knows she's caused him to feel, too. ]

We're not making that a thing, Humanboy. ;) Doesn't hurt to hope. We've stuck around this long. Ignore that I got lost.

[ i've stuck around this long. hales don't get happily ever afters — or happiness. doesn't stiles know that? the uncle she remembers has been blasted to bits by the selfish stranger who lingers in the loft derek and she call home. to be in wonderland for so long (if she disregards all the deaths and weird things that have shaken them up), it's a miracle — and a good thing. and definitely not the way life goes. ]

Yeah. Our family has a lot of trouble sticking around. Guess it didn't help I just took off without noticing.
