[ it's been a long time, months and months, since sansa had addressed wonderland. many moon cycles came and gone and people has well. today finds her in silks the color of the bluest skies and her hair in an elaborated braid that might remind some of a departed queen whose hair was silver. ]
Good people of Wonderland, I hope today finds you well.
[ formal and perhaps distanced, too. sansa had kept to her chambers for days on end, had not traded words with anyone. the stings were perhaps a bit too much. she had given herself some time to collect herself again and when the need came.
well, there she is. ]
Many people came and gone from this Wonderland of ours and I am missing a companion of my own. A direwolf named Lyanne I have sent to search for some friends that I have found - have departed from among us and were sent free.
[ her voice doesn't quiver, she tidies her gown and speaks again ]
She is highly likely still searching yet I must request that if you happen upon her, you shall tell her to find me. She is a direwolf of the north, larger than a wolf and smaller than a bear, her eyes are golden and her coat is that of grey for.
[ a beat and ]
And I am Lady Sansa of House Stark.

And I am Lady Sansa of House Stark.

[ said with a bright, rare smile. sansa has lost too much recently but the pines twins are something she has gained.
something she is not terrified of losing. she's so well-educated in the art of loss. ]
you must promise me to be careful, however.

[okay that's true...]

[ there is evident humor there because even sansa knows it's not true. but the last part is, well, almost true. for all the paranoia, dipper does tend to find himself in trouble. judging by the messages left on her mirror, he seemed to have run into some with the girl on the other side.
the one sansa absolutely loathes. ]
I could accompany you. mayhaps she'll appear if we are all together.

[ she used to believe king's landing to be one but that had proved to be quiet a different experience. what mabel describes is something more enjoyable and daring, something sansa never really experienced outside of stories.
but maybe. ]
you shall have to teach me, I think.

I have something for you. for your name day. I - forgive me, I was too ill to join the celebrations.

[she turns a little scarlet and rubs the back of her head.] It's not very fancy, but since I'm your bannerwoman and all, I wanted something to help me look the part.

[ her smile remains though it softens around the edge. she cannot truly tell mabel what it means for her to have bannermen, what it would have meant for her in westeros. she cannot lest she'll sadden her. not many ladies have bannerwomen but sansa knows from her lady mother and queen cersei and queen margaery and queen daenerys how strong women can be, stronger than men, even.
courtesy is a lady's favor, her septa said ages ago and some women carry heavier weapons, deadlier, too. ]
what is it? is it a cape?
no subject
There is, in fact, a tiny matching cape buttoned to the shoulders.] See? It's a Stark sweater!

Mabel will never know how few dare wear those colors and the sigil, how few who dare such are left.
and what it means to sansa, to see her House's colors again. ]
I think it's beautiful.

[ not that Sansa is usually cold here in Wonderland. a child of the north, the little snow of wonderland's winters barely registers. still, she would never refuse such an offer. ]
Perhaps I can come and see you, and give you your nameday present.

[And girl time is very important, especially when one is dealing with fancy princesses that Mabel is trying to slowly convert to the wonders of modern society.]

[ she feels a bit unsure without lyanne at her side but she walks towards her room, trying to call forward a sense of confidence. she knocks on the door and waits. a little package wrapped in satin in her hands. ]
happy belated nameday.
[ that's what she says with a smile when the door is opened. what. it's an important day in a girl's life. ]

[decorum tends to vanish out the window when you're a young girl and there are presents.]
action »
[ said with a brighter smile. sansa turns coy, a little mischief sneaking into her tone and expression as she asks, innocently ]
would you care to see it?
[ she doesn't wait for a response, opens the sheets on the bed. inside there is a new silk cape in silver, a pattern of flowers sewn carefully in white thread, sansa's handwork, no doubt. above them, rests a little trinket in silver ]
for you. I made certain of your size, it should fit well, I reckon.
action »
Sansa, it's so pretty. Did you make this? [she's almost hesitant to touch it, but she gets over it pretty quickly and proceeds to run her hands over the silk like she's petting a cat.] So silky...
action »
I thought you might wish to wear it when the weather turns colder.
action »
[and to prove it, she goes and clasps it around her shoulders. It was probably not meant to be worn with a handknit turtleneck, but Mabel will work it like it was.] Ta da! [she does a little spin on one foot to make the cloak swish around her.]
