Hey people! [Dipper grins, bouncing on his heels. If he hasn't slept much since the event, it's hard to tell, but considering how much sleep he got that weekend, it's really all averaged out to his usual semi-exhausted state.]

It's been a while and we've got a lot of new people so I thought it was time to remind people about the weekly game I'm running.

[He holds up an epic looking box.]

Dungeons, Dungeons, and More Dungeons! Which is pretty similar to something called Dungeons and Dragons or Warlocks and Warriors or probably some other magic stuff and other magic stuff that's found in any number of different worlds. It's tabletop roleplay, and it's awesome. If you're interested in escaping this weird fantasy world for a different, better weird fantasy world where you can fight evil and do magic and be awesome, let me know. Or just show up. I can help you make a character and show you the rule book.

[A beat.]

It… doesn't require as much math as you think it does. But you still might want to bring a calculator.

[He touches his hair as though to make sure, though.]

You remember it being white, right? No, I went home again and...well, I guess I went back to before I was here to begin with? Or something.

[It confuses him so much.]

[.....Dipper pays a lot of attention to Wonderland and the patterns therein. Don't mind him as he whips a notebook out.]

That's weird. But you remember Wonderland still?

I remember up to a point. But there's a gap in my memory, even though people have told me I was still here.

....that's impossible. Wonderland doesn't work like that.

[But if there's one thing Dipper knows, it's that Wonderland resists attempts to make it make any sense at all.]

Well....maybe, but I don't know how else to explain it. I was here, then I was gone and I don't remember anything. Then I came back months later, and everyone told me I'd been there the whole time. So...I don't know what else to tell you.

The only thing I can think of is that the me who was here then was the me from the future. I left, Wonderland jumped forward in my life to bring me back, then I left and it jumped backward again to bring me back again.

[He shrugs and shakes his head.]

I don't know if that even makes sense.

But the future you remembered Wonderland too. It would be just like the usual trips home except that now you don't remember any of it.

[Wonderland makes so little sense. Sometimes Dipper wonders why he even tries to get it to make any sense.]

I don't get it either. Except...if I went back in time when I went home the second time, then it would make sense for me to forget, right? Because this me hasn't been here for that period of time yet....

[Even though that time is in the past. He wants to just throw up his hands in defeat, but that seems a bit dramatic.]

[It's cool, Dipper'll do it for you. He throws up his hands, rolling his eyes.]

Dangit, whenever I think I have Wonderland figured out, it throws me for another loop! Why can't it be consistent in even one little way?

I guess it's consistent in not being consistent?

[So cliche.]

I mean, yeah, I guess. [Which only raises more questions. How can Wonderland be so good at being inconsistent? How does it know to break its patterns at just the right times to throw everything else into question?

He's still convinced it's at least semi-sentient. This doesn't change his mind. Wonderland doesn't want to be understood.]

So... everything that happened to you back home... you don't remember any of it?

[Kaneki perks up, shaking his head.]

Did I tell you about it?

A little bit.

[Should he... offer to fill Kaneki in? He's not really sure how to say "you got super tortured" in a way that is helpful and tactful. Or if there's even any point, since he'll forget everything.]

We were cooking for a monster. It was an event.

A mons-- I definitely don't remember that.

[But that's not the important thing here. He has to pause for a moment, because...does he really want to know this? Things were getting pretty dicey when he was last home. It's not like knowing will change anything that's going to happen. But...]

And...?

[Dipper grimaces, glancing away.]

...I don't know, dude. I'm not sure I should tell you. It's spoilers, right?

...It's bad, isn't it?

[What else would you have expected from your life, Kaneki?]

...yeah. Sorry, man. I wish I could tell you it wasn't, but.... [He shrugs a shoulder.] Maybe Wonderland was trying to do you a favor?

By bringing me back from before it happened so I don't remember it?

[Yeah, maybe. He thinks it's more likely he's being messed with though.

He looks away for a moment, his brows knitted. He has to gather himself before he speaks again.]

...I think I'd still like to know. If you'll tell me.

[Dipper nods, expression firm. It's not a pretty story, but he knows he'd be pretty annoyed if someone knew his future and wouldn't tell him. That means he's gotta let people make their choices. Even if their choices means Dipper needs to talk about unpleasant things.]

You were, uh, tortured. For a really long time.

[He was expecting to hear something unpleasant, but not something like that. He just sits and kind of stares for a minute before realizing that he is and glancing away.]

That's uh...

Did I tell you anything else?

[Like why?]

You wanted to find the guy who did it. And you... really weren't hanging out with humans anymore, which seems not super healthy for you but hey, trauma. I'm not judging.

[Maybe it would have been better to just leave this topic alone. Too late now, though.]

I didn't really hang out with that many humans anyway... [His voice is quiet, without any force at all in it.]

I... This is a lot to take in.

Yeah, I... I'm sorry, man. I know. I wish I had more details.

[He also is so glad he doesn't. Even what he knows is pretty bad.]

...It's probably better if you don't.

[For both of them. Dipper's not that much younger than him, but Kaneki still feels responsible for keeping crazy things away from him.]

Of course. [It wasn't easy, but Dipper knows he'd want to know in Kaneki's position. He wasn't about to hide it.] You gonna be okay?

Yeah...I think so.

[He forces a smile, his left hand at his chin.]

Uh, I don't think I'll be playing with you guys this time, but I'll try to come next time.
