[Dipper looks even more frazzled than usual. The stress lines that always surround his eyes are more pronounced than usual.]

So, you might have noticed a really strange transmission that went through? That... that's from my world. His name's Bill Cipher. He looks like a surprisingly well dressed triangle, and he's... some kind of demon, I guess. He can get into your head and mess with your dreams and just be creepy.

[He leans in closer to the camera.]

Whatever you do, don't trust him. Really, it's probably best to run as far away as you can if you see him. And let me know if he somehow gets into your head. I've gotten him out before, I can do it again.

[He sits back a bit.]

Oh my god, you're green. [...that's rude, Dipper. Which he realizes after a moment, at least, and cringes.] I mean... there's nothing sweet about him. He's dangerous. More dangerous than anything I've ever--I'm sorry, are you a gem like Amethyst? Can you shapeshift too?

...I'm getting off topic. Bill. He's not likely to teach you anything except how to never sleep again.

certainly. I am made from emeralds and on Tuesdays, I become a dragon.

and you seem to know him. how do you stop him?

...see it sounds like you're being sarcastic, but it wouldn't be remotely the weirdest thing I've seen so I'm not sure. [This is his life now. Dragons and people made from emeralds.] And it's not like being color blind would necessarily mean I wouldn't know what color you are, just that if you were wearing, say, a red necklace, I might not be able to see it.

[Dipper cannot help being this pedantic. Especially right now when he's already tightly wound and nervous. Is this just gonna be his life from now on? Waiting for whatever Bill is planning and freaking out?]

I'm still working on a way to stop him, but I've followed him into someone's head before and managed to chase him out. It can be done, though it's... kind of disturbing. [Some of those memories......]

well, you stopped him once, no reason you cannot do it again, logically.

He isn't funny. Even aside from all the horrors he inflicts, his jokes are terrible.

I hope so. But I'd really rather not have to. Going inside someone else's head is a weird experience.

from the little I know of demons, they don't seem to be keen on changing their ways. whatever horror that thing has done before, it'll likely do it again.

I don't know. But I figure people'll be better off with some warning right?

well, there is this for comfort: if that thing is powerful, it's not more powerful than the force that brought it here.

...I don't know if that's a comfort or not.

[He doesn't want to be dealing with anything more powerful than Bill Cipher, ever.

And he's also not sure it's true. It all depends on if Bill actually intends to be here or not.]

well, so very few beings here design to offer us comfort to begin with.

[ better be a realistic about it. ]

When it's him? [Dipper grimaces, curling his arms around himself.] I've seen a lot of weird stuff, both here and in Gravity Falls. He's worse.

[ 'worse' is always relative but from what he says, it does sound like they're in for a big amount of trouble. ]

It must be our luck, we have the one who defeated him once on our side.

[He squints at her, trying to tell if she's being sarcastic or not. He's very used to not being taken seriously.] Yeah. You'd all be in a lot more trouble if I wasn't here.

[ for once, absolutely not sarcastic ]

I should think so. When dealing with such creatures, someone with experience is quite an important thing.

Yeah, it sure would have been nice last time. I ended up walking around with a hole in my chest for fifteen minutes before I learned that in the Mindscape you can do anything.

...considering I was walking around with a hole in my chest, I probably should have figured that out more quickly. The rules of the physical world definitely weren't in play.

I'm very tempted to ask if you shall indulge me and tell me what the Mindscape is - it sounds almost like the concept of a dream.

[ at least in the philosophical way. ]

That's... really pretty much what it is. A mishmash of dreams and memories and... I dunno. Your mind? [The real answer is, Dipper doesn't know. He doesn't know nearly as much as he wishes he did. What kind of expert is he?]

Let me see that I understand - the demon you're speaking of can enter one dreams and mind? and you have - you can manipulate said mind?

[ so very curious, you might be her new favorite ]

Not exactly. I mean... sort of. It's complicated? [He grimaces. It would be so much easier if he actually understood this stuff himself.] You can't manipulate other peoples' minds, exactly, but you can manipulate yourself within the mind.

The mind can be a complicated and quite terrifying.

[ slowly. ]

You're quite brave to face that.

You really think so? [Dipper smiles slowly, bolstered by the praise.] I mean, I do what I can. It's not like I could leave my great uncle's head to be invaded by a demon.

Of course I do. If we didn't have your advice, how could we hope to know how to deal with that being? We should be grateful for even that.
