[Dipper looks even more frazzled than usual. The stress lines that always surround his eyes are more pronounced than usual.]

So, you might have noticed a really strange transmission that went through? That... that's from my world. His name's Bill Cipher. He looks like a surprisingly well dressed triangle, and he's... some kind of demon, I guess. He can get into your head and mess with your dreams and just be creepy.

[He leans in closer to the camera.]

Whatever you do, don't trust him. Really, it's probably best to run as far away as you can if you see him. And let me know if he somehow gets into your head. I've gotten him out before, I can do it again.

[He sits back a bit.]

...that's about it. Any questions?

A demon.

[Angel had seen the transmission, but had opted to observe rather than engage. Seems like that might have been the right choice, for the time being.]

You and I should talk. In private.

We can try.

[At this point, he's not sure how much private is a possibility with Bill.] Where?

Fourth floor, room ten.

[He can't guarantee privacy, but there are a few anti-spook wards on the place. It had been a standard precaution back at the old offices. Seemed right to have it in place in the new ones, too.]

I'll meet you there in five.

Got it! [Dipper nods seriously, then turns off his phone. He leaves it in his room. Considering how much fun Bill's been having just suddenly butting into his private conversations, it seems like the safest plan.

He heads over to the room and knocks on the door.]

Hello?

[Angel is sure to check the peephole before he answers-- just in case. The place will be open for business soon enough, but as it is, it's only about three quarters of the way to looking like the lobby of the Hyperion Hotel, which is the goal. He doesn't want Cordelia or anyone else from the team seeing it before it's done-- and, he supposes, he doesn't want Bill popping in, either.

He pulls the door open a moment later, giving Dipper a grim smile in greeting.]

Come on in. I can't guarantee privacy, but we have a better chance of it here.

[Dipper nods, adjusting his hat, and walks in through the door, immediately taking a look at his surrounding. He'd already been surprised by Bill hanging out on his money. He doesn't want to be surprised again.

Of course, this place looks NOTHING like he expected. He frowns and squints over at Angel.]

...is this a hotel?

[Why would you need a hotel in a place that has pretty much infinite rooms he does not understand.]

Just the lobby of one.

[Because that makes a lot more sense, right? He gives Dipper a brief smile, if sheepish.]

The stairs and elevator don't go anywhere. This is what my office back home used to look like.

[Before he became a corporate sell-out.]

Your office looked like a hotel. [Yep, still judging.] Why?

The office was in a hotel. Place was abandoned for decades, nobody ever wanted to buy the property after it went out of business. I had a lot of memories there.

[Good or bad, he doesn't say.]

Bought it for cheap. I'd lived there long enough back in the 20's that it felt like home. Just had to chase a fear demon out of it before we could move in.

A fear demon? [The hotel thing is still a little weird, but Dipper lets it go for now because this sounds a lot closer to what he needs to know right now.] What's a fear demon? How did you fight it?

Specifically, it was a Thesulac. Fed on people's fear and paranoia.

[He resists the urge to flinch. He's not proud of exactly why that demon got to squat in the hotel for so long, even if, at the time, he hadn't exactly been Champion material.]

We used a ritual to raise it into corporeal form. Stuck its tentacle into the fusebox.

[Yep.]

...could that spell work on other demons? [If Bill were corporeal, it might take away some of his other powers. At the very least, it would mean they could hit it.

...probably someone other than Dipper would be best to do the actual hitting part. Maybe Amethyst.]

That one was specifically for a Thesulac, but there are others.

[He frowns, his eyebrows knitting together in a particularly broody fashion as he folds his arms across his chest.]

There are all kinds of summoning rituals across dimensions. It's just a matter of finding the right book.

[Inter-dimensional research is a thing they where he's from.]

[Dipper has the right book, but that makes him look even more uncomfortable. Probably because the book says do not summon at any cost.]

Summoning him is a terrible idea. Let's not do that.

Alright, so if we're not going to look for a way to summon him into corporeal form, then what?

[It's an honest question.

Yes. He's taking his cues from a twelve-year-old.]

[Dipper appreciates it. He's gotten a lot of people coming and acting like they know better, people who even might know better, but who act like Dipper has no place being a part of this. Having someone actually ask his advice helps a lot.

He rubs his chin, thinking hard.]

We need more information. I know he's contacted one person already. We need to find out what else he's telling people. We need to learn what he wants, then we can make sure he doesn't get it.

The problem with that being that he's damn near omniscient, right?

[Angel sighs heavily, rubbing at the back of his neck.]

So whatever we do, he's watching.

Something like that. [And there's no way to tell if he's watching right now. But they need to do something. And that means making the plans anyway and hoping it's enough.

He has some ideas of ways he might be able to block the demon out after all. But he's not ready to share them yet for that very reason. He needs to have something more concrete than a maybe.]

He said he's in league with the Queen, too.

Interesting, since I don't think even the Queen knows what she wants.

[It's never been entirely clear to any of them, but it's worth thinking about if Bill claims to be working with her, true or otherwise.]

Whatever it's worth, I'll do anything I can to help. You're the expert this time around, but whatever you need, you let me know.

Really? [The scary vampire that's probably ancient is looking to Dipper as the expert? That is so cool. Dipper nods seriously.] I won't let you down.

Of course. You've dealt with him before-- that means I'd be stupid not to listen to you.

[He's learned his lessons about being bullheaded and insisting on doing things alone, for the most part.]

For now, I can see about looking up a version of the standard sanctuary spell that could at least make your room a demon-free zone.

If the standard stuff works, at least. [He glances up at Angel.] I mean, it's definitely worth a shot. I just... I feel like it would be written down somewhere if it worked.

[Then again, Dipper only has Journal 3. Journal 2 had the summoning ritual. Maybe it has a ritual to get rid of him too.]

In your dimension, maybe, but we are talking about different worlds here. It wouldn't be the first time I've seen someone or something be susceptible to something from another dimension. It's rare, but it happens.

[Which means it's worth looking into. Research is the name of the game.]

We'll keep all our options open.

And I'd be pretty okay keeping other demons out too. [He's heard enough horror stories about the ones around here that even if it doesn't work on Bill, it'll work on something.]

Pretty sure we can manage that. Wonderland has its share.

[Some of them haven't done a whole hell of a lot since getting here, but that doesn't mean Angel trusts them to play nice indefinitely.]

Sanctuary spell it is, at least to start with. I should be able to get the stuff for it. Might need help with the actual casting.
