002 ✦ Video/Action for Coffee Shop
Ok, I'll try and keep this short and sweet. There should have been a little gift outside your door in the form of chocolate with a nifty logo on it.
[A task that would have been ridiculously annoying if she hadn't had help in the form of one Percy Jackson.]
Since I've been here for like 6ish months, and it's clear I'm not going home any time soon - I figured I might as well do something semi-productive.
[No, this has absolutely nothing to do with her recent death - nope. Not at all.]
Coffee shop's open for business on the 1st floor. You can't miss it - it's right next to the training center so stop in and get your java fix sometime. Also, I guess if people want to help out, I def won't say no.
[It's not like it's a legit legit business with paperwork and things like paychecks. Makes things way less messy that way.]
One more thing before I forget - if I'm not around, I don't object to people doing their own thing as long as you don't burn it down or break everything and leave a mess in your wake. That happens and I'll find you and I will kick your butt. Don't think that I won't. Because I will.
[Or she'll call for back-up to do the butt kicking. DETAILS.]
I'll be here hanging out so stop in and say hi. We also have pie courtesy of Ned, so that's a thing. There's also non-caffeinated drinks like tea and decaf if caffeine isn't your thing.
Oh!If anybody's up for it, I'm totes looking for guinea pigs to test coffee things out on so just let me know if you're game.
[And with that that, she ends the feed and returns to setting up various colored coffee mugs behind the bar.]

action;
It's easy to get bored in this place. For all the events they get, they also get a lot of downtime in-between, and this can easily be seen as a way for her to keep herself busy, to have something to do. But Bruce knows better.
Still, it's a good thing. Each person copes their own way, and as far as he's concerned this is actually a very healthy way to deal with all she's been through, all things considered.
It's just next door, so once he sees the whole announcement he pockets his phone and makes his way over, still in his sweatpants, t-shirt and a pair of sneakers. He pokes his head inside first, then spotting her behind the counter, her back turned to him, he makes his way over. ]
Any chance you serve orange juice?
no subject
Darcy gives him a smile, though, keeping that all pushed aside for right now.]
I might be able to scrounge some up for you. How big of a glass would you like?
no subject
Like... this? [ He peeks into the counter and points at one of the plastic cups stacked on a little tower. ] Assuming I can get a refill if I want it.
no subject
[She gives a small laugh as she fills up the glass as well as grabbing a small glass carafe to put some extra orange juice in just in case he wanted it.]
Did you want any pie?
no subject
[ But he's grinning, accepting the glass and the small jar once she hands them to him. ]
I wouldn't mind. What pies do you have right now?
no subject
We've got some of Ned's pies right now. The dutch apple is to die for, although there's legit not a bad pie among them. And it's all pretty fantastic with ice cream. The apple-cranberry might go pretty well with orange juice.
no subject
[ He takes a small sip from his juice, then slides up into one of the bar stools waiting for that pie. All the while he looks around the room, noting all the little details she had added to the place. ]
This looks really nice, Darcy.
no subject
[She grabs a slice of the pie, giving him a small smile as she reaches for a fork. Depositing the plate in front of him, she hops up on to the empty counter behind the bar so she was across from Bruce.]
I like it. It'll be a nice project to focus on. I want to put together a recipe book for the drinks and some sort of steady rotation on food and things - like muffins, cookies, pie. Maybe pound cake.
[Something to keep her indoors - away from the beach. Something to keep her busy.]
no subject
Mmhm... [ A pleased hum, he closes his eyes for a moment to enjoy the flavor, then he washes it down with a sip of juice. ]
If it all tastes as great as this pie, I can't imagine you could ever go wrong with anything.
no subject
[Maybe even attempt to see what she can get from the closet, set up a more permanent thing with Ned for pies to take some of it off her shoulders.]
I still need to make those marshmallow cupcakes. Maybe that'll be my next big thing after a few test runs.
no subject
[ In this place it was easy sometimes, to forget little things like that. But at the same time, little things could also mean a whole lot on occasion, like after bouncing back from particularly nasty events. ]
You know, with winter coming those'd go pretty well with some hot chocolate.
no subject
[Assuming they actually worked because there was a very very real chance it could all fail horribly. Although that was part of the fun and distraction - making a few batches and seeing if it works.]
They really would, although I don't know about making a gajillion of them for the coffee shop. Maybe if we all do something for Thanksgiving I'll make them. Maybe even like two dozen pumpkin cupcakes with some others for people who aren't a fan.
no subject
[ Bruce will attest that it is indeed quite fun to see marshmallows go up in flames. And if that does happen it's okay, they can call it a scientific experiment. ]
Oh yeah, Thanksgiving. [ He arches his eyebrows with a small nod. Holidays kinda slipped right past him these last few years. ] The others will probably want to do something for that.
no subject
[Fall things.]
I've never been much of a holiday person, but it might be nice. Something sorta familiar - normal. I'm not gonna volunteer to handle the turkey, though if that's the route people wanna go.
no subject
[ But he's smiling, amusement in his voice too, then he nods at her. ]
Sure, I'd like to. And I'm not a holiday person at all either. Not... anymore. [ He trails off briefly with a shrug. ] But I don't mind them. Actually the turkey thing sounds nice, and Steve's probably going to want to do that.
no subject
I'll sign you up as a taste tester. Maybe even make the suggestion for pizzas instead of turkey for t-day. Less work and way more fun. Everyone can make their own and there's no awkward giant turkey to feed everyone.
[Especially with Thor here now, with how many people have ridiculous metabolisms they'd probably need two turkeys. Maybe three.]
no subject
Good luck getting that to pass with the group. Don't forget you have the Captain America with us, I doubt he'll be alright with anything less than turkey for thanksgiving.
[ Even if that meant cooking several turkeys. Then again, they could just pull some already cooked from the closets, all ready to serve. ]
no subject
[A thing she's not used to. It was usually a miracle if Jane even stopped enough for a holiday and she'd never been much of a fan of the big to-do with it all.]
You know what? Let them figure it out. I'll worry about desserts.
[Unless they didn't get moving on it. It'd be hard for her to not stick her nose in organizing it.]
Although I'm not making pumpkin pie.
no subject
[ It's not like he's that great a cook either, though he remembered enjoying a few Thanksgiving celebrations before, years ago. Even then, he'd never really gotten himself involved in the actual cooking, and as far as preparations go, he'll gladly stick to setting the table.
He keeps eating the pie while they chat, taking a sip of his juice before he speaks up in response. ]
No? Why's that, just... don't like it?
no subject
[There's a little shiver at that, clearly not a fan.]
There's just something about that texture. I don't know. It's gross. Kinda like cheesy broccoli from a can.
[In case he wasn't picking up on it, there'd been a lot of canned things with Jane. She'd become somewhat of an expert.]
no subject
I haven't. But you could always make the actual filling, I think... it wouldn't be too difficult.
[ But then again, what would he know about baking? He probably wouldn't even manage the dough for the pie. ]
But fair enough. There's a lot of other desserts and sweets we can go for, other than pumpkin pie. [ And if anyone's really that set on having one of those, they can just have the dining room sprout one for them. ]
no subject
Truth. Besides, apple pie's way more fun. Or something a little different, like pear and brown sugar.
[She's gotta have her break from tradition in there somewhere.]
Or I could just get like 50 of Ned's pies and save a lot of work on my end since his stuff's amazing.
[Ok- maybe not 50 but close.]
no subject
[ Especially for something like Thanksgiving, it'd fit right in and it's probably something everyone would enjoy. It's simple, tasty, easy - and like she said, fun.
He laughs a little at her second suggestion, though, shaking his head a little. ]
Poor guy. Think it might be a bit much to ask him to bake them all. We don't really have anything to pay him with for all that work.
no subject
[She gives a casual shrug.]
But, I guess it wouldn't be quite the same if everything else was made by the group and the pies weren't. I might even give the whole pumpkin pie from scratch thing a whirl.
[And if it turned out to be a total disaster, at least there'd be pumpkin seeds. Bonus.]
no subject
You can always get some of us to help you, with the pies. Makes for quicker work.
[ Though he thinks none of them are as interested in baking as Darcy is, but they're not entirely incapable. They'd manage a little better together. ]
