002 ✦ Video/Action for Coffee Shop

Ok, I'll try and keep this short and sweet. There should have been a little gift outside your door in the form of chocolate with a nifty logo on it.

[A task that would have been ridiculously annoying if she hadn't had help in the form of one Percy Jackson.]

Since I've been here for like 6ish months, and it's clear I'm not going home any time soon - I figured I might as well do something semi-productive.

[No, this has absolutely nothing to do with her recent death - nope. Not at all.]

Coffee shop's open for business on the 1st floor. You can't miss it - it's right next to the training center so stop in and get your java fix sometime. Also, I guess if people want to help out, I def won't say no.

[It's not like it's a legit legit business with paperwork and things like paychecks. Makes things way less messy that way.]

One more thing before I forget - if I'm not around, I don't object to people doing their own thing as long as you don't burn it down or break everything and leave a mess in your wake. That happens and I'll find you and I will kick your butt. Don't think that I won't. Because I will.

[Or she'll call for back-up to do the butt kicking. DETAILS.]

I'll be here hanging out so stop in and say hi. We also have pie courtesy of Ned, so that's a thing. There's also non-caffeinated drinks like tea and decaf if caffeine isn't your thing.

Oh!If anybody's up for it, I'm totes looking for guinea pigs to test coffee things out on so just let me know if you're game.

[ he has some personal drama going on that he needs a little time away from still to think about. both Hazel and Frank have told him that he needs to choose who he has feelings for, but he can't. so he's avoiding the whole thing by helping another friend out with delivering chocolate and taking up her offer for free coffee. he didn't actually set her espresso machine on fire while her back was turned but that would have been pretty funny. ]

[She spins around so fast, her hair hits her in the face. There's a breath of relief when she realizes he's not serious, grabbing a nearby towel to snap at him.]

I'm pretty sure you just took a year off of my life.

[Distractions were good. She liked distractions, especially after the message she found in her mirror earlier today - yes to all the distractions.]

Sort of - except there's the added bonus of not having to pay an arm and a leg for a tiny cup of coffee. Also unlimited refills are a very real thing.

[Peter's been avoiding the holy hell out of Darcy since that whole moon thing. The thing is, though, he'd feel like an even bigger asshole if he didn't bother showing up for her grand business opening after blowing her off, so he slinks in a couple of hours after the announcement to get a look around.

He's got to admit, it's pretty bitchin'. The decorating scheme reminds him of a few family reunions, all in all it's pretty cozy.

And hey, he does love coffee. Even if it is hipster coffee.

He wanders for a little bit to get a feel for the place (also known as stalling) before he makes his way toward the main counter, hands shoved into the pocket of his leather jacket.]

I hope you accept monopoly money and favors as payment.

[It's a mild joke, with just enough reserve in the words to make it clear he knows shit's going to be weird.]

[With everything that's happened over the last month, seeing Peter is actually not the most awkward thing in the world. At least he hadn't killed her or tried to drag her off to a small room to be held prisoner.

Worse things than watching your friend turn into a wolf. Although that hadn't been great.

Maybe one day she'll have a nice quiet life with no weird shit popping up every five minutes to throw a wrench in it. With a white picket fence and a dog.

Giving him a smile, she nods and accepts the awkward.]

Absolutely. Although not the ones in monopoly money. Those always seem useless - like pennies. Pasta's also a pretty good payment.

Yes, no smashing or making messes. It's nice and shiny and new - I would like to keep it that way as long as possible.

[Well was relative - distractions help a lot and it seemed like the coffee shop was serving as one for more than just her.

It didn't matter, though - not right now because right now was about coffee.]

I don't really have any set hours. It's not like it's for profit so it doesn't really count as stealing if someone goes in when I'm not there and throws together a cup of the good stuff. At least in my opinion.

[Although she'll be in there pretty much all the time when she's not sleeping because coffee goodness.]

I'm also more than happy to show people how to run the machines in case I'm not around.

[ This week seems rife with opportunities to make amends to the people Will's wronged, in various manners. Though it was not Will, specifically, that did the wronging against Darcy, it's up to him to do what healing Wonderland hasn't already done, that for its aptitude in healing the body the psyche remains... unwell.

But in her message Darcy looks well, however much Will shouldn't trust the front. He's already on the first floor; may as well come around for the caffeine fix, stay for the bridge rebuilding.

Inside, Will allows himself to be distracted by the lights, touching one of the tapered points at the bottom while the bustle behind the counter is momentarily forgotten. ]

[Seeing Will wouldn't have been quite so rough if his mirror hadn't left her a lovely note earlier in the afternoon.

She can't avoid him, though - it wouldn't be healthy. Taking a breath, she reminds herself it hadn't been him. Just like with Bucky and Natasha.

We've got some of Ned's holiday pies. Although the joy of the closets is if there isn't a pie you like, we can probably grab it.

[She gives a smile.]

I'm Darcy by the way, I don't think we've met.

[To most people, Darcy's decision to start up a coffee shop must seem like nothing more than another captive of Wonderland getting bored and looking for a way to kill time. Which it is, to some extent, but Steve's one of the few who realizes there's more to it than that.

She's got more to get off of her mind than just boredom.

It's good, though, for her to have a project, something that is entirely hers to focus on, and so Steve definitely approves. He wants to get a look at it for himself, and it's not at all difficult to swing by after a workout in their training room.

Steve's washed off, but he's still in his tanktop with a towel around his shoulders when he walks in and takes a look around. It's a pretty sizable place, nicely decorated, cozy in a way that most Starbucks aren't.

He approaches Darcy at the counter and offers a crooked smile.] I hope you serve more than just those five dollar mixed drinks. [What can he say? He likes his coffee black.]

[She returns the smile with a small laugh, twisting the corner of the towel in her hand.]

For you? Certainly.

[He was one of the few that knew the full story - one of the reasons why she'd opted for the coffee shop. Although her reasons for pushing up the opening were still hers and hers alone. For now. One day she'd get better at opening up, but right now the message that had been on her mirror wasn't on her mind - totally focusing on the coffee shop and moving forward.]

[A different person might be more competitive and less welcoming, but never Tohru. When she replies she's smiling bright and holding her gift.]

My name is Tohru Honda, and I work in the diner upstairs. Um, I just wanted to say it's really nice to meet you and...maybe it's strange to say it after six months but...welcome! It will be really nice to have a coffee shop here. I'll have to visit sometime!

[It only seems right to greet the newest "business" in Wonderland, the way she might if she actually had a diner at home and a new coffee shop opened next door.]

It's nice to meet you Tohru and thanks. For as small as this place seems sometimes, I still seem to meet new people - don't worry about it. Vice versa on that too - I haven't had a chance to make it to the diner yet but I definitely need to stop by now.

If you ever want to put anything up for the diner, feel free to drop it off. Also, if you ever want any coffee or anything and don't have time to run down just let me know and I'll bring something up!

[ It so happens that Bruce is at the training center nearby when he sees her announcement, while taking a break from practicing, this time on his own. It immediately brings a smile to his lips, though he knows there's more reasons than the ones that meet the eye for her to have set something like this up.

It's easy to get bored in this place. For all the events they get, they also get a lot of downtime in-between, and this can easily be seen as a way for her to keep herself busy, to have something to do. But Bruce knows better.

Still, it's a good thing. Each person copes their own way, and as far as he's concerned this is actually a very healthy way to deal with all she's been through, all things considered.

It's just next door, so once he sees the whole announcement he pockets his phone and makes his way over, still in his sweatpants, t-shirt and a pair of sneakers. He pokes his head inside first, then spotting her behind the counter, her back turned to him, he makes his way over. ]

Any chance you serve orange juice?

[She hadn't planned on opening it up quite so quickly, but with the love note on her mirror earlier this afternoon - it kicked things into gear and gave her another chance to get out of her room.

Darcy gives him a smile, though, keeping that all pushed aside for right now.]

I might be able to scrounge some up for you. How big of a glass would you like?

[ Robin had gone home right after the event with the mirrors, and he knows how bad that particular event was for many people, he just doesn't know how each of his friends happened to be affected by it. And he's been a bit quieter since returning, working on slowly catching up with everyone and making sure they're alright. Seeing Darcy is a relief, and since the coffee and pie sound quite good right about now, he simply makes his way to her shop, smiling when he finds her. ]

Darcy. It's good to see you, I hope you've been alright?

[There's that question. She pauses, trying to formulate a response before actually putting the thoughts to words.]

It's been anything but boring.

As she'd been next door, it seems easier to wander over and see the new place for herself. Natasha had known that Darcy had been up to something in the rooms next door although she'd left the girl to her own devices for the most part, since the keeping busy seemed to help her mood and stepping in now, she lets her impressed expression show her thoughts on the matter.

"I wondered what you were doing over here. my, you have been busy, haven't you? It looks great, Darcy. I'm impressed."

It actually reminds her of the place she'd taken the girl's Mirror when she'd found her here and found that an odd little coincidence.

It was something to focus on and a good reason to leave her room other than her slowly working on being able to move around outside on her own. Although she hadn't tried the beach yet and probably wouldn't for a long long time. It was also a chance to get away from Will's mirror and his apparent semi-stalking from the other side, the coffee shop blissfully mirror free for the most part. Any that the mansion added to her original plan covered with draped fabric.

The compliment earns a smile as she looks around, taking it all in.

"Thanks. Can I get you something? I've been testing out some new combos for the whole fall thing."

[ Simon flicks open a feed with a friendly grin, because it's been a while since he's gotten to catch up with her. ]

I've been a busy little bee. And yes, I'll definitely be drawing in the foam. Although it's a lot easier said than done but I think with enough practice, it should eventually start looking like what I intend for.
