Ok, I'll try and keep this short and sweet. There should have been a little gift outside your door in the form of chocolate with a nifty logo on it.

[A task that would have been ridiculously annoying if she hadn't had help in the form of one Percy Jackson.]

Since I've been here for like 6ish months, and it's clear I'm not going home any time soon - I figured I might as well do something semi-productive.

[No, this has absolutely nothing to do with her recent death - nope. Not at all.]

Coffee shop's open for business on the 1st floor. You can't miss it - it's right next to the training center so stop in and get your java fix sometime. Also, I guess if people want to help out, I def won't say no.

[It's not like it's a legit legit business with paperwork and things like paychecks. Makes things way less messy that way.]

One more thing before I forget - if I'm not around, I don't object to people doing their own thing as long as you don't burn it down or break everything and leave a mess in your wake. That happens and I'll find you and I will kick your butt. Don't think that I won't. Because I will.

[Or she'll call for back-up to do the butt kicking. DETAILS.]

I'll be here hanging out so stop in and say hi. We also have pie courtesy of Ned, so that's a thing. There's also non-caffeinated drinks like tea and decaf if caffeine isn't your thing.

Oh!If anybody's up for it, I'm totes looking for guinea pigs to test coffee things out on so just let me know if you're game.

Oh, it's that kind of internship. I did some unpaid work in my university's library my first term for a work-study credit.

What were you studying?

[Logic would dictate that an intern for an astrophysicist would have studied it... But logic tended to go out the window back home.]

Political Science. I needed the credits and then I just kinda stuck around - things got complicated what with people falling from the sky and all that.

[Asgardians had a tendency to complicate things.]

Do you mean that literally?

Yeah. You might have seen him around, his name is Thor - he just got here. He's Asgardian - huge fan of pancakes and coffee. He fell outta the sky and then Jane sorta hit him with the car.

If he's a Norse god, it couldn't have hurt him too badly, right?

Well... He'd kinda sorta pissed his dad off and as a punishment got turned into a human - although he was still pretty indestructible.

[Even after getting hit with a car and then getting tased and then getting hit with a car again. Details.]

He's back to full strength now which helps.

That sounds pretty complicated.

[Kaneki understands complicated. Been there, done that. Still doing it. Indefinitely. Ugh.]

[Complicated was one word for it. Hot mess was more accurate, though.]

It definitely opened up my mind a bit to other things like the whole there being 8 other realms not counting the other universes and galaxies.

[She's still wrapping her head around the parallel and alternate universes here. It's more than a little overwhelming.]

Did knowing about stuff like that to start with make it easier to come to a place like this?

[Kaneki's still working on that. Having read a lot of books has helped, but he mostly doesn't think about it much.]

Hm... Yes and no. It -

[This was a tough one to get into.]

For me, the hardest thing to deal with is the curses. The whole dying and coming back thing. The kind of stuff that doesn't happen back home.

[The mirrors.]

I still don't know what to think about that. Dying still seems pretty terrifying.

[OH GOD THE MIRRORS.]

All the strange things that happen with the residents here are pretty bizarre, too. And the other side of the glass...

It's not fun.

[Says the girl who died not that long ago at the hands of a mirror. It's hard to not hide the flinch when he brings up the other side of the glass, the message on her bathroom mirror from her killer still fresh in her mind.]

As long as they don't cross over again it should be ok.

[She's not gonna touch on the other things here and how much the events suck massive butt.]

I hope so. Mine made...just so much trouble.

[Uuuuuugh.]

It seems like they don't come over too often, at least. I think I can handle the other events if that stays true.

Yeah, I - I died. So fingers and toes crossed they don't come back over ever again.

[Granted they'd be a lot more prepared, sure Steve and the others would have a plan. It didn't stop the messages, however. All she could do was wait that one out - hope the mirror would lose interest eventually.]

O-oh. I'm sorry.

[He feels a pang of guilt at the relief he feels that it wasn't his Mirror who was responsible--if he had, her reaction to him would have been very different.]

I'm sure you have friends here that you can rely on [He's assuming, anyway, since most people do seem to.] but if you ever need help in a bad situation, please know that I'll do what I can to help you.

[He can't exactly teleport to help her out, but if she's able to get to him or contact him, he'll defend her with his life. He barely knows her, but lives are worth a lot to him.]

You don't need to apologize, believe me. I'll be ok.

[It was something the others from home were helping believe. She manages a small smile and a nod at the friends comment.]

There's a ridiculous amount of people from home here and they're all pretty fantastic in their own rights. But I'm always up for making new friends. I'll keep that in mind if anything ever happens again, and just know even if I can't help you in the future some time if you need it - I know a lot of people who are more than capable of kicking ass and taking names.

It never hurts to know who I can hide behind when I'm in trouble.

Yeah, they're a pretty solid group to hide behind when things get rough. I think we're all on the 7th floor somewhere in the 20s.

[AKA a very safe place to camp out if the sky starts falling.]
