[Damon is not happy, and definitely not drunk enough for this. At first, he assumed he'd been hallucinating, on some trip after drinking bad blood. However, he has been roaming Wonderland for hours on this bright and early morning, while everyone else was likely asleep. He’s poked his head in where it doesn’t belong, waiting for the hallucination to fade. Spoilers: it doesn’t. He finally studies the communication device, accepting that this is either one very long dream or he’s actually here. Somehow. He’s on the main floor, pressed up against the marble pillar, staring up at the ceiling. It takes minimal effort to skim through previous entries before he switches to video.]

Question #1, for the masses: How drunk do you have to be for this place to start making sense? Because I’m starting to think this poor, lonely bottle's not gonna cut it. [Damon looks to the bottle in his hand with a little sigh, tapping his fingers on its surface.] Looks like we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto.

[He takes a long drink, swallows, and sends the camera a slow but absolutely charming smirk:]

Question #2: what’s the one thing you wish someone had told you on your first day in the merry old Land of Wonder, but failed to?

[Damon points a finger at the camera with the hand that's still partly wound around the bottle] And go. Best answers get a pony.

[Just sayin. Damon... stares, because he hadn't really expected such a candid answer. Vampires though. Also, half-angel hunters, which means there must be angels. Vampires, he's familiar with (obviously), but... half angels????]

...yeah, that's weird. Surprised you don't drink more often with that kind of weird in your life. Half-angel hunters?? Aren't angels good and halo-y?

[like sure, there's plenty myths and stories get wrong about vampires, but... not the basics (they need to drink blood, blood is delicious to them, they're monsters, etc).]

I haven't exactly met one, but I don't see what there is about hunting demons that isn't considered good. They're pretty nasty.

[Give him a second.]

Oh. They hunt demons. [Now he gets it. Vampire hunters are a thing so when he heard half-angel hunters, he figured, but he gets it now.] So if you come from a line of them, does that make you a half angel too? Is God real in your world?

Yeah, I guess so? It's...complicated.

[She shrugs.]

I haven't talked to him or anything, if that's what you mean. Angels aren't exactly hanging around, either. There's this cup that was blessed by one or something, and if you drink out of it and survive, it creates more of us.

[A beat.]

I'm kind of new to the whole thing, honestly. Can you tell?

It's glaringly obvious. Yeah.

[Damon smirks at her as he meets her gaze, taking a deeper drink from the glass in front of him. He has had enough now that he can feel it, and he's grateful for it. He likes that delicious numbness that it brings along where he doesn't care as much about sense.]

But even when you're old to the whole thing, weird shit can still surprise you.

To be fair, that's what happens when you get your memories stolen and your mom keeps it hidden from you your entire life.

[She sighs, though as least her grin returns a bit when she catches him smirking at her.]

Yeah, well, I thought I hit my weird quota, but apparently not. [She tilts her head at him.] What about you? Are you old to 'the whole thing' then?

Mm, parental issues. They're a killer.

[Damon says it offhandedly, but he has experience there which he won't dive into for anyone ever. He is smirking at her though.]

There's no such thing as a weird quota. That's where you're making a mistake already. [The smirk widens then] Yes, I am very old to it, and that's about all you're getting out of me right now, missy.

She was trying to protect me, but that didn't do much good in the end.

[She's still a little bitter about it, didn't have time to talk to her mom about it before she got dragged here, and that comes across in her tone and her expression.]

Yeah, I'm gathering that. [She smirks back at him.] For now.

They rarely do. It always blows up in everyone's faces and then drama, heartache, fights...

[that is if the other individual is alive long enough to go through all that but more details about the Weird stuff that gets learned after having lived it for a long time. damon's smirk widens as he folds his arms across his chest, lifting an eyebrow at her.]

Confident, aren't you?

[At least her mother finally came out of her self-induced magical coma. They'll at least get to talk about it...whenever she can get her butt home.]

Well, there's only so many things you can be if you're throwing out the really old card.

[Damon tilts his head to the side with a thoughtful smirk on his face as he rests an arm behind his head]

In that case, enlighten me about one of the things I could be.

Let's see, the oldest person I know is a warlock, and he still looks like he's in his upper 20's. There's also the Vampires and the Seelie. All three are immortal, so you could be one of those, though you definitely don't strike me as being the last one. They have the point ears going on. Or at least the one I met did.

[Damon makes a face without revealing what he is because what is opening up nd speaking about things? pfft.] What the hell's a seelie?

[like yes, he'll just change the subject here. coughs.]

They're apparently half-demon, half-angel...but honestly they just seem like Faeries. Really in tune with nature, pointed ears, can't lie, the whole nine yards.

...sounds weird even for someone who is used to weird. How is it that they couldn't lie? I mean, imagine how much that would suck. [people have secrets for a reason after all]

[She makes a face as she tries to reword that.]

It's less that they can't lie and more that they have to tell the truth, I think. Which sounds the same but not exactly. They've gotten good at using it to their advantage.

That's one thing that stays the same. Regardless of species, they learn how to use what they can and can't do to their advantage. The smart ones do anyway.

Survival. [At its very basics. Survival, power.]

It would be a little easier if everyone could just learn to work together from time to time.
