[ audio, ota ]

[ Claire came back on Sunday. Today is Wednesday. She's spent some time trying to decide how she wants to go forward. She's spent some time mulling things over, going over what happened detail by detail up to the last thing she can remember.

She'd heard it. A soft metal 'clink' before the blow to the back of her head.

The thing is, this isn't the first time someone's tried to murder her. Considering she's landed in America just before the Revolutionary War and who she's married to, it likely won't be the last. She's gotten to the point of wishing she was dead, even, because the agony was too much.

But she's never actually died.

So, she needed time. And in that time after waking up and reassuring those that were actually there with her, she has been alone in her room. Thinking, trying to puzzle it all out, hearing accounts of what others know. She doesn't love that a panicked message was sent alerting the entire mansion to her death, so she feels, in a sense, that she needs to address it. ]

Hello, everyone. I don't plan on taking up too much of your time. This is Claire Fraser and as was delivered to your devices a few days ago, I did - [ She halts, saying the words out loud for the first time. ] - die. In true Wonderland fashion I have also returned. I will not be in the clinic for the remainder of the week, and I'm sure both Liv and Mikan will have no problem aiding you medically if you require assistance.

I'm all right.

[ And she knows there could be questions, so she leaves herself open to the idea of rehashing things for the sake of getting to the bottom of what happened. ]

I would like to note that as of now, the entire...event, for lack of a better word, is one I keep turning over in my head, trying to make sense of it. There are no concrete answers, so if you've heard something blaming anyone, know that there is nothing to back it up as of now.

Thank you.

one; text {come to my house & we'll pick the bones}

it's a real bad day to be the white rabbit, ain't it?
or from the looks of things. . a bad last few years.
aside from shoddy pamphlets, what other useful bits of information float around these parts?
I don't have the patience for this shit, and I've got a lot of spare C4.

( one; voice )

[Emma has read what information has been made available, she’s walked the grounds and the corridors of some of the mansion’s ground floor, and she’s combed through what public postings she could find to look through on the device she’d found in the pocket opposite of where she kept her own phone. She’s been digging for evidence since she got here, but what she’s found?

She’s not buying it. The message that comes through is voice only, not wanting to reveal her face or her exact location right away-- though she’s pretty damn sure that whoever’s responsible for this is watching her and has a good idea of where she is, if not who.]

Look. I know someone is out there listening.

[She doesn’t know exactly who, but someone.]

This game of yours? I’m not interested. I don’t know how you got me here, or how you set all this up. Maybe it’s some messed-up alternate reality game, but I didn’t opt in for any of this. I don’t care how elaborate it is, or how much work went into it-- my kid is at home waiting for me, and I am not screwing around.

[Her tone is hard, angry rather than anxious, determination winning out over uncertainty.]

‘Wonderland.’ Cute, but I’m not impressed. All I want is for you to point me towards the exit. You can do me a solid and we can do this the easy way-- or we can do it the hard way. Trust me, whatever weird stuff you might be into, I can promise you won’t be happy if we go that route.

[She stays on the line, just to wait for any kind of possible response-- but she doesn’t really know what to expect. This entire thing has her out of her depth, even if she’s not willing to admit it.]

[ there's some noise behind tony today, hammers and drills working in the background. let your eyes adjust to the image and you might see robots putting pieces into other, newer robots and they all seem to be wearing...santa hats. he seems on the verge of saying something when two others fly through the window. ]

do you mind giving us a moment?

[ at once, they all seem to stand still. he shakes his head. honestly. ]

These are what I call the Iron Legion. There are only ten of them. You might see them flying over the grounds. I send them to examine the terrain. The point is creating a virtual map and making sure it's all quiet out there. They also have some protocols for times of emergency. They can help people find ways of the mansion in case we'll ever need to evacuate.

[ he looks behind him ]

except you, I might just take you apart.

[ it's spoken to the robots; well, to one of them who keeps rustling in the background. ]

they're not armed, they're not here to hurt you, they aren't going to try and interact with you unless you need help. Please don't try to interact with them or shoot them out of the sky, it's kind of important they'll stay in one piece. Look, they're even themed for the holidays.

[ aren't the hats cute? guys? ]
scathefires: (so now i follow it)

[Jason woke up inside the mansion, gave it all a cursory look-through, and promptly noped the hell on out of there. Ain’t nobody got time for this Wonderland theme park bullshit - especially not the Red Hood.

Of the available options, the forest seemed like the best way out, so that’s where Jason is now, trampling through the brush, snapping twigs underfoot as he mutters his complaints into the comm device:]

This would be going a lot easier if there had been any vehicles worth taking …

[The sounds of movement stop, and Jason sighs loudly. He is Officially Lost, and he wasn’t in the best mood to begin with, so he’s understandably a little tense in addressing whoever might be listening.]

All right, this is officially stupid, and I don’t have time for stupid. Got much bigger fish to fry, so I’ll get right to the point. Whose head do I have to stuff in a duffel bag to get a map of the way out of here? Tick tock, losers, answer fast – Daddy doesn’t like being kept waiting.

( video ) » take me to wonderland

[The feed opens to an almost bored looking Wanda. She's using her telekinesis to float the device a few feet away from her, so it's not too much of a close up.

She's not here to talk about the most recent event, though.]

Huh. I've been here a year.

[As of yesterday.]

Time to go mark this occasion by putting a trampoline on the ground and doing awesome flips off the roof and bouncing up high.

[Is she joking? PROBABLY. But it's hard to tell if she is or not. (But also, she can use her telekinesis to fly, so even if she weren't joking, it wouldn't be as dangerous for her as it sounds.)]

What did everyone else do for their year anniversary if they've had one here yet? If not, what would you do?

[That's it, that's the post.]

Entry #006 [Video/Action]

[The video feed shows a Turing who is this close to losing their shit.]

Okay, I have a new idea for a fun weekend event: let's have nothing bad happen to all of us for once.

No shadows. No reliving our most horrible memories. No having to fight off monsters and shape shifters. Just. Something. Good. PLEASE, Wonderland.

...I'll be in the tearoom, watching some Bob Ross. Feel free to join me if you want to watch or paint along. I won't be painting, I'm just watching to decompress.

Nobody say 'Hassy' to me. Thank you.

---

[And sure enough, just inside the tearoom, Turing is lying down, 'The Joy of Painting' playing in front of their system. If anyone else is interested in watching, they are more than happy to move so that you can watch as well.]

ok but I'm assuming there's a welcoming committee? I'd just like to say that I haven't been introduced to the welcoming committee and also, I'm assuming there's a brochure somewhere, something along the lines of 'welcome to wonderland here are 101 ways to get high'?

didn't get that either.

so that said, i'm going to compile a list of every question you must have heard a thousand times before.

✘ this pocket universe is inspired by carrol's wonderland. duh. any signs of a portal? anything?

✘ are the mirrors creepy in a 1984 way or in a creepy-girls-WILL-climb-out-at-night way? super important.

✘ where are the EAT ME and DRINK ME stuff? because I had cookies three hours ago and I'm reporting no change in size. Where do I file a complaint?

✘ how many people's heads have been offed? is that a thing?

✘ is there really a high caterpillar? because meeting the guy's on my bucket list.

✘ HAVE all of the mansion's horses and all of its men tried to put Humpty together again?

also fyi if you see a guy in a flying suit of armor that's just me. don't shoot, it never ends well and also it gives me a serious electromagnetic headache.

video | open to action if you want to find him

[Even before everything that's happened these past few months, Rip hadn't been one to openly broadcast over the network. Each time save the last has been out of simple necessity. And in a way, he supposes this time is too.

They had friends here, each of them. They had made their impact.

He's in his room when the feed starts. Maybe some would recognize it after that ridiculous karaoke party Leonard and Mick decided to host there following the whole Chronos affair.]

For those that were acquainted with them, it would seem that Sara Lance, Mick Rory, and Leonard Snart have been sent back to their world.

[Two to live (in spite of Rip's best efforts, in Sara's case). One to die.

Perhaps he should say more. The feed continues on, Rip's eyes looking down rather than at the camera. In the end, however, a minute or two goes on in silence before he simply reaches for the device to turn it off.]

Gonna head t' the caves t'day, so-- [He pauses, and there's a small 'clunk' off-screen as he tosses something into a bag by his feet.] So, if y've ever wanted t' check it out but didn't wanna go alone, here's a chance.

[There's a bark and the camera swivels to put a dog in view. Said dog wags its tail and sniffs at a rucksack with interest.]

He's comin' too. Jus' gimme a heads up, 'll be at the entrance in a half hour.

---

action;

[If anyone wants to meet him there, he'll be there a good ten minutes checking through his pack and making sure he has everything he needs - just in case.

After that, he'll be in the caves themselves, exploring the passages and leaving small marks on the walls as he goes. At least once, he finds his way to a large, open cavern, and whistles softly to himself before quietly smiling as if recalling a distant memory. The hour following will be spent free-climbing the walls, leaving the dog on the cavern floor with his bag, with exploration resuming after he decides that his hands have had enough.

All in all, he's down there for several hours.

[The woman who appears on the feed might be familiar to a few people. She's sitting at a table or a desk and facing the camera, composed, but a little worse for wear. She looks tired.]

You sure know how to make a girl feel at home. [Not that she's faced frost giants or dark elves before, but dropped into the middle of a fight she wasn't expecting and wasn't prepared for? One that probably should be left to gods and super soldiers? That is familiar. The last two days haven't been boring] Is that normal?

[Natasha taps the table in front of her twice, drawing a slow breath as she considers how she's going to play this. If putting her face on the network is a mistake, then she's already made it.]

I think I'm ready for the welcoming committee now.

#01 ▸ ( video )

[A young man sits before the camera, looking, to say the least, in pretty bad shape. Although only appearing to be somewhere in his early twenties, his eyes seem sunken and teeming with an exhaustion beyond his years, and his complexion is pallid.

He’s seated with bent knees, arms crossed atop them. His chin rests in his left hand, on which he's wearing a pair of nondescript black gloves with the fingers sloppily cut off. His right hand is holding the camera at a slightly odd angle, as it's been awhile since he's used a mobile device of any kind.

Making eye contact with the camera, he attempts a smile, which comes off looking unsure and diffident.]

Am I...

[A pause. While he's no stranger to speaking in front of a camera, addressing a group of strangers on a more personal level is a whole different concept entirely, and he's only just now aware that he has absolutely no idea what to say.]

Is this place... In my head? It feels real but I--

[Again he cannot finish the thought, as he's still overwhelmed with guilt due to the way things were left at home before he was brought here.]

...I'm sorry. [He looks down as he mumbles the words, ending the recording immediately afterwards.

When all else fails, apologize, although it's not like this method of communication has done him any favors in the past.]

[There's a face very, very, very close to the screen. Not a shock, given he's basically sitting on the device with wide eyes and a mouth hanging open a little in awe. It makes strange noises sometimes and he's not sure what it is but he will work it out. He's smarter than he looks, he'll have you know. He's a smart cookie. The smartest of cookies even because cookies are remarkably dumb. They don't even put up a fight when he eats them so they're clearly inferior to the all mighty Groot.

He leans forward slowly. He licks it. Ew. Nope. Not food. Hmm.

Okay, back to square one.

It's not doing much but be kind of reflective, it's probably not a weapon and--

Oh! He can see his face!!!

He pulls funny faces into it happily, delighted with how he can see himself and somehow not paying attention to anything else in the screen but himself.]

010 ☆ video/action

[ It's been a long, long while since Steve transmitted a message through the network, and that's been no accident. His last announcement was when he came back from his last trip home, over a year ago. It hadn't felt right to take the lead in the same way after that, and others had jumped in to take his place as needed. Hadn't they? He'd thought as much, but others have told him that he's still needed as a leader. Maybe not as Cap, but as Steve.

It's a work in progress.

But here he is all the same, sending out his message toward the end of the second day. He's indoors; the room he's in not well-lit but his face is still visible. It's quiet out, the calm before the storm. ]

Michonne and I took a trip past the gates today, and... there's something coming. Or, well, a lot of somethings. A whole horde of zombies headed right for us. She's already given you guys the rundown, but I wanted to get the word out. We're gonna have to fight, or barricade ourselves away from danger. [ His expression hardens then, something steely and determined. ] Whatever you can do to keep yourself and your loved ones safe, do it.

[ A pause as he gathers his thoughts, and then he's back to it. ] I know death isn't permanent here, but this isn't a way that anyone wants to go. [ Is he speaking from experience?? Who knows, he doesn't elaborate. ] And I'll do whatever I can to help. In case you didn't know, I've got super strength, super speed, and I can take a hit. I'm not even sure if this infection will affect me because of the way my metabolism is. So if you need help getting out a scrape, let me know, all right? Or even if you just need help barricading a house. [ He's perfect for all that heavy lifting. ] I'm here to do whatever I can.

[ It's never enough, but he's still going to try. If he's learned anything this past year, it's that. ]

Oh, it's Steve, by the way. Steve Rogers. Stay safe, everyone.

[ With a firm nod, he ends the broadcast. For someone who's rusty on the speeches, it could have been worse, right? ]

video; top levels for the event

[ She knew as soon as the cryptic message went up what this was going to be. And it's really something to finally be up, after two and a half years, to know this one's yours and it won't be anything good. Michonne's stockpiled more than usual - cases of bottled water, a shit ton of non-perishable food, and guns, ammo. She doesn't know what to expect; maybe it'll all disappear overnight, but she has to try.

When she wakes up back home, back in Alexandria, at first she thinks she's back. But she remembers Wonderland, sits up straight in bed and realizes a few things. Rick's not beside her, her stockpile from yesterday is still there, and her device is on the nightstand. Dressing quickly, she gets up, walks through the familiar house and out onto the porch.

She is home. There's no Daryl in the house next door, her people aren't here, but she's back and she isn't sure how to feel. She isn't even sure what fucked up thing might happen. She has to do her best to warn everyone, toe the line between scaring the shit out of people and making sure they understand. Sitting at her kitchen table (and that's a weird thing, too. This isn't anyone's but hers. This is all...hers. Her house, her couch, her mantle where she hung her katana thinking in a bout of optimism that it could stay there) she turns on her device, her face a little harder than usual which is, in all honesty, saying something. ]

If you don't know me, my name's Michonne. This is my world. Looks nice. Quaint. But it's not. Most people in Wonderland call it a zombie apocalypse. We didn't know what it was.

[ She really can't help having this moment out loud. ]

It was never entertainment for movies and tv in my world. It's real. Most of you already know what to do: shot to the head is the only thing that kills them. It's not good enough to just cut off the head. It can still bite. You get bit, you die and turn. Come back as one of them. Don't worry about being able to tell the difference between someone alive and someone dead. You can see it. Smell it.

[ And uh, one other thing: ]

If you get bit on a part that can be cut off, arm, leg. Do it. Cut it off as soon as you can. If you don't bleed to death, you won't turn.

[ But everyone knows this is temporary, so maybe people would just rather die than go through an amputation. Maybe they'd die and turn because eventually, this will end. They don't have to keep living it every single day. ]

I don't know if walkers will even be the issue. It could be anything I've gone through, right? There's enough fucked up shit that's happened, the biggest threat might not even be the dead. Just trust me. Get a weapon. Stay close because there's safety in numbers. I'm at the very end of the neighborhood with cases of water and food if you don't have any, but look in your pantries and see if there are rations, first. If you know how to use a gun, I've got those too.

Just know that noise draws them in. Gunfire is dangerous, might as well sound off a dinner bell for walkers. That's why I've had and always will have a katana. If you smell like them, they won't bother you. Smear their guts on you, smell dead, walk slow, you can get through a hoard.

[ She should stop, she can't tell everyone everything, it's too much. ]

You know how to reach me, if you need me.

[This isn't a particularly substantial post, but at least Wanda is putting herself out there on the network in a post that not just a response to others, after being absent from Wonderland for a week, only to have been gone to live a stressful year back home. She got back a few days ago.]

That was disorienting to come back to Wonderland after being sent home for a while.

[The words probably read more casual than she actually feels. But it's text, so she can get away with it. Fake it til you make it -- or something like that.]

Does anyone actually readjust to that or..?

[Rick is on the beach, but he's not exactly dressed in beachware. He's just wearing his usual labcoat, and the only new addition seems to be the big, industrial-style earmuffs hanging around his neck. There's also some kind of metal structure behind him that looks exactly like a missile launchpad.]

Okay, so I-I'm only giving this warning once. Gonna be ordnance testing for th-the next two hours out on the beach, so d-don't come out here without at least some kinda ear protection. And don't f-f-freak out if you hear a lot of explosions. Cause there's gonna be explosions. I don't have to warn you dumbfucks. Th-This is a courtesy.

[Then, in full view of the camera, he takes a swig from his hip flask. Rick Sanchez is all about weapon safety.]

Rick out.

[And indeed, for the next two hours there's a lot of high-pitched whistling and thunderous explosions from the direction of the beach. Hope you weren't planning a beach party! Feel free to come try to stop him or yell or something.]

Alright, so I’ve done all the reading, looked through the brochure. Really handy, by the way, more inter-dimensional kidnappings could use something like that. Nice to show up and have tourist info provided right off the bat.

[He’s doing his best to put a good face on this, he really is. Given his most recent inter-dimensional experiences, this is something of an improvement-- although all things considered, there’s nowhere he’d rather be right now than Earth, preferably with his team, although he supposes that last part is on him. He’d chosen to walk away, at least for a little while. Thanks to that decision, the first night here had been a little more difficult than it might have otherwise, but he's managing.

He’ll give Wonderland some credit. It beats solitary confinement in a parasite’s prison.]

That said, I’m not sure how I feel about a world without Wikipedia. How do you settle all the random debates that come up over breakfast without Wikipedia?

Teddy Altman, by the way. I hear I've been here before, but I don't remember any of it. Apologies in advance for that one.

Three years. Three years is a really long time to be stuck in one place isn't it? I've been here for three years already.

I guess that makes me one of the veterans here huh?

I mean I know there are people here who've been longer, but. Well. Not many of us make it this far.

[ he's not really sure where he's going with this. He does have a point, he just isn't sure how he wants to ask what he wants to ask. He's rolling a ring around between his fingers as he talks, the camera may dip to catch him fidgeting with it. Those questions he knows no one but his mirror can answer and well, that's not happening. So he'll stick with things that other people can answer. ]

Has anyone else never gone home? I mean. Like when some people disappear for a week and come back after time has passed gone home, not for good.

It's been three years and I've never gotten to leave and come back. So anyone else whose been here close to this long or longer, have any of you never gone home?

[ He's almost afraid to think of what it means. He knows Jo had never left and that was because she had nothing to go back to. And well, everyone from home whose been here is either before him or Loki who had no idea what he was up to. Did it also mean he had no future to go back to?]

If anyone wants to come help me celebrate three years I'll be at the bar. [ By which he means the old bar, because he's got issues. ]

[ Well, it's another newbie, but he's sure calm about this whole thing. There's not a whole lot Bucky needs to process here. When you work to combat supernatural wackos, well, you have to expect waking up in wacko places. ]

Huh. I've gotta say, this is probably the gentlest kidnapping I've ever experienced. And there's even a theme, which is a new twist on an old problem. I like captives who think outside the box! I'm not complaining! You know, makes this all a little less tedious, am I right?

[ Through the Looking Glass of all things, too! That is mainly why Bucky isn't taking this too seriously. This seems more like a weird dream or an illusion—Something he's experienced before within the literal head space of a powerful mutant. ]
