Well, we did it. We reached the end of an era!

It’s absolutely wild to think that this game has been open for thirteen years. That’s absurd. For the longest time we were the oldest game in DWRP. We were one of the oldest in LJRP, before the great migration of 2012.

So, we didn’t feel right ending things as mods without taking a second to say our individual goodbyes. If you’ll indulge us for a moment, we each have something to say:

KOJI
I can’t believe I’ve been modding for eleven of those thirteen years? Somehow that’s even more unbelievable than the game just flatout being around since forever.

Before Entranceway, I said I would never mod again. It can be a thankless and difficult job, but I took it up here at a time when the game was in real serious trouble. I took it up because I loved Eway and the homey feeling it always had for me. The biggest compliment I’ve ever gotten is hearing that we’re the Hufflepuff of games. I’m so grateful we could be that for people, and I’m grateful this game could be that for me as well. I can honestly say it’s changed my life for the better.

Closing Entranceway is one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made, but in the end it was the right call. I’m going to miss this place so, so much.

KRISTEN
I’ve never been the most visible of the Entranceway mods, but I’ve really enjoyed the chance to play with everyone. You--and pretty much everyone who’s passed through this game--have been an amazing group to collaborate with. Eway has always been my RP home. I’ve tried a few other games, but none have ever clicked with me like Eway has. Other than PSLs, I think this is the end of journal RP for me. So thank you for being a part of my experience here. Like Koji, I’m going to miss Eway.

And then finally, thank you to everyone who’s passed through Entranceway, everyone who’s ever modded this game, everyone who came back to visit in its last few months, and everyone who stuck with us until the end. ♥

It takes some time to get through all of the hugs and tears, all of the goodbyes between friends who might never see each other again. So long, farewell, take care of yourself. It takes some longer to decide exactly where to go, particularly if they don't feel they have a home to go home to.

But eventually, the last person makes their choice. With no one left in what was once Wonderland, the rifts begin to close. No one is coming in, and no one is going out.

And the Core -- Corey, as it has been named -- is alone again. Alone and fading, with very little fuel left to keep itself going this way. It has to try something new. It has to try...

"...A new pose."

When you arrive back in your world, it is the exact moment you left it. However, something feels different. It takes a moment, as though you left one room and forgot what exactly you came to this one for.

Eventually it hits you - you remember.

You're in your world, you have anyone you've brought along from Wonderland with you, and you remember having been there. You remember the people you met, the things that happened. The fallout and collapse of everything it was. You remember Wonderland, and the Core that all worlds came from, once upon a time.

On the next starry night, there's something odd about the sky. The stars are beautiful and comforting, and exceedingly bright. Maybe it doesn't seem quite right to you, just slightly off somehow, or perhaps you know your constellations and have noticed something.

There's a new cluster of stars in the sky of every world that has one - a small, heart-shaped constellation. Still it haunts you, phantomwise.

But it hopes you'll think of it now and then. It hopes you'll remember that mysterious world, that dream-like place between life and death. It hopes you know it misses you, and that you miss it too.
